¹Isus, plin de Duhul Sfînt, S'a întors dela Iordan, şi a fost dus de Duhul în pustie,

¹Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

²unde a fost ispitit de diavolul timp de patruzeci de zile. N'a mîncat nimic în zilele acelea; şi, după ce au trecut acele zile, a flămînzit.

²for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.

³Diavolul I -a zis: ,,Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, porunceşte pietrei acesteia să se facă pîne.``

³The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

⁴Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Este scris: Omul nu va trăi numai cu pîne, ci cu orice cuvînt care iese din gura lui Dumnezeu.``

⁴Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” Deuteronomy 8:3

⁵Diavolul L -a suit pe un munte înalt, i -a arătat într'o clipă, toate împărăţiile pămîntului,

⁵The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶şi I -a zis: ,,Ţie Îţi voi da toată stăpînirea şi slava acestor împărăţii; căci mie îmi este dată, şi o dau oricui voiesc.

⁶The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.

⁷Dacă dar, Te vei închina înaintea mea, toată va fi a Ta.``

⁷If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”

⁸Drept răspuns, Isus i -a zis: ,,Înapoia Mea, Satano! Este scris: Să te închini Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, şi numai Lui să -I slujeşti.``

⁸Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” Deuteronomy 6:13

⁹Diavolul L -a dus apoi în Ierusalim, L -a aşezat pe straşina acoperişului Templului, şi I -a zis: ,,Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aruncă-Te jos de aici;``

⁹He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,

¹⁰căci este scris: ,,El va porunci îngerilor Lui să Te păzească;``

¹⁰for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’

¹¹şi: ,,Ei Te vor lua pe mîni, ca nu cumva să Te loveşti cu piciorul de vreo piatră.``

¹¹and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’” Psalm 91:11-12

¹²Isus i -a răspuns: ,,S'a spus: Să nu ispiteşti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău.``

¹²Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Deuteronomy 6:16

¹³După ce L -a ispitit în toate felurile, diavolul a plecat dela El, pînă la o vreme.

¹³When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.

¹⁴Isus, plin de puterea Duhului, S'a întors în Galilea, şi I s'a dus vestea în tot ţinutul deprimprejur.

¹⁴Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.

¹⁵El învăţa pe oameni în sinagogile lor, şi era slăvit de toţi.

¹⁵He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

¹⁶A venit în Nazaret, unde fusese crescut; şi, după obiceiul Său, în ziua Sabatului, a intrat în sinagogă. S'a sculat să citească,

¹⁶He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

¹⁷şi I s'a dat cartea proorocului Isaia. Cînd a deschis -o, a dat peste locul unde era scris:

¹⁷The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,

¹⁸,,Duhul Domnului este peste Mine, pentrucă M'a uns să vestesc săracilor Evanghelia; M'a trimes să tămăduiesc pe cei cu inima zdrobită, să propovăduiesc robilor de război slobozirea, şi orbilor căpătarea vederii; să dau drumul celor apăsaţi,

¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, NU omits “to heal the brokenhearted” to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

¹⁹şi să vestesc anul de îndurare al Domnului.``

¹⁹ and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Isaiah 61:1-2

²⁰În urmă, a închis cartea, a dat -o înapoi îngrijitorului, şi a şezut jos. Toţi ceice se aflau în sinagogă, aveau privirile pironite spre El.

²⁰He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.

²¹Atunci a început să le spună: ,,Astăzi s'au împlinit cuvintele acestea din Scriptură, pe cari le-aţi auzit.``

²¹He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

²²Şi toţi Îl vorbeau de bine, se mirau de cuvintele pline de har, cari ieşiau din gura Lui, şi ziceau: ,,Oare nu este acesta feciorul lui Iosif?``

²²All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

²³Isus le -a zis: ,,Fără îndoială, Îmi veţi spune zicala aceea: ,Doftore, vindecă-te pe tine însuţi`; şi Îmi veţi zice: ,Fă şi aici, în patria Ta, tot ce am auzit că ai făcut în Capernaum.``

²³He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”

²⁴,,Dar``, a adăugat El ,,adevărat vă spun că, niciun prooroc nu este primit bine în patria lui.

²⁴He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

²⁵Ba încă, adevărat vă spun că, pe vremea lui Ilie, cînd a fost încuiat cerul să nu dea ploaie trei ani şi şase luni, şi cînd a venit o foamete mare peste toată ţara, erau multe văduve în Israel;

²⁵ But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.

²⁶şi totuş Ilie n'a fost trimes la niciuna din ele, afară de o văduvă din Sarepta Sidonului.

²⁶ Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

²⁷Şi mulţi leproşi erau în Israel, pe vremea proorocului Elisei; şi totuş niciunul din ei n'a fost curăţit, afară de Naaman, Sirianul.``

²⁷ There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”

²⁸Toţi cei din sinagogă, cînd au auzit aceste lucruri, s'au umplut de mînie.

²⁸They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.

²⁹Şi s'au sculat, L-au scos afară din cetate, şi L-au dus pînă în sprînceana muntelui, pe care era zidită cetatea lor, ca să -L arunce jos în prăpastie.

²⁹They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.

³⁰Dar Isus a trecut prin mijlocul lor, şi a plecat de acolo.

³⁰But he, passing through their midst, went his way.

³¹S'a pogorît în Capernaum, cetate din Galilea, şi acolo învăţa pe oameni în ziua Sabatului.

³¹He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,

³²Ei erau uimiţi de învăţătura Lui, pentrucă vorbea cu putere.

³²and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.

³³În sinagogă se afla un om, care avea un duh de drac necurat, şi care a strigat cu glas tare:

³³In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

³⁴,,Ah! Ce avem noi a face cu Tine, Isuse din Nazaret? Ai venit să ne prăpădeşti? Te ştiu cine eşti: Sfîntul lui Dumnezeu.``

³⁴saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

³⁵Isus l -a certat, şi i -a zis: ,,Taci, şi ieşi afară din omul acesta!`` Şi dracul, dupăce l -a trîntit jos, în mijlocul adunării, a ieşit afară din el, fără să -i facă vreun rău.

³⁵Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

³⁶Toţi au fost cuprinşi de spaimă, şi ziceau unii către alţii: Ce înseamnă lucrul acesta? El porunceşte cu stăpînire şi cu putere duhurilor necurate, şi ele ies afară!``

³⁶Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

³⁷Şi I s'a dus vestea în toate împrejurimile.

³⁷News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.

³⁸Dupăce a ieşit din sinagogă, a intrat în casa lui Simon. Soacra lui Simon era prinsă de friguri mari, şi L-au rugat pentru ea.

³⁸He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.

³⁹El S'a plecat spre ea, a certat frigurile, şi au lăsat -o frigurile. Ea s'a sculat îndată, şi a început să le slujească.

³⁹He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

⁴⁰La asfinţitul soarelui, toţi cei ce aveau bolnavi atinşi de felurite boale, îi aduceau la El. El Îşi punea mînile peste fiecare din ei, şi -i vindeca.

⁴⁰When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

⁴¹Din mulţi ieşeau şi draci, cari strigau şi ziceau: ,,Tu eşti Hristosul, Fiul lui Dumnezeu.`` Dar El îi mustra, şi nu -i lăsa să vorbească, pentrucă ştiau că El este Hristosul.

⁴¹Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

⁴²Cînd s'a crăpat de ziuă, Isus a ieşit şi S'a dus într'un loc pustiu. Noroadele au început să -L caute în toate părţile, şi au ajuns pînă la El: voiau să -L oprească să nu plece dela ei.

⁴²When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them.

⁴³Dar El le -a zis: ,,Trebuie să vestesc Evanghelia Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu şi în alte cetăţi; fiindcă pentru aceasta am fost trimes.``

⁴³But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”

⁴⁴Şi propovăduia în sinagogile Galileii.

⁴⁴He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
