1,,Bel se prăbuşeşte, Nebo cade; idolii lor sînt puşi pe vite şi dobitoace; idolii pe cari -i purtaţi voi au ajuns o sarcină, o povară pentru vita obosită!
1Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; their idols are on the animals, and on the livestock: the things that you carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary.
2Au căzut, s'au prăbuşit împreună, nu pot să scape povara; ei înşişi se duc în robie.
2They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves have gone into captivity.
3Ascultaţi-Mă, casa lui Iacov, şi toată rămăşiţa casei lui Israel, voi, pe cari v'am luat în spinare dela obîrşia voastră, pe cari v'am purtat pe umăr dela naşterea voastră:
3“Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne from their birth, that have been carried from the womb;
4pînă la bătrîneţa voastră Eu voi fi Acelaş, pînă la cărunteţele voastre vă voi sprijini. V'am purtat, şi tot vreau să vă mai port, să vă sprijinesc şi să vă mîntuiesc.
4and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver.
5Cu cine Mă veţi pune alături, ca să Mă asemănaţi? Cu cine Mă veţi asemăna, şi mă veţi potrivi?
5“To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
6Ei varsă aurul din pungă, şi cîntăresc argintul în cumpănă; tocmesc un arginatar să facă un dumnezeu din ele, şi se închină şi îngenunche înaintea lui.
6Some pour out gold from the bag, and weigh silver in the balance. They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god. They fall down—yes, they worship.
7Îl poartă, îl iau pe umăr, îl pun la locul lui; acolo rămîne, şi nu se mişcă din locul lui. Apoi strigă la el, dar nu răspunde, nici nu -i scapă din nevoie.
7They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it, and set it in its place, and it stands, from its place it shall not move: yes, one may cry to it, yet it can not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
8Ţineţi minte aceste lucruri, şi fiţi oameni! Veniţi-vă în fire, păcătoşilor.``
8“Remember this, and show yourselves men; bring it again to mind, you transgressors.
9,,Aduceţi-vă aminte de cele petrecute în vremile străbune; căci Eu sînt Dumnezeu, şi nu este altul, Eu sînt Dumnezeu, şi nu este niciunul ca Mine.
9Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me;
10Eu am vestit dela început ce are să se întîmple şi cu mult înainte ce nu este încă împlinit. Eu zic: ,Hotărîrile Mele vor rămînea în picioare, şi Îmi voi aduce la îndeplinire toată voia Mea.
10declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
11Eu chem dela răsărit o pasăre de pradă, dintr'o ţară depărtată, un om ca să împlinească planurile Mele: da, Eu am spus, şi Eu voi împlini; Eu am plănuit şi Eu voi înfăptui.
11calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country; yes, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed, I will also do it.
12Ascultaţi-Mă, oameni cu inima împietrită, vrăjmaşi ai neprihănirii!
12Listen to me, you stout-hearted, who are far from righteousness:
13Eu Îmi apropii neprihănirea: nu este departe; şi mîntuirea Mea nu va zăbovi. Eu voi pune mîntuirea Mea în Sion şi slava Mea peste Israel.``
13I bring near my righteousness, it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not wait; and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
