¹,,Şi tu, fiul omului, ia o cărămidă, pune -o înaintea ta, şi sapă pe ea cetatea Ierusalimului.

¹You also, son of man, take a tile, and lay it before yourself, and portray on it a city, even Jerusalem:

²Înfăţişează -o împresurată, zideşte întărituri în jurul ei, înconjoară -o cu un şanţ de apărare, pune tabere de ostaşi împrejurul ei, şi ridică berbeci de fer împotriva ei de jur împrejur.

²and lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it; set camps also against it, and plant battering rams against it all around.

³Ia o tigaie de fer, şi pune -o, ca un zid de fer, între tine şi cetate; îndreaptă-ţi faţa împotriva ei, ca să fie împresurată, şi s'o strîmtorezi. Aceasta să fie un semn pentru casa lui Israel!

³Take for yourself an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city: and set your face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

⁴Apoi culcă-te pe coasta stîngă, şi pune pe ea nelegiuirea casei lui Israel; cîte zile vei sta culcat pe coasta aceasta, le vei purta nelegiuirea lor.

⁴Moreover lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; according to the number of the days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity.

⁵Îţi voi socoti un număr de zile deopotrivă cu acela al anilor nelegiuirii lor, şi anume trei sute nouăzeci de zile, în cari să porţi nelegiuirea casei lui Israel.

⁵For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be to you a number of days, even three hundred ninety days: so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

⁶După ce vei isprăvi aceste zile, culcă-te a doua oară pe coasta dreaptă, şi poartă nelegiuirea casei lui Iuda patru zeci de zile; îţi pun cîte o zi pentru fiecare an.

⁶Again, when you have accomplished these, you shall lie on your right side, and shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah: forty days, each day for a year, have I appointed it to you.

⁷Apoi întoarce-ţi faţa şi braţul desgolit spre Ierusalimul împresurat, şi prooroceşte împotriva lui.

⁷You shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with your arm uncovered; and you shall prophesy against it.

⁸Şi iată, voi pune funii peste tine, ca să nu poţi să te întorci de pe o coastă pe alta, pînă nu vei împlini zilele împresurării tale.

⁸Behold, I lay bands on you, and you shall not turn you from one side to the other, until you have accomplished the days of your siege.

⁹Ia-ţi şi grîu, orz, bob, linte, mei şi alac, pune-le într'un vas, şi fă pîne din ele cîte zile vei sta culcat pe coastă: trei sute nouă zeci de zile să mănînci din ele.

⁹Take for yourself also wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it; according to the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, even three hundred ninety days, you shall eat of it.

¹⁰Hrana pe care o vei mînca, s'o mănînci cu cîntarul şi anume cîte douăzeci de sicli pe zi: să mănînci din ea din cînd în cînd.

¹⁰Your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time you shall eat it.

¹¹Apa pe care o vei bea, o vei bea cu măsură şi anume cîte o şesime de hin; vei bea din ea din cînd în cînd.

¹¹You shall drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: from time to time you shall drink.

¹²Hrana s'o mănînci ca turte de orz, pe cari le vei coace în faţa lor cu balegă de om.``

¹²You shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it in their sight with dung that comes out of man.

¹³Şi Domnul a zis: ,,Aşa îşi vor mînca pînea spurcată copiii lui Israel printre neamurile printre cari îi voi izgoni.``

¹³Yahweh said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations where I will drive them.

¹⁴Eu am zis: ,,Ah! Doamne, Dumnezeule, iată, sufletul meu n'a fost pîngărit niciodată; din tinereţea mea şi pînă acum, niciodată n'am mîncat dintr'un dobitoc mort sau sfîşiat, şi nicio carne necurată n'a intrat în gura mea.``

¹⁴Then I said, Ah Lord Yahweh! behold, my soul has not been polluted; for from my youth up even until now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of animals; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

¹⁵El mi -a răspuns: ,,Ei bine, iată că îţi dau balegă de bou în loc de balegă omenească, şi-ţi vei face pînea pe ea.``

¹⁵Then he said to me, Behold, I have given you cow’s dung for man’s dung, and you shall prepare your bread thereon.

¹⁶El mi -a mai zis: ,,Fiul omului, iată că voi sfărîma toiagul pînii la Ierusalim, aşa că vor mînca pîne cu cîntarul, şi cu necaz, şi vor bea apă cu măsură şi cu groază.

¹⁶Moreover he said to me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with fearfulness; and they shall drink water by measure, and in dismay:

¹⁷Vor duce lipsă de pîne şi de apă, se vor uimi unii de alţii, şi se vor sfîrşi din pricina nelegiuirii lor.``

¹⁷that they may want bread and water, and be dismayed one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.
