¹Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Taie două table de piatră ca cele dintîi, şi Eu voi scrie pe ele cuvintele cari erau pe tablele dintîi pe cari le-ai sfărîmat.

¹Yahweh said to Moses, “Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

²Fii gata disdedimineaţă şi suie-te de dimineaţă pe muntele Sinai; să stai acolo înaintea Mea, pe vîrful muntelui.

²Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.

³Nimeni să nu se suie cu tine, şi nimeni să nu se arate pe tot muntele; şi nici boi, nici oi să nu pască pe lîngă muntele acesta.``

³No one shall come up with you; neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.”

⁴Moise a tăiat două table de piatră ca şi cele dintîi; s'a sculat dis de dimineaţă, şi s'a suit pe muntele Sinai, după cum îi poruncise Domnul; şi a luat în mînă cele două table de piatră.

⁴He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.

⁵Domnul S'a pogorît într'un nor, a stătut acolo lîngă el, şi a rostit Numele Domnului.

⁵Yahweh descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Yahweh.

⁶Şi Domnul a trecut pe dinaintea lui, şi a strigat: ,,Domnul, Dumnezeu este un Dumnezeu plin de îndurare şi milostiv, încet la mînie, plin de bunătate şi credincioşie,

⁶Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, “Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,

⁷care Îşi ţine dragostea pînă în mii de neamuri de oameni, iartă fărădelegea, răzvrătirea şi păcatul, dar nu socoteşte pe cel vinovat drept nevinovat, şi pedepseşte fărădelegea părinţilor în copii şi în copiii copiilor lor pînă la al treilea şi al patrulea neam!``

⁷keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”

⁸Îndată Moise s'a plecat pînă la pămînt şi s'a închinat.

⁸Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

⁹El a zis: ,,Doamne, dacă am căpătat trecere înaintea Ta, Te rog să mergi în mijlocul nostru, Doamne; poporul acesta este în adevăr un popor încăpăţînat, dar iartă-ne fărădelegile şi păcatele noastre, şi ia-ne în stăpînirea Ta!``

⁹He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

¹⁰Domnul a răspuns: ,,Iată, Eu fac un legămînt. Voi face, în faţa întregului popor, minuni cari n'au avut loc în nicio ţară şi la niciun neam; tot poporul care este în jurul tău, va vedea lucrarea Domnului, şi prin tine voi face lucruri înfricoşate.

¹⁰He said, “Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been worked in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which you are shall see the work of Yahweh; for it is an awesome thing that I do with you.

¹¹Ia seama la ceea ce-ţi poruncesc azi. Iată, voi izgoni dinaintea ta pe Amoriţi, Cananiţi, Hetiţi, Fereziţi, Heviţi şi Iebusiţi.

¹¹Observe that which I command you this day. Behold, I drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

¹²Să nu cumva să faci legămînt cu locuitorii ţării unde ai să intri, ca să nu fie o cursă pentru tine, dacă vor locui în mijlocul tău.

¹²Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:

¹³Dimpotrivă să le dărîmaţi altarele, să le sfărîmaţi stîlpii idoleşti şi să le trîntiţi la pămînt idolii.

¹³but you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their Asherim;

¹⁴Să nu te închini înaintea unui alt dumnezeu; căci Domnul se numeşte gelos, este un Dumnezeu gelos.

¹⁴for you shall worship no other god: for Yahweh, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

¹⁵Fereşte-te să faci legămînt cu locuitorii ţării, ca nu cumva, curvind înaintea dumnezeilor lor, şi, aducîndu-le jertfe, să te poftească şi pe tine, şi să mănînci din jertfele lor,

¹⁵“Don’t make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, lest they play the prostitute after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and one call you and you eat of his sacrifice;

¹⁶ca nu cumva să iei din fetele lor neveste fiilor tăi, şi astfel, fetele lor, curvind înaintea dumnezeilor lor, să tîrască şi pe fiii tăi să curvească înaintea dumnezeilor lor.

¹⁶and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

¹⁷Să nu-ţi faci un dumnezeu turnat.

¹⁷“You shall make no cast idols for yourselves.

¹⁸,,Să ţii sărbătoarea azimilor: timp de şapte zile, la vremea hotărîtă, în luna spicelor, să mănînci azimi, cum ţi-am poruncit, căci în luna spicelor ai ieşit din Egipt.

¹⁸“You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib you came out from Egypt.

¹⁹Orice întîi născut este al Meu, chiar orice întîi născut de parte bărbătească din turmele de vaci sau de oi.

¹⁹“All that opens the womb is mine; and all your livestock that is male, the firstborn of cow and sheep.

²⁰Să răscumperi cu un miel pe întîiul născut al măgăriţei; iar dacă nu -l răscumperi, să -i frîngi gîtul. Să răscumperi pe orice întîi născut al fiilor tăi; şi să nu te înfăţişezi cu mînile goale înaintea Mea.

²⁰The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb: and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. No one shall appear before me empty.

²¹Şase zile să lucrezi, iar în ziua a şaptea să te odihneşti; să te odihneşti, chiar în vremea aratului şi seceratului.

²¹“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

²²Să ţii sărbătoarea săptămînilor, a celor dintîi roade din secerişul grîului, şi sărbătoarea strîngerii roadelor la sfîrşitul anului.

²²“You shall observe the feast of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of harvest at the year’s end.

²³De trei ori pe an, toţi cei de parte bărbătească să se înfăţişeze înaintea Domnului Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul lui Israel.

²³Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord Yahweh, the God of Israel.

²⁴Căci voi izgoni neamurile dinaintea ta, şi-ţi voi întinde hotarele; şi nimeni nu-ţi va pofti ţara, în timpul cînd te vei sui de trei ori pe an, ca să te înfăţişezi înaintea Domnului, Dumnezeului tău.

²⁴For I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither shall any man desire your land when you go up to appear before Yahweh, your God, three times in the year.

²⁵Să n'aduci cu pîne dospită sîngele dobitocului jertfit în cinstea Mea; şi carnea din jertfa praznicului Paştelor să nu fie ţinută în timpul nopţii pînă dimineaţa.

²⁵“You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.

²⁶Să aduci în casa Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, pîrga celor dintîi roade ale pămîntului. Iedul să nu -l fierbi în laptele mamei lui.``

²⁶“You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of Yahweh your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”

²⁷Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Scrie-ţi cuvintele acestea, căci pe temeiul acestor cuvinte închei legămînt cu tine şi cu Israel!``

²⁷Yahweh said to Moses, “Write you these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

²⁸Moise a stat acolo cu Domnul patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi. N'a mîncat deloc pîne, şi n'a băut deloc apă. Şi Domnul a scris pe table cuvintele legămîntului, cele zece porunci.

²⁸He was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

²⁹Moise s'a pogorît de pe muntele Sinai, cu cele două table ale mărturiei în mînă. Cînd se pogora de pe munte, nu ştia că pielea feţei lui strălucea, pentrucă vorbise cu Domnul.

²⁹It happened, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mountain, that Moses didn’t know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

³⁰Aaron şi toţi copiii lui Israel s'au uitat la Moise, şi iată că pielea feţei lui strălucea; şi se temeau să se apropie de el.

³⁰When Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him.

³¹Moise i -a chemat; Aaron şi toţi fruntaşii adunării s'au întors la el, şi el le -a vorbit.

³¹Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.

³²După aceea, toţi copiii lui Israel s'au apropiat, şi el le -a dat toate poruncile, pe cari le primise dela Domnul, pe muntele Sinai.

³²Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them all of the commandments that Yahweh had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.

³³Cînd a încetat să le vorbească, şi -a pus o măhramă pe faţă.

³³When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

³⁴Cînd intra Moise înaintea Domnului, ca să -I vorbească, îşi scotea măhrama pînă ce ieşea; iar cînd ieşea, spunea copiilor lui Israel ce i se poruncise.

³⁴But when Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

³⁵Copiii lui Israel se uitau la faţa lui Moise, şi vedeau că pielea feţei lui strălucea; şi Moise îşi punea iarăş măhrama pe faţă pînă ce intra ca să vorbească cu Domnul.

³⁵The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
