¹El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, stai în picioare, şi-ţi voi vorbi!``

¹He said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.

²Cum mi -a vorbit aceste cuvinte, a intrat duh în mine, şi m'a făcut să stau pe picioare; şi am ascultat la Celce-mi vorbea.

²The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

³El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, te trimet la copiii lui Israel, la aceste ,popoare îndărătnice,` cari s'au răzvrătit împotriva Mea; ei şi părinţii lor au păcătuit împotriva Mea, pînă în ziua de azi.

³He said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

⁴Da, copiii aceştia la cari te trimet, sînt neruşinaţi şi cu inima împietrită. Tu să le spui: ,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu!`

⁴The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I am sending you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh.

⁵Fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta, -căci sînt o casă de îndărătnici-vor şti totuş că în mijlocul lor este un prooroc.

⁵They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

⁶Tu, fiu al omului, să nu te temi de ei, nici să nu te sperii de cuvintele lor; şi măcar că ei sînt nişte mărăcini şi spini lîngă tine, şi măcar că locuieşti împreună cu nişte scorpii, totuş nu te teme de cuvintele lor şi nu te spăimînta de feţele lor, căci sînt o casă de îndărătnici.

⁶You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

⁷Ci să le spui cuvintele Mele, fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta; căci sînt nişte îndărătnici!

⁷You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.

⁸Tu, însă, fiul omului, ascultă ce-ţi spun! Nu fi îndărătnic, ca această casă de îndărătnici! Deschide-ţi gura, şi mănîncă ce-ţi voi da!``

⁸But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.

⁹M'am uitat, şi iată că o mînă era întinsă spre mine, şi ţinea o carte în chip de sul.

⁹When I looked, behold, a hand was put forth to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein;

¹⁰A desfăşurat -o înaintea mea, şi era scrisă şi pe dinlăuntru şi pe din afară; în ea erau scrise bocete, plîngeri şi gemete.

¹⁰He spread it before me: and it was written within and without; and there were written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
