¹Astfel a fost isprăvită toată lucrarea pe care a făcut -o Solomon pentru Casa Domnului. Apoi a adus argintul, aurul şi toate uneltele pe cari le închinase Domnului tatăl său David, şi le -a pus în vistieriile Casei lui Dumnezeu.

¹Thus all the work that Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

²Atunci Solomon a strîns la Ierusalim pe bătrînii lui Israel şi pe toate căpeteniile seminţiilor, pe capii familiilor copiilor lui Israel, ca să mute din cetatea lui David, adică din Sion, chivotul legămîntului Domnului.

²Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.

³Toţi bărbaţii lui Israel s'au adunat la împărat, pentru sărbătoarea din luna a şaptea.

³And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.

⁴Cînd au ajuns toţi bătrînii lui Israel, Leviţii au ridicat chivotul.

⁴All the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark;

⁵Au adus chivotul, cortul întîlnirii, şi toate uneltele sfinte cari erau în cort: preoţii şi Leviţii le-au dus.

⁵and they brought up the ark, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; these the priests the Levites brought up.

⁶Împăratul Solomon şi toată adunarea lui Israel, chemată la el, a stătut înaintea chivotului. Au jertfit oi şi boi, cari nu se pot nici socoti, nici număra, din pricina mulţimii lor.

⁶King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

⁷Preoţii au dus chivotul legămîntului Domnului la locul lui, în sfîntul locaş al casei, în Locul prea sfînt, supt aripile heruvimilor.

⁷The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

⁸Heruvimii aveau aripile întinse peste locul chivotului, şi acopereau chivotul şi drugii lui pe deasupra.

⁸For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

⁹Drugilor li se dăduse o astfel de lungime încît capetele lor se vedeau la o depărtare de chivot dinaintea sfîntului locaş, dar nu se vedeau de afară. Chivotul a fost acolo pînă în ziua de azi.

⁹The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there it is to this day.

¹⁰În chivot nu erau decît cele două table, pe cari le pusese acolo Moise, în Horeb, cînd a făcut Domnul legămînt cu copiii lui Israel, la ieşirea lor din Egipt.

¹⁰There was nothing in the ark except the two tables which Moses put at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

¹¹În clipa cînd au ieşit preoţii din Locul sfînt, -căci toţi preoţii de faţă se sfinţiseră fără să mai ţină şirul cetelor,

¹¹It happened, when the priests had come out of the holy place, (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;

¹²şi toţi Leviţii cari erau cîntăreţi: Asaf, Heman, Iedutun, fiii şi fraţii lor, îmbrăcaţi în in supţire, stăteau la răsăritul altarului cu chimvale, alăute şi arfe, şi aveau cu ei o sută douăzeci de preoţi cari sunau din trîmbiţe; -

¹²also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets;)

¹³şi cînd cei ce sunau din trîmbiţe şi ceice cîntau, unindu-se într'un glas ca să mărească şi să laude pe Domnul, au sunat din trîmbiţe, chimvale şi celelalte instrumente, şi au mărit pe Domnul prin aceste cuvinte: ,,Căci este bun, căci îndurarea Lui ţine în veci!`` în clipa aceea, casa, şi anume Casa Domnului, s'a umplut cu un nor.

¹³it happened, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Yahweh; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever!” that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of Yahweh,

¹⁴Preoţii n'au putut să mai stea acolo ca să facă slujba, din pricina norului; căci slava Domnului umpluse Casa lui Dumnezeu.

¹⁴so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of Yahweh filled God’s house.
