²Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,

³Şecania, Rehum, Meremot,

³Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,

⁴Ido, Ghinetoi, Abia,

⁴Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,

⁵Miiamin, Maadia, Bilga,

⁵Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

⁶Şemaia, Ioiarib, Iedaia,

⁶Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah.

⁷Salu, Amoc, Hilchia, Iedaia. Aceştia au fost căpeteniile preoţilor şi a fraţilor lor, pe vremea lui Iosua. -

⁷Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brothers in the days of Jeshua.

⁸Leviţi: Iosua, Binui, Cadmiel, Şerebia, Iuda, Matania, care cîrmuia împreună cu fraţii săi cîntarea laudelor;

⁸Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brothers.

⁹Bacbuchia şi Uni, cari îşi împlineau slujbele lîngă fraţii lor.

⁹Also Bakbukiah and Unno, their brothers, were over against them according to their offices.

¹⁰Iosua a născut pe Ioiachim, Ioiachim a născut pe Eliaşib, Eliaşib a născut pe Ioiada,

¹⁰Jeshua became the father of Joiakim, and Joiakim became the father of Eliashib, and Eliashib became the father of Joiada,

¹¹Ioiada a născut pe Ionatan, şi Ionatan a născut pe Iadua.

¹¹and Joiada became the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan became the father of Jaddua.

²²Pe vremea lui Eliaşib, lui Ioiada, lui Iohanan şi lui Iadua, Leviţii, capi de familii, şi preoţii, au fost scrişi, supt domnia lui Dariu, Persanul.

²²As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, there were recorded the heads of fathers’ households; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian.

²³Fiii lui Levi, capi de familii, au fost scrişi în cartea Cronicilor pînă pe vremea lui Iohanan, fiul lui Eliaşib.

²³The sons of Levi, heads of fathers’ households, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

²⁴Căpeteniile Leviţilor, Haşabia, Şerebia, şi Iosua, fiul lui Cadmiel, şi fraţii lor împreună cu ei, stînd unii în faţa altora, erau însărcinaţi să mărească şi să laude pe Domnul, după rînduiala lui David, omul lui Dumnezeu.

²⁴The chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch next to watch.

²⁵Matania, Bacbuchia, Obadia, Meşulam, Talmon şi Acub, uşieri, făceau de strajă la cămările dela porţi.

²⁵Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the watch at the storehouses of the gates.

²⁶Ei trăiau pe vremea lui Ioiachim, fiul lui Iosua, fiul lui Ioţadac, şi pe vremea lui Neemia, dregătorul, şi pe vremea preotului şi cărturarului Ezra.

²⁶These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe.

²⁷La sfinţirea zidurilor Ierusalimului, au chemat pe Leviţi din toate locurile în cari locuiau, şi i-au adus la Ierusalim, ca să prăznuiască sfinţirea şi sărbătoarea cu laude şi cîntări, în sunet de chimvale, alăute şi arfe.

²⁷At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with giving thanks, and with singing, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and with harps.

²⁸Fiii cîntăreţilor s'au strîns din împrejurimile Ierusalimului, din satele slujitorilor Templului,

²⁸The sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain around Jerusalem, and from the villages of the Netophathites;

²⁹din Bet-Ghilgal, şi din ţinutul Ghebei şi din Azmavet; căci cîntăreţii îşi zidiseră sate împrejurul Ierusalimului.

²⁹also from Beth Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had built them villages around Jerusalem.

³⁰Preoţii şi Leviţii s'au curăţit, şi au curăţit şi pe popor, porţile şi zidul.

³⁰The priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

³¹Am suit pe zid pe căpeteniile lui Iuda, şi am făcut două coruri mari. Cel dintîi a pornit pe partea dreaptă a zidului, spre poarta gunoiului.

³¹Then I brought up the princes of Judah on the wall, and appointed two great companies who gave thanks and went in procession. One went on the right hand on the wall toward the dung gate;

³²În urma acestui cor mergeau Hosea şi jumătate din căpeteniile lui Iuda,

³²and after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,

³³Azaria, Ezra, Meşulam,

³³and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,

³⁴Iuda, Beniamin, Şemaia, şi Ieremia,

³⁴Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,

³⁵unii din fiii preoţilor cu trîmbiţe, Zaharia, fiul lui Ionatan, fiul lui Şemaia, fiul lui Matania, fiul lui Mica, fiul lui Zacur, fiul lui Asaf,

³⁵and certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph;

³⁶şi fraţii săi, Şemaia, Azareel, Milalai, Ghilalai, Maai, Netaneel, Iuda şi Hanani, cu instrumentele de muzică ale lui David, omul lui Dumnezeu. Cărturarul Ezra era în fruntea lor.

³⁶and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.

³⁷La poarta izvorului, s'au suit drept înainte pe treptele cetăţii lui David pe ridicătura zidului, deasupra casei lui David, pînă la poarta apelor, spre răsărit.

³⁷By the spring gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even to the water gate eastward.

³⁸Al doilea cor a pornit spre stînga. În urma lui veneam eu cu cealaltă jumătate din popor, pe zid. Trecînd pe deasupra turnului cuptoarelor, au mers pînă la zidul cel lat;

³⁸The other company of those who gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, on the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even to the broad wall,

³⁹apoi pe deasupra porţii lui Efraim, pedeasupra porţii celei vechi, pe deasupra porţii peştilor, pe deasupra turnului lui Hananeel şi pe deasupra turnului Mea, pînă la poarta oilor. Şi s'au oprit la poarta temniţei.

³⁹and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard.

⁴⁰Cele două coruri s'au oprit în Casa lui Dumnezeu; şi tot aşa şi eu şi dregătorii cari erau cu mine,

⁴⁰So stood the two companies of those who gave thanks in God’s house, and I, and the half of the rulers with me;

⁴¹şi preoţii Eliachim, Maaseia, Miniamin, Mica, Elioenai, Zaharia, Hanania, cu trîmbiţe,

⁴¹and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

⁴²şi Maaseia, Şemaia, Eleazar, Uzi, Iohanan, Malchia, Elam şi Ezer. Cîntăreţii şi-au înălţat glasul, cîrmuiţi de Izrahia.

⁴²and Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.

⁴³În ziua aceea s'au adus multe jertfe, şi a fost mare bucurie, căci Dumnezeu dăduse poporului o mare pricină de bucurie. Se bucurau şi femeile şi copiii, şi strigătele de bucurie ale Ierusalimului se auzeau pînă departe.

⁴³They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

⁴⁴În ziua aceea, s'au rînduit oameni cari să privegheze asupra odăilor cari slujeau de cămări pentru darurile de mîncare, cele dintîi roade şi zeciuieli. Ei au fost însărcinaţi să adune în ele, din ţinutul cetăţilor, părţile hotărîte de Lege preoţilor şi Leviţilor. Căci Iuda se bucura că preoţii şi Leviţii erau la locul lor,

⁴⁴On that day were men appointed over the rooms for the treasures, for the wave offerings, for the first fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites who waited.

⁴⁵păzind tot ce privea slujba lui Dumnezeu şi a curăţirilor. Cîntăreţii şi uşierii îşi împlineau şi ei slujbele, după rînduiala lui David şi a fiului său Solomon.

⁴⁵They performed the duty of their God, and the duty of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.

⁴⁶Căci odinioară, pe vremea lui David şi lui Asaf, erau căpetenii peste cîntăreţi şi cîntări de laudă şi de mulţămire în cinstea lui Dumnezeu.

⁴⁶For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

⁴⁷Tot Israelul a dat pe vremea lui Zorobabel şi Neemia, părţile cuvenite cîntăreţilor şi uşierilor, zi de zi; au dat Leviţilor lucrurile sfinţite, iar Leviţii au dat fiilor lui Aaron lucrurile sfinţite cuvenite lor.

⁴⁷All Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required: and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
