1Întoarce-te, Israele, la Domnul, Dumnezeul tău! Căci ai căzut prin nelegiuirea ta.
1Israel, return to Yahweh your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.
2Aduceţi cu voi cuvinte de căinţă, şi întoarceţi-vă la Domnul. Spuneţi -I: ,,Iartă toate nelegiuirile, primeşte-ne cu bunăvoinţă, şi Îţi vom aduce, în loc de tauri, lauda buzelor noastre.
2Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him, “Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.
3Asirianul nu ne va scăpa, nu vrem să mai încălecăm pe cai, şi nu vrem să mai zicem lucrării mînilor noastre: ,Dumnezeul nostru!` Căci la Tine găseşte milă orfanul.``
3Assyria can’t save us. We won’t ride on horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’ for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”
4Le voi vindeca vătămarea adusă de neascultarea lor, îi voi iubi cu adevărat! Căci mînia Mea s'a abătut dela ei!
4“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from him.
5Voi fi ca roua pentru Israel; el va înflori ca crinul, şi va da rădăcini ca Libanul.
5I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon.
6Ramurile lui se vor întinde; măreţia lui va fi ca a măslinului, şi miresmele lui ca ale Libanului.
6His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.
7Iarăş vor locui la umbra lui, iarăş vor da viaţă grîului, vor înflori ca via, şi vor avea faima vinului din Liban.
7Men will dwell in his shade. They will revive like the grain, and blossom like the vine. Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
8Ce mai are Efraim a face cu idolii? Îl voi asculta şi -l voi privi, voi fi pentru el ca un chiparos verde: dela Mine îţi vei primi rodul. -
8Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green fir tree; from me your fruit is found.”
9Cine este înţelept, să ia seama la aceste lucruri! Cine este priceput, să le înţeleagă! Căci căile Domnului sînt drepte; şi cei drepţi umblă pe ele, dar cei răzvrătiţi cad pe ele
9Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them; But the rebellious stumble in them.
