¹Atunci Moise şi copiii lui Israel au cîntat Domnului cîntarea aceasta. Ei au zis: ,,Voi cînta Domnului, căci Şi -a arătat slava: A năpustit în mare pe cal şi pe călăreţ.

¹Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

²Domnul este tăria mea şi temeiul cîntărilor mele de laudă: El m'a scăpat. El este Dumnezeul meu: pe El Îl voi lăuda; El este Dumnezeul tatălui meu: pe El Îl voi preamări.

²Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

³Domnul este un războinic viteaz: Numele Lui este Domnul.

³Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name.

⁴El a aruncat în mare carăle lui Faraon şi oastea lui; Luptătorii lui aleşi au fost înghiţiţi în marea Roşie.

⁴He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

⁵I-au acoperit valurile, Şi s'au pogorît în fundul apelor, ca o piatră.

⁵The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.

⁶Dreapta Ta, Doamne, şi -a făcut vestită tăria; Mîna Ta cea dreaptă, Doamne, a zdrobit pe vrăjmaşi.

⁶Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces.

⁷Prin mărimea măreţiei Tale, Tu trînteşti la pămînt pe vrăjmaşii Tăi; Îţi deslănţuieşti mînia, Şi ea -i mistuie ca pe o trestie.

⁷In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send forth your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.

⁸La suflarea nărilor Tale, s'au îngrămădit apele, S'au ridicat talazurile ca un zid, Şi s'au închegat valurile în mijlocul mării.

⁸With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.

⁹Vrăjmaşul zicea: ,,Îi voi urmări, îi voi ajunge, Voi împărţi prada de război; Îmi voi răzbuna pe ei, Voi scoate sabia, şi -i voi nimici cu mîna mea!``

⁹The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the spoil. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’

¹⁰Dar Tu ai suflat cu suflarea Ta: Şi marea i -a acoperit; Ca plumbul s'au afundat În adîncimea apelor.

¹⁰You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

¹¹Cine este ca Tine între dumnezei, Doamne? Cine este ca Tine minunat în sfinţenie, Bogat în fapte de laudă, Şi făcător de minuni?

¹¹Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹²Tu Ţi-ai întins mîna dreaptă: Şi i -a înghiţit pămîntul.

¹²You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them.

¹³Prin îndurarea Ta, Tu ai călăuzit, Şi ai izbăvit pe poporul acesta; Iar prin puterea Ta îl îndrepţi Spre locaşul sfinţeniei Tale.

¹³“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

¹⁴Popoarele vor afla lucrul acesta, şi se vor cutremura: Apucă groaza pe Filisteni,

¹⁴The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.

¹⁵Se înspăimîntă căpeteniile Edomului, Şi un tremur apucă pe războinicii lui Moab; Toţi locuitorii Canaanului leşină dela inimă.

¹⁵Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away.

¹⁶Îi va apuca teama şi spaima; Iar văzînd măreţia braţului Tău, Vor sta muţi ca o piatră, Pînă va trece poporul Tău, Doamne! Pînă va trece Poporul, pe care Ţi l-ai răscumpărat.

¹⁶Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over who you have purchased.

¹⁷Tu îi vei aduce şi -i vei aşeza pe muntele moştenirii Tale, În locul, pe care Ţi l-ai pregătit ca locaş, Doamne, La Templul, pe care mînile Tale l-au întemeiat, Doamne!

¹⁷You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.

¹⁸Şi Domnul va împărăţi în veac şi în veci de veci.

¹⁹Căci caii lui Faraon, carăle şi călăreţii lui au intrat în mare, Şi Domnul a adus peste ei apele mării; Dar copiii lui Israel au mers ca pe uscat prin mijlocul mării.``

¹⁹For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea.

²⁰Maria, proorociţa, sora lui Aaron, a luat în mînă o timpană, şi toate femeile au venit după ea, cu timpane şi jucînd.

²⁰Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

²¹Maria răspundea copiilor lui Israel:

²¹Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”

²²Moise a pornit pe Israel dela marea Roşie. Au apucat înspre pustia Şur; şi, după trei zile de mers în pustie, n'au găsit apă.

²²Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds , and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

²³Au ajuns la Mara; dar n'au putut să bea apă din Mara, pentrucă era amară. De aceea locul acela a fost numit Mara (Amărăciune).

²³When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. Marah means bitter.

²⁴Poporul a cîrtit împotriva lui Moise, zicînd: ,,Ce avem să bem?``

²⁴The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

²⁵Moise a strigat către Domnul; şi Domnul i -a arătat un lemn, pe care l -a aruncat în apă. Şi apa s'a făcut dulce. Acolo a dat Domnul poporului legi şi porunci, şi acolo l -a pus la încercare.

²⁵Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them;

²⁶El a zis: ,,Dacă vei asculta cu luare aminte glasul Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, dacă vei face ce este bine înaintea Lui, dacă vei asculta de poruncile Lui, şi dacă vei păzi toate legile Lui, nu te voi lovi cu niciuna din bolile cu cari am lovit pe Egipteni; căci Eu sînt Domnul, care te vindecă.``

²⁶and he said, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”

²⁷Au ajuns la Elim, unde erau douăsprezece izvoare de apă şi şaptezeci de finici. Şi au tăbărît acolo, lîngă apă.

²⁷They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
