¹,,În vremea aceea, Domnul mi -a zis: ,Taie două table de piatră ca cele dintîi, şi suie-te la Mine pe munte; fă şi un chivot de lemn.

¹At that time Yahweh said to me, “Cut two tables of stone like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood.

²Eu voi scrie pe aceste două table cuvintele cari erau scrise pe tablele dintîi pe cari le-ai sfărîmat, şi să le pui în chivot.`

²I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.”

³Am făcut un chivot de lemn de salcîm, am tăiat două table de piatră ca cele dintîi, şi m'am suit pe munte cu cele două table în mînă.

³So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tables of stone like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tables in my hand.

⁴Domnul a scris pe table ce fusese scris pe cele dintîi, cele zece porunci cari vă fuseseră spuse pe munte, din mijlocul focului, în ziua adunării; şi Domnul mi le -a dat.

⁴He wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Yahweh spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Yahweh gave them to me.

⁵M'am întors apoi şi m'am pogorît de pe munte, am pus tablele în chivotul pe care -l făcusem, şi ele au rămas acolo, cum îmi poruncise Domnul.

⁵I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Yahweh commanded me.

⁶Copiii lui Israel au plecat din Beerot-Bene-Iaacan la Mosera. Acolo a murit Aaron, şi a fost îngropat; Eleazar, fiul lui, i -a urmat în slujba preoţiei.

⁶(The children of Israel traveled from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his place.

⁷Apoi deacolo au pornit la Gudgoda, şi dela Gudgoda la Iotbata, ţară unde sînt pîraie de ape.

⁷From there they traveled to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

⁸În vremea aceea, Domnul a despărţit seminţia lui Levi, şi i -a poruncit să ducă chivotul legămîntului Domnului, să stea înaintea Domnului ca să -I slujească, şi să binecuvînteze poporul în Numele Lui; lucru pe care l -a făcut pînă în ziua de azi.

⁸At that time Yahweh set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.

⁹Deaceea Levi n'are nici parte de moşie, nici moştenire cu fraţii lui: Domnul este moştenirea lui, cum i -a spus Domnul, Dumnezeul tău.

⁹Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brothers; Yahweh is his inheritance, according as Yahweh your God spoke to him.)

¹⁰Eu am rămas pe munte, ca şi mai înainte, patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi. Domnul m'a ascultat şi de data aceasta; Domnul n'a voit să vă nimicească.

¹⁰I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights: and Yahweh listened to me that time also; Yahweh would not destroy you.

¹¹Domnul mi -a zis: ,Scoală-te, du-te, şi mergi în fruntea poporului. Să se ducă să ia în stăpînire ţara pe care am jurat părinţilor lor că le -o voi da.`

¹¹Yahweh said to me, “Arise, take your journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them.”

¹²Acum, Israele, ce alta cere dela tine Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, decît să te temi de Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, să umbli în toate căile Lui, să iubeşti şi să slujeşti Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, din toată inima ta şi din tot sufletul tău,

¹²Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹³să păzeşti poruncile Domnului şi legile Lui pe cari ţi le dau astăzi, ca să fii fericit?

¹³to keep the commandments of Yahweh, and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

¹⁴Iată, ale Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, sînt cerurile şi cerurile cerurilor, pămîntul şi tot ce cuprinde el.

¹⁴Behold, to Yahweh your God belongs heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is therein.

¹⁵Şi numai de părinţii tăi S'a alipit Domnul ca să -i iubească; şi după ei, pe sămînţa lor, pe voi v'a ales El dintre toate popoarele, cum vedeţi azi.

¹⁵Only Yahweh had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

¹⁶Să vă tăiaţi dar inima împrejur, şi să nu vă mai înţepeniţi gîtul.

¹⁶Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.

¹⁷Căci Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, este Dumnezeul dumnezeilor, Domnul domnilor, Dumnezeul cel mare, puternic şi înfricoşat, care nu caută la faţa oamenilor şi nu primeşte daruri;

¹⁷For Yahweh your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn’t respect persons, nor takes reward.

¹⁸care face dreptate orfanului şi văduvei, care iubeşte pe străin şi -i dă hrană şi îmbrăcăminte.

¹⁸He does execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner, in giving him food and clothing.

¹⁹Să iubiţi pe străin, căci şi voi aţi fost străini în ţara Egiptului.

¹⁹Therefore love the foreigner; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

²⁰Să te temi de Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, să -I slujeşti, să te alipeşti de El, şi pe Numele Lui să juri.

²⁰You shall fear Yahweh your God; you shall serve him; and you shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.

²¹El este slava ta, El este Dumnezeul tău. El a făcut în mijlocul tău aceste lucruri mari şi grozave pe cari ţi le-au văzut ochii.

²¹He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things, which your eyes have seen.

²²Părinţii tăi s'au pogorît în Egipt în număr de şaptezeci de inşi; acum Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, a făcut din tine o mulţime ca stelele cerului.``

²²Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now Yahweh your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.
