¹David a îndreptat către Domnul cuvintele acestei cîntări, după ce Domnul l -a izbăvit din mîna tuturor vrăjmaşilor lui şi din mîna lui Saul.

¹David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

²El a zis: ,,Domnul este stînca mea, cetăţuia mea, Izbăvitorul meu.

²and he said, “Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;

³Dumnezeu este stînca mea, la care găsesc un adăpost, scutul meu şi puterea... care mă mîntuieşte, turnul...... meu cel înalt şi scăparea... mea. Mîntuitorule! Tu mă scapi de sîlnicie.

³God, my rock, in him I will take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence.

⁴Eu chem pe Domnul cel vrednic de laudă, şi sînt izbăvit de vrămaşii mei.

⁴I will call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from my enemies.

⁵Căci valurile morţii mă înconjuraseră, şivoaiele nimicirii mă înspăimîntaseră;

⁵For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

⁶legăturile mormîntului mă înconjuraseră, laţurile morţii mă prinseseră.

⁶The cords of Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. were around me. The snares of death caught me.

⁷În strîmtoarea mea, am chemat pe Domnul, am chemat pe Dumnezeul meu; din locaşul Lui, El mi -a auzit glasul, şi strigătul meu a ajuns la urechile Lui.

⁷In my distress I called on Yahweh. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.

⁸Atunci pămîntul s'a cutremurat şi s'a clătinat, temeliile cerului s'au mişcat şi s'au zguduit, pentrucă El Se mîniase.

⁸Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.

⁹Fum se ridica din nările Lui, şi un foc mistuitor ieşea din gura Lui: cărbuni aprinşi ţîşneau din ea.

⁹Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Fire out of his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it.

¹⁰A plecat cerurile, şi S'a pogorît: un nor gros era subt picioarele Lui.

¹⁰He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.

¹¹Călărea pe un heruvim, şi sbura, venea pe aripile vîntului;

¹¹He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.

¹²era înconjurat cu întunerecul ca şi cu un cort, era înconjurat cu grămezi de ape şi cu nori întunecoşi.

¹²He made darkness pavilions around himself: gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

¹³Din strălucirea care era înaintea Lui schinteiau cărbuni de foc.

¹³At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.

¹⁴Domnul a tunat din ceruri, Cel Prea Înalt a făcut să -I răsune glasul;

¹⁴Yahweh thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.

¹⁵a aruncat săgeţi şi a risipit pe vrăjmaşii mei, a aruncat fulgerul, şi i -a pus pe fugă.

¹⁵He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and confused them.

¹⁶Fundul mării s'a văzut, temeliile lumii au fost descoperite, de mustrarea Domnului, de vuietul suflării nărilor Lui.

¹⁶Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of Yahweh, At the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

¹⁷El şi -a întins mîna de sus din înălţime, m'a apucat, m'a scos din apele cele mari;

¹⁷He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.

¹⁸m'a izbăvit de protivnicul meu cel puternic, de vrăjmaşii mei cari erau mai tari decît mine.

¹⁸He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

¹⁹Ei mă prinseseră în ziua strîmtorării mele, dar Domnul a fost sprijinitorul meu,

¹⁹They came on me in the day of my calamity, but Yahweh was my support.

²⁰El m'a scos la loc larg. El m'a mîntuit, pentrucă mă iubeşte.

²⁰He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.

²¹Domnul mi -a răsplătit după nevinovăţia mea, mi -a făcut după curăţia mînilor mele;

²¹Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.

²²căci am păzit căile Domnului, nu m'am făcut vinovat faţă de Dumnezeul meu.

²²For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

²³Toate poruncile Lui au fost înaintea mea, şi nu m'am depărtat dela legile Lui.

²³For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

²⁴Am fost fără vină înaintea Lui, m'am păzit de fărădelegea mea.

²⁴I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

²⁵De aceea Domnul mi -a răsplătit nevinovăţia mea, după curăţia mea înainte Lui.

²⁵Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.

²⁶Cu cel bun Tu eşti bun, cu omul drept Te porţi după dreptate,

²⁶With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.

²⁷cu cel curat eşti curat, cu cel îndărătnic Te porţi după îndărătnicia lui.

²⁷With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

²⁸Tu mîntuieşti pe poporul care se smereşte, şi cu privirea Ta, scobori pe cei mîndri.

²⁸You will save the afflicted people, But your eyes are on the haughty, that you may bring them down.

²⁹Da, Tu eşti lumina mea, Doamne! Domnul luminează întunerecul meu.

²⁹For you are my lamp, Yahweh. Yahweh will light up my darkness.

³⁰Cu Tine mă năpustesc asupra unei oşti înarmate, cu Dumnezeul meu sar peste zid.

³⁰For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.

³¹Căile lui Dumnezeu sînt desăvîrşite, cuvîntul Domnului este curăţit; El este un scut pentru toţi cei ce caută adăpost în El.

³¹As for God, his way is perfect. The word of Yahweh is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

³²Căci cine este Dumnezeu, afară de Domnul? Şi cine este o stîncă, afară de Dumnezeul nostru?

³²For who is God, besides Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God?

³³Dumnezeu este cetăţuia mea cea tare, şi El mă călăuzeşte pe calea cea dreaptă....

³³God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.

³⁴El îmi face picioarele ca ale cerboaicelor, şi El mă aşează pe locurile mele cele înalte.

³⁴He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.

³⁵Îmi deprinde mînile la luptă, şi braţele mele întind arcul de aramă.

³⁵He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass.

³⁶Tu îmi dai scutul mîntuirii Tale, şi ajung mare prin bunătatea Ta.

³⁶You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.

³⁷Lărgeşti drumul supt paşii mei, şi picioarele mele nu se clatină.

³⁷You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.

³⁸Urmăresc pe vrăjmaşii mei, şi -i nimicesc, nu mă întorc pînă nu -i nimicesc.

³⁸I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.

³⁹Îi nimicesc, îi zdrobesc, de nu se mai scoală; cad subt picioarele mele.

³⁹I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet.

⁴⁰Tu mă încingi cu putere pentru luptă, răpui subt mine pe protivnicii mei.

⁴⁰For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

⁴¹Faci pe vrăjmaşii mei să dea dosul înaintea mea, şi nimicesc pe ceice mă urăsc.

⁴¹You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

⁴²Se uită în jurul lor, şi nu -i cine să -i scape. Strigă către Domnul dar nu le răspunde!

⁴²They looked, but there was none to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.

⁴³Îi pisez ca pulberea pămîntului, îi zdrobesc, îi calc în picioare, ca noroiul de pe uliţe.

⁴³Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.

⁴⁴Mă scapi din neînţelegerile poporului meu; mă păstrezi drept căpetenie a neamurilor; un popor... pe care nu -l cunoşteam îmi este supus.

⁴⁴You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.

⁴⁵Fiii străinului mă linguşesc; mă ascultă la cea dintîi poruncă.

⁴⁵The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.

⁴⁶Fiii străinului leşină dela inimă, tremură cînd ies afară din cetăţuie.

⁴⁶The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.

⁴⁷Trăiască Domnul, şi binecuvîntată să fie Stînca mea! Înălţat să fie Dumnezeu, Stînca mîntuirii mele,

⁴⁷Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

⁴⁸Dumnezeu, care este răzbunătorul meu, care-mi supune popoarele,

⁴⁸even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,

⁴⁹şi care mă face să scap de vrăjmaşii mei! Tu mă înalţi mai pesus de protivnicii mei, mă izbăveşti de omul asupritor.

⁴⁹who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

⁵⁰De aceea Te voi lăuda printre neamuri, Doamne! Şi voi cînta spre slava Numelui Tău.

⁵⁰Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations. Will sing praises to your name.

⁵¹El dă mari izbăviri împăratului Său, şi arată milă unsului Său: lui David, şi seminţei... lui, pentru totdeauna.``

⁵¹He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, forevermore.”
