¹Împărăteasa din Seba a auzit de faima lui Solomon, şi a venit la Ierusalim ca să -l încerce prin întrebări grele. Ea avea un alai foarte mare, şi cămile încărcate cu mirodenii, aur mult de tot şi pietre scumpe. S'a dus la Solomon, şi i -a spus tot ce avea pe inimă.

¹When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bore spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.

²Solomon i -a răspuns la toate întrebările, şi n'a fost nimic pe care să nu fi ştiut Solomon să i -l lămurească.

²Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her.

³Împărăteasa din Seba a văzut înţelepciunea lui Solomon, şi casa pe care o zidise,

³When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

⁴şi bucatele dela masa lui, şi locuinţa slujitorilor lui, şi slujbele şi hainele celor ce -i slujeau, şi paharnicii lui şi hainele lor, şi treptele pe cari se suia la Casa Domnului. Uimită,

⁴and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, his cup bearers also, and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.

⁵ea a zis împăratului: ,,Era adevărat deci ce am auzit eu în ţara mea despre faptele şi înţelepciunea ta!

⁵She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.

⁶Nu credeam tot ce se zicea, pînă n'am venit şi am văzut cu ochii mei. Şi iată că nu mi s'a istorisit nici jumătate din mărirea şi înţelepciunea ta. Tu întreci faima pe care am auzit -o despre tine.

⁶However I didn’t believe their words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me: you exceed the fame that I heard.

⁷Ferice de oamenii tăi, ferice de slujitorii tăi, cari sînt pururea înaintea ta, şi cari aud înţelepciunea ta!

⁷Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and hear your wisdom.

⁸Binecuvîntat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, care S'a îndurat de tine, şi te -a pus pe scaunul Lui de domnie ca împărat pentru Domnul, Dumnezeul tău! Pentrucă Dumnezeul tău iubeşte pe Israel şi vrea să -l facă să rămînă în picioare pe vecie, pentru aceea te -a pus împărat peste el, ca să faci judecată şi dreptate.``

⁸Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne, to be king for Yahweh your God: because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore made he you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”

⁹Ea a dat împăratului o sută douăzeci de talanţi de aur, foarte multe mirodenii, şi pietre scumpe. N'au mai fost mirodenii ca cele date împăratului Solomon de împărăteasa din Seba.

⁹She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

¹⁰Slujitorii lui Hiram şi slujitorii lui Solomon, cari au adus aur din Ofir, au adus şi lemn mirositor şi pietre scumpe.

¹¹The king made of the algum trees terraces for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers: and there were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.

¹²Împăratul Solomon a dat împărătesei din Seba tot ce a dorit ea, ce a cerut, mai mult decît adusese ea împăratului. Apoi s'a întors şi s'a dus în ţara ei, ea şi slujitorii ei.

¹²King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which she had brought to the king. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

¹³Greutatea aurului care venea pe fiecare an lui Solomon era de şase sute şasezeci şi şase de talanţi de aur,

¹³Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

¹⁴afară de ce lua dela negustorii cei mari şi dela cei mici, dela toţi împăraţii Arabiei şi dela dregătorii ţării, cari aduceau aur şi argint lui Solomon.

¹⁴besides that which the traders and merchants brought: and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

¹⁵Împăratul Solomon a făcut două sute de scuturi mari de aur bătut, şi pentru fiecare din ele a întrebuinţat şase sute de sicli de aur bătut,

¹⁵King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one buckler.

¹⁶şi alte trei sute de scuturi de aur bătut, şi pentru fiecare din ele a întrebuinţat trei sute de sicli de aur; şi împăratul le -a pus în casa pădurii Libanului.

¹⁶He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

¹⁷Împăratul a făcut un mare scaun de domnie de fildeş, şi l -a acoperit cu aur curat.

¹⁷Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

¹⁸Scaunul acesta de domnie avea şase trepte, şi un aşternut pentru picioare, de aur, care se ţinea de scaunul de domnie; de fiecare parte a scaunului erau răzimători, lîngă răzimători erau doi lei,

¹⁸And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.

¹⁹şi pe cele şase trepte, de o parte şi de alta, erau doisprezece lei. Aşa ceva nu s'a făcut pentru nici o împărăţie.

¹⁹Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.

²⁰Toate paharele împăratului Solomon erau de aur, şi toate vasele din casa pădurii Libanului erau de aur curat. Nu era nimic de argint: argintului nu i se dădea niciun preţ, pe vremea lui Solomon.

²⁰All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

²¹Căci împăratul avea corăbii din Tarsis cari călătoreau cu slujitorii lui Hiram; şi la fiecare trei ani veneau corăbiile din Tarsis, aducînd aur şi argint, fildeş, maimuţe şi păuni.

²¹For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

²²Împăratul Solomon a întrecut pe toţi împăraţii pămîntului prin bogăţiile şi înţelepciunea lui.

²²So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

²³Toţi împăraţii pămîntului căutau să vadă pe Solomon, ca să audă înţelepciunea pe care o pusese Dumnezeu în inima lui.

²³All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

²⁴Şi fiecare din ei îşi aducea darul lui, lucruri de argint şi lucruri de aur, haine, arme, mirodenii, cai şi catîri; aşa era în fiecare an.

²⁴They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

²⁵Solomon avea patru mii de iesle pentru caii dela carăle lui, şi douăsprezece mii de călăreţi pe cari i -a aşezat în cetăţile unde îşi ţinea carăle şi la Ierusalim lîngă împărat.

²⁵Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁶El stăpînea peste toţi împăraţii, dela Rîu pînă la ţara Filistenilor şi pînă la hotarul Egiptului.

²⁶He ruled over all the kings from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

²⁷Împăratul a făcut argintul tot aşa de obicinuit la Ierusalim ca pietrele, şi cedrii tot atît de mulţi ca smochinii sălbatici, cari cresc pe cîmpie.

²⁷The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁸Din Egipt şi din toate ţările se aduceau cai pentru Solomon.

²⁸They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

²⁹Celelalte fapte ale lui Solomon, cele dintîi şi cele depe urmă, nu sînt scrise oare în Cartea proorocului Natan, în proorocia lui Ahia din Silo, şi în descoperirile proorocului Ieedo despre Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat?

²⁹Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

³⁰Solomon a domnit patruzeci de ani la Ierusalim peste tot Israelul.

³⁰Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

³¹Apoi Solomon a adormit cu părinţii lui, şi l-au îngropat în cetatea tatălui său David. Şi, în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Roboam.

³¹Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
