¹Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

¹Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²,,Şi tu, fiul omului, ascultă: aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu, despre ţara lui Israel: ,Vine sfîrşitul, vine sfîrşitul peste cele patru margini ale ţării!

²You, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh to the land of Israel, An end: the end has come on the four corners of the land.

³Acum vine sfîrşitul peste tine; Îmi voi trimete mînia împotriva ta, te voi judeca după faptele tale. Şi te voi pedepsi pentru toate urîciunile tale.

³Now is the end on you, and I will send my anger on you, and will judge you according to your ways; and I will bring on you all your abominations.

⁴Ochiul Meu va fi fără milă pentru tine, şi nu Mă voi îndura, ci te voi pedepsi după faptele tale, cu toate că urîciunile tale vor fi în mijlocul tău şi ar trebui să te ajute. Şi veţi şti că Eu sînt Domnul.`

⁴My eye shall not spare you, neither will I have pity; but I will bring your ways on you, and your abominations shall be in the midst of you: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁵Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: ,Iată, vine o nenorocire, o nenorocire nemaipomenită!

⁵Thus says the Lord Yahweh: An evil, an only evil; behold, it comes.

⁶Vine sfîrşitul, vine sfîrşitul; se trezeşte împotriva ta! Iată că a şi venit!

⁶An end has come, the end has come; it awakes against you; behold, it comes.

⁷Îţi vine rîndul, locuitor al ţării! Vine vremea, se apropie ziua de necaz, şi nu de bucurie pe munţi!

⁷Your doom has come to you, inhabitant of the land: the time has come, the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting, on the mountains.

⁸Acum Îmi voi vărsa în curînd urgia peste tine, Imi voi potoli mînia peste tine; te voi judeca după faptele tale, şi te voi pedepsi pentru toate minciunile tale.

⁸Now will I shortly pour out my wrath on you, and accomplish my anger against you, and will judge you according to your ways; and I will bring on you all your abominations.

⁹Ochiul Meu va fi fără milă, şi nu Mă voi îndura; te voi pedepsi după faptele tale, măcar că urîciunile tale vor fi în mijlocul tău, şi ar trebui să te ajute. Şi veţi ştii că Eu sînt Domnul, cel ce loveşte!

⁹My eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will bring on you according to your ways; and your abominations shall be in the midst of you; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, do strike.

¹⁰Iată ziua! Iată -o că vine! Îţi vine rîndul! Înfloreşte toiagul, odrăsleşte mîndria!

¹⁰Behold, the day, behold, it comes: your doom is gone forth; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

¹¹Sîlnicia s'a înălţat, ca să slujească de toaiag răutăţii; nu mai rămîne nimic din ei, nici din gloata lor gălăgioasă, nici din bogăţia lor! Şi nimeni nu -i boceşte!

¹¹Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of their wealth. There shall be nothing of value among them.

¹²Vine vremea, se apropie ziua! Să nu se bucure cumpărătorul, să nu se mîhnească vînzătorul! Căci izbucneşte mînia împotriva întregei lor mulţimi.

¹²The time has come, the day draws near: don’t let the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for wrath is on all its multitude.

¹³Nu, vînzătorul nu va mai căpăta înapoi ce a vîndut, chiar dacă ar mai fi printre cei vii; căci proorocia împotriva întregei lor mulţimi nu va fi schimbată, şi din pricina nelegiuirii lui niciunul nu-şi va păstra viaţa.

¹³For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they be yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude of it, none shall return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

¹⁴Sună trîmbiţa, totul este gata, dar nimeni nu merge la luptă; căci urgia Mea izbucneşte împotriva întregei lor mulţimi.`

¹⁴They have blown the trumpet, and have made all ready; but none goes to the battle; for my wrath is on all its multitude.

¹⁵Afară bîntuie sabia, în casă ciuma şi foametea! Cine este la cîmp va muri de sabie, iar cine este în cetate va fi mîncat de foamete şi ciumă.

¹⁵The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine within: he who is in the field shall die with the sword: and he who is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

¹⁶Fugarii lor, cînd scapă, stau pe munţi, ca nişte porumbei ai văilor, văitîndu-se toţi, fiecare de nelegiuirea lui.

¹⁶But those of those who escape shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, every one in his iniquity.

¹⁷Mînile tuturor au slăbit, şi genunchii tuturor se topesc ca apa.

¹⁷All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.

¹⁸Se încing cu saci, şi -i apucă groaza. Toate feţele sînt acoperite de ruşine, şi toate capetele sînt rase.

¹⁸They shall also clothe themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be on all faces, and baldness on all their heads.

¹⁹Îşi vor arunca argintul pe uliţe, şi aurul lor le va fi o scîrbă. Argintul sau aurul lor nu poate să -i scape în ziua urgiei Domnului; nu poate nici să le sature sufletul, nici să le umple măruntaiele; căci el i -a aruncat în nelegiuirea lor.

¹⁹They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Yahweh: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; because it has been the stumbling block of their iniquity.

²⁰Se făleau cu podoaba lor măreaţă, şi cu ea au făcut icoanele urîciunilor lor, ale idolilor lor. De aceea le -o voi preface în scîrbă pentru ei.

²⁰As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty; but they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things therein: therefore have I made it to them as an unclean thing.

²¹O voi da de jaf în mînile străinilor, şi ca pradă nelegiuiţilor pămîntului ca s'o pîngărească.

²¹I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.

²²Îmi voi întoarce faţa dela ei, şi Mi se va pîngări Locaşul Meu cel sfînt; da, prădătorii vor pătrunde în el, şi -l vor pîngări.

²²My face will I turn also from them, and they shall profane my secret place; and robbers shall enter into it, and profane it.

²³Pregătiţi lanţurile! Căci ţara este plină de omoruri, şi cetatea este plină de sîlnicie.

²³Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.

²⁴Voi aduce popoarele cele mai rele, ca să pună mîna pe casele lor; voi pune capăt mîndriei celor puternici, şi sfintele lor locaşuri vor fi pîngărite.

²⁴Therefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pride of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be profaned.

²⁵Vine prăpădul! -Ei caută scăpare, dar scăpare nu -i!

²⁵Destruction comes; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

²⁶Vine nenorocire peste nenorocire, zvon după zvon. Ei cer vedenii proorocilor; dar preoţii nu mai cunosc Legea, şi bătrînii nu mai pot da sfaturi.

²⁶Mischief shall come on mischief, and rumor shall be on rumor; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

²⁷Împăratul jăleşte, voivodul se înspăimîntă, şi mînile poporului ţării tremură. Le voi face după umbletele lor, îi voi judeca după cuviinţă, şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.```

²⁷The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do to them after their way, and according to their own judgments will I judge them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
