¹El le -a mai zis: ,,Adevărat vă spun, că sînt unii din ceice stau aici, cari nu vor muri pînă nu vor vedea împărăţia lui Dumnezeu venind cu putere.``

¹He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power.”

²După şase zile, Isus a luat cu El pe Petru, pe Iacov şi pe Ioan, şi i -a dus singuri de o parte pe un munte înalt. Acolo S'a schimbat la faţă înaintea lor.

²After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

³Hainele Lui s'au făcut strălucitoare şi foarte albe, de o albeaţă pe care nici un nălbitor de pe pămînt n'o poate da.

³His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.

⁴Ilie li s'a arătat împreună cu Moise, şi sta de vorbă cu Isus.

⁴Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.

⁵Petru a luat cuvîntul, şi a zis lui Isus: ,,Învăţătorule, este bine să stăm aici; să facem trei colibi: una pentru Tine, una pentru Moise, şi una pentru Ilie.``

⁵Peter answered Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

⁶Căci nu ştia ce să zică, atît de mare spaimă îi apucase.

⁶For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.

⁷A venit un nor şi i -a acoperit cu umbra lui; şi din nor s'a auzit un glas, care zicea: ,,Acesta este Fiul Meu prea iubit: de El să ascultaţi!``

⁷A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”

⁸Îndată, ucenicii s'au uitat împrejur, şi n'au mai văzut pe nimeni decît pe Isus singur cu ei.

⁸Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.

⁹Pe cînd se pogorau de pe munte, Isus le -a poruncit să nu spună nimănui ce au văzut, pînă va învia Fiul omului dintre cei morţi.

⁹As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

¹⁰Ei au păstrat în ei lucrul acesta, şi se întrebau între ei ce să însemne învierea aceea dintre cei morţi,

¹⁰They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.

¹¹Ucenicii I-au pus următoarea întrebare: ,,Pentruce zic cărturarii că trebuie să vină întîi Ilie?``

¹¹They asked him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

¹²El le -a răspuns: ,,Ilie va veni întîi; şi va aşeza din nou toate lucrurile; tot aşa după cum este scris despre Fiul omului că trebuie să pătimească mult şi să fie defăimat.

¹²He said to them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?

¹³Dar Eu vă spun că Ilie a şi venit, şi ei i-au făcut ce au vrut, după cum este scris despre el.``

¹³ But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”

¹⁴Cînd au ajuns la ucenici, au văzut mult norod împrejurul lor şi pe cărturari întrebîndu-se cu ei.

¹⁴Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.

¹⁵De îndată ce a văzut norodul pe Isus, s'a mirat, şi a alergat la El să I se închine.

¹⁵Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.

¹⁶El i -a întrebat: ,,Despre ce vă întrebaţi cu ei?``

¹⁶He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?”

¹⁷Şi un om din norod I -a răspuns: ,,Învăţătorule, am adus la Tine pe fiul meu, care este stăpînit de un duh mut.

¹⁷One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;

¹⁸Oriunde îl apucă, îl trînteşte la pămînt. Copilul face spumă la gură, scrîşneşte din dinţi, şi rămîne ţapăn. M'am rugat de ucenicii Tăi să scoată duhul, şi n'au putut.``

¹⁸and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”

¹⁹,,O neam necredincios!`` le -a zis Isus. ,,Pînă cînd voi fi cu voi? Pînă cînd vă voi suferi? Aduceţi -l la Mine.``

¹⁹He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

²⁰L-au adus la El. Şi, cum a văzut copilul pe Isus, duhul l -a scuturat cu putere; copilul a căzut la pămînt, şi se svîrcolea făcînd spumă la gură.

²⁰They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

²¹Isus a întrebat pe tatăl lui: ,,Cîtă vreme este de cînd îi vine aşa?`` ,,Din copilărie``, a răspuns el.

²¹He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.

²²,,Şi de multe ori duhul l -a aruncat cînd în foc, cînd în apă, ca să -l omoare. Dar dacă poţi face ceva, fie-Ţi milă de noi şi ajută-ne.``

²²Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

²³Isus a răspuns: ,,Tu zici: ,Dacă poţi!`... Toate lucrurile sînt cu putinţă celui ce crede!``

²³Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

²⁴Îndată tatăl copilului a strigat cu lacrămi: ,,Cred, Doamne! Ajută necredinţei mele!``

²⁴Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

²⁵Cînd a văzut Isus că norodul vine în fuga mare spre El, a mustrat duhul necurat, şi i -a zis: ,,Duh mut şi surd, îţi poruncesc să ieşi afară din copilul acesta, şi să nu mai intri în el.``

²⁵When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

²⁶Şi duhul a ieşit, ţipînd şi scuturîndu -l cu mare putere. Copilul a rămas ca mort, aşa că mulţi ziceau: ,,A murit!``

²⁶Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

²⁷Dar Isus l -a apucat de mînă, şi l -a ridicat. Şi el s'a sculat în picioare.

²⁷But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁸Cînd a intrat Isus în casă, ucenicii Lui L-au întrebat deoparte: ,,Noi de ce n'am putut să scoatem duhul acesta?``

²⁸When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

²⁹,,Acest soi de draci``, le -a zis El, ,,nu poate ieşi decît prin rugăciune şi post.``

²⁹He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”

³⁰Au plecat de acolo, şi au trecut prin Galilea. Isus nu voia să ştie nimeni că trece.

³⁰They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn’t want anyone to know it.

³¹Căci învăţa pe ucenicii Săi, şi zicea: ,,Fiul omului va fi dat în mînile oamenilor; ei Îl vor omorî, şi a treia zi după ce -L vor omorî, va învia.``

³¹For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

³²Dar ucenicii nu înţelegeau cuvintele acestea, şi se temeau să -L întrebe.

³²But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³Apoi au venit la Capernaum. Cînd era în casă, Isus i -a întrebat: ,,Despre ce vorbeaţi unul cu altul pe drum?``

³³He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

³⁴Dar ei tăceau, pentrucă pe drum se certaseră între ei, ca să ştie cine este cel mai mare.

³⁴But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.

³⁵Atunci Isus a şezut jos, a chemat pe cei doisprezece, şi le -a zis: ,,Dacă vrea cineva să fie cel dintîi, trebuie să fie cel mai de pe urmă din toţi şi slujitorul tuturor!``

³⁵He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”

³⁶Şi a luat un copilaş, şi l -a aşezat în mijlocul lor; apoi l -a luat în braţe, şi le -a zis:

³⁶He took a little child, and set him in their midst. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

³⁷,,Oricine primeşte pe unul din aceşti copilaşi, în Numele Meu, Mă primeşte pe Mine; şi oricine Mă primeşte pe Mine, nu Mă primeşte pe Mine, ci pe Cel ce M'a trimes pe Mine.``

³⁷ “Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”

³⁸Ioan I -a zis: ,,Învăţătorule, noi am văzut pe un om scoţînd draci în Numele Tău; şi l-am oprit, pentrucă nu venea după noi.``

³⁸John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow us.”

³⁹,,Nu -l opriţi``, a răspuns Isus, ,,căci nu este nimeni, care să facă minuni în Numele Meu, şi să Mă poată grăi de rău îndată după aceea.

³⁹But Jesus said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰Cine nu este împotriva noastră, este pentru noi.

⁴⁰ For whoever is not against us is on our side.

⁴¹Şi oricine vă va da de băut un pahar cu apă, în Numele Meu, pentrucă sînteţi ucenici ai lui Hristos, adevărat vă spun că nu-şi va pierde răsplata.

⁴¹ For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

⁴²Dar, dacă va face cineva să păcătuiască pe unul din aceşti micuţi, cari cred în Mine, ar fi mai bine pentru el să i se lege de gît o piatră mare de moară şi să fie aruncat în mare.

⁴² Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.

⁴³Dacă mîna ta te face să cazi în păcat, taie -o; este mai bine pentru tine să intri ciung în viaţă, decît să ai două mîni, şi să mergi în gheenă, în focul care nu se stinge,

⁴³ If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, or, Hell into the unquenchable fire,

⁴⁴unde viermele lor nu moare, şi focul nu se stinge.

⁴⁴ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴⁵Dacă piciorul tău te face să cazi în păcat, taie -l; este mai bine pentru tine să intri în viaţă şchiop, decît să ai două picioare, şi să fii aruncat în gheenă, în focul care nu se stinge,

⁴⁵ If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, or, Hell into the fire that will never be quenched—

⁴⁶unde viermele lor nu moare, şi focul nu se stinge.

⁴⁶ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴⁷Şi dacă ochiul tău te face să cazi în păcat, scoate -l; este mai bine pentru tine să intri în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu numai cu un ochi, decît să ai doi ochi şi să fii aruncat în focul gheenei,

⁴⁷ If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna or, Hell of fire,

⁴⁸unde viermele lor nu moare şi focul nu se stinge.

⁴⁸ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ Isaiah 66:24

⁴⁹Pentrucă fiecare om va fi sărat cu foc, şi orice jertfă va fi sărată cu sare.

⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.

⁵⁰Sarea este bună; dar dacă sarea îşi pierde puterea de a săra, cu ce îi veţi da înapoi puterea aceasta? Să aveţi sare în voi înşivă, şi să trăiţi în pace unii cu alţii.``

⁵⁰ Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
