¹,,Vai de păstorii cari nimicesc şi risipesc turma păşunei mele, zice Domnul.``

¹Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says Yahweh.

²,,De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel, împotriva păstorilor cari pasc pe poporul meu: ,Pentrucă Mi-aţi risipit oile, le-aţi izgonit, şi nu v'aţi îngrijit de ele, iată că vă voi pedepsi din pricina răutăţii faptelor voastre, zice Domnul.``

²Therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings, says Yahweh.

³,,Şi Eu însumi voi strînge rămăşiţa oilor Mele din toate ţările, în cari le-am izgonit; le voi aduce înapoi în păşunea lor, şi vor creşte şi se vor înmulţi.

³I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

⁴Voi pune peste ele păstori cari le vor paşte; nu le va mai fi teamă, nici groază, şi nu va mai lipsi niciuna din ele, zice Domnul.``

⁴I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, says Yahweh.

⁵,,Iată vin zile, zice Domnul, cînd voi ridica lui David o Odraslă, neprihănită. El va împărăţi, va lucra cu înţelepciune, şi va face dreptate şi judecată în ţară.

⁵Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

⁶În vremea Lui, Iuda va fi mîntuit, şi Israel va avea linişte în locuinţa lui; şi iată Numele pe care i -L vor da: ,Domnul, Neprihănirea noastră!``

⁶In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name by which he shall be called: Yahweh our righteousness.

⁷,,De aceea iată, vin zile, zice Domnul, cînd nu se va mai zice: ,Viu este Domnul, care a scos din ţara Egiptului pe copiii lui Israel!`

⁷Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that they shall no more say, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

⁸Ci se va zice: ,Viu este Domnul, care a scos şi a adus înapoi sămînţa casei lui Israel din ţara dela miază noapte şi din toate ţările în cari îi risipisem! ,Şi vor locui în ţara lor.`

⁸but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them. They shall dwell in their own land.

⁹Asupra proorocilor. ,,Inima îmi este zdrobită în mine, toate oasele îmi tremură; sînt ca un om beat, ca un om ameţit de vin, din pricina Domnului şi din pricina sfintelor Lui cuvinte.

⁹Concerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of Yahweh, and because of his holy words.

¹⁰Căci ţara este plină de preacurvii, şi ţara se jăleşte din pricina jurămintelor; cîmpiile pustiei sînt uscate.`` Toată alergătura lor ţinteşte numai la rău, şi toată vitejia lor este pentru nelegiuire!

¹⁰For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;

¹¹Proorocii şi preoţii sînt stricaţi; ,,le-am găsit răutatea chiar şi în Casa Mea, zice Domnul.``

¹¹for both prophet and priest are profane; yes, in my house have I found their wickedness, says Yahweh.

¹²,,De aceea, calea lor va fi lunecoasă şi întunecoasă, vor fi împinşi şi vor cădea; căci voi aduce nenorocirea peste ei în anul cînd îi voi pedepsi, zice Domnul.``

¹²Therefore their way shall be to them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation, says Yahweh.

¹³,,În proorocii Samariei am văzut următoarea nebunie: au proorocit pe Baal, şi au rătăcit pe poporul Meu Israel!

¹³I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

¹⁴Dar în proorocii Ierusalimului am văzut lucruri grozave. Sînt preacurvari, trăiesc în minciună; întăresc mînile celor răi, aşa că nici unul nu se mai întoarce dela răutatea lui; toţi sînt înaintea Mea ca Sodoma, şi locuitorii Ierusalimului ca Gomora.``

¹⁴In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none does return from his wickedness: they are all of them become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.

¹⁵,,De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul oştirilor despre prooroci: iată, îi voi hrăni cu pelin, şi le voi da să bea ape otrăvite; căci prin proorocii Ierusalimului s'a răspîndit nelegiuirea în toată ţara.``

¹⁵Therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.

¹⁶,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul oştirilor: ,N'ascultaţi cuvintele proorocilor cari vă proorocesc! Ei vă leagănă în închipuiri zădarnice; spun vedenii ieşite din inima lor, nu ce vine din gura Domnului.

¹⁶Thus says Yahweh of Armies, Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.

¹⁷Ei spun celor ce Mă nesocotesc: ,Domnul a zis: ,Veţi avea pace;` şi zic tuturor celor ce trăiesc după aplecările inimii lor: ,Nu vi se va întîmpla niciun rău.`

¹⁷They say continually to those who despise me, Yahweh has said, You shall have peace; and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come on you.

¹⁸Cine a fost de faţă la sfatul Domnului ca să vadă şi să asculte cuvîntul Lui? Cine a plecat urechea la cuvîntul Lui şi cine l -a auzit?

¹⁸For who has stood in the council of Yahweh, that he should perceive and hear his word? who has marked my word, and heard it?

¹⁹Iată că furtuna Domnului, urgia izbucneşte, se năpusteşte vijelia şi cade peste capul celor răi!

¹⁹Behold, the storm of Yahweh, his wrath, has gone forth. Yes, a whirling storm. It shall burst on the head of the wicked.

²⁰Mînia Domnului nu se va potoli, pînă nu va împlini şi va înfăptui planurile inimii Lui. Veţi înţelege în totul lucrul acesta în cursul vremilor.

²⁰The anger of Yahweh shall not return, until he has executed, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand it perfectly.

²¹Eu n'am trimes pe proorocii aceştia, şi totuş ei au alergat; nu le-am vorbit, şi totuş au proorocit.

²¹I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.

²²Dacă ar fi fost faţă la sfatul Meu, ar fi trebuit să spună cuvintele Mele poporului Meu, şi să -i întoarcă dela calea lor rea, dela răutatea faptelor lor!``

²²But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

²³,,Sînt Eu numai un Dumnezeu de aproape, zice Domnul, şi nu sînt Eu şi un Dumnezeu de departe?

²³Am I a God at hand, says Yahweh, and not a God afar off?

²⁴Poate cineva să stea într'un loc ascuns fără să -l văd Eu? zice Domnul. Nu umplu Eu cerurile şi pămîntul? zice Domnul.

²⁴Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says Yahweh. Don’t I fill heaven and earth? says Yahweh.

²⁵,,Am auzit ce spun proorocii, cari proorocesc minciuni în Numele Meu, zicînd: ,Am avut un vis! Am visat un vis!`

²⁵I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

²⁶Pînă cînd vor prooroci aceştia să proorocescă minciuni, să proorocească înşelătoriile inimii lor?

²⁶How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

²⁷Cred ei oare că pot face pe poporul Meu să uite Numele Meu prin visurile pe cari le istoriseşte fiecare din ei aproapelui său, cum Mi-au uitat părinţii lor Numele din pricina lui Baal?

²⁷who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal.

²⁸Proorocul, care a avut un vis, să istorisească visul acesta, şi cine a auzit Cuvîntul Meu, să spună întocmai Cuvîntul Meu! ,Pentruce să amesteci paiele cu grîul? zice Domnul.``

²⁸The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? says Yahweh.

²⁹,,Nu este Cuvîntul Meu ca un foc, zice Domnul, şi ca un ciocan care sfărîmă stînca?``

²⁹Isn’t my word like fire? says Yahweh; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

³⁰,,De aceea, iată, zice Domnul, am necaz pe proorocii cari îşi ascund unul altuia cuvintele Mele.``

³⁰Therefore behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahweh, who steal my words everyone from his neighbor.

³¹,,Iată, zice Domnul, am necaz pe proorocii cari iau cuvîntul lor şi -l dau drept cuvînt al Meu.``

³¹Behold, I am against the prophets, says Yahweh, who use their tongues, and say, He says.

³²,,Iată, zice Domnul, am necaz pe cei ce proorocesc visuri neadevărate, cari le istorisesc şi rătăcesc pe poporul Meu, cu minciunile şi cu îndrăzneala lor; nu i-am trimes Eu, nu Eu le-am dat poruncă, şi nu sînt de niciun folos poporului acestuia, zice Domnul.``

³²Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says Yahweh, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I didn’t send them, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, says Yahweh.

³³,,Dacă poporul acesta, sau un prooroc, sau un preot te va întreba: ,Care este ameninţarea Domnului?` să le spui care este această ameninţare: ,Vă voi lepăda, zice Domnul.``

³³When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask you, saying, What is the burden of Yahweh? Then you shall tell them, What burden! I will cast you off, says Yahweh.

³⁴,,Şi pe proorocul, pe preotul, sau pe acela din popor care va zice: ,O ameninţare a Domnului,` îl voi pedepsi, pe el şi casa lui!

³⁴As for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, who shall say, The burden of Yahweh, I will even punish that man and his house.

³⁵Aşa să spuneţi însă, fiecare aproapelui său, fiecare fratelui său: ,Ce a răspuns Domnul?` Sau: ,Ce a zis Domnul?`

³⁵You shall say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, What has Yahweh answered? and, What has Yahweh spoken?

³⁶Dar să nu mai ziceţi: ,O ameninţare a Domnului,` căci cuvîntul fiecăruia va fi o ameninţare pentru el, dacă veţi suci astfel cuvintele Dumnezeului Celui viu, cuvintele Domnului oştirilor, Dumnezeului nostru!

³⁶You shall mention the burden of Yahweh no more: for every man’s own word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of Yahweh of Armies our God.

³⁷Aşa să zici proorocului: ,Ce ţi -a răspuns Domnul?` Sau: ,Ce a zis Domnul?`

³⁷You shall say to the prophet, What has Yahweh answered you? and, What has Yahweh spoken?

³⁸Dar dacă veţi mai zice: ,O ameninţare a Domnului,` atunci aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Pentrucă spuneţi cuvintele acestea: ,O ameninţare a Domnului,` măcar că am trimes să vă spună: Să nu mai ziceţi: O ameninţare a Domnului,

³⁸But if you say, The burden of Yahweh; therefore thus says Yahweh: Because you say this word, The burden of Yahweh, and I have sent to you, saying, You shall not say, The burden of Yahweh;

³⁹din pricina aceasta, iată, vă voi uita, şi vă voi lepăda, pe voi şi cetatea, pe care v'o dădusem vouă şi părinţilor voştri, vă voi arunca dinaintea Mea;

³⁹therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence:

⁴⁰şi voi pune peste voi o vecinică ocară, şi o vecinică necinste, care nu se va uita.``

⁴⁰and I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
