⁸They shall keep all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting, and the obligations of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

⁹Să dai pe Leviţi lui Aaron şi fiilor lui; ei să -i fie daţi lui în totul, din partea copiilor lui Israel.

⁹You shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons. They are wholly given to him on the behalf of the children of Israel.

¹⁰Pe Aaron şi pe fiii lui să -i pui să păzească slujba preoţiei lor; iar străinul care se va apropia, să fie pedepsit cu moartea.``

¹⁰You shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

¹¹Domnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

¹¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

¹²,,Iată că am luat pe Leviţi din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, în locul tuturor întîilor născuţi, cari se nasc întăi dintre copiii lui Israel; şi Leviţii vor fi ai Mei.

¹²“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn who open the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine:

¹³Căci orice întîi născut este al Meu; în ziua cînd am lovit pe toţi întîii născuţi din ţara Egiptului, Mi-am închinat Mie pe toţi întîii născuţi din Israel, atît din oameni cît şi din dobitoace: ei vor fi ai Mei. Eu sînt Domnul.``

¹³for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I made holy to me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and animal. They shall be mine. I am Yahweh.”

¹⁴Domnul a vorbit lui Moise, în pustia Sinai, şi a zis:

¹⁴Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

¹⁵,,Fă numărătoarea copiilor lui Levi, după casele părinţilor lor, după familiile lor; şi anume, fă numărătoarea tuturor celor de parte bărbătească, dela vîrsta de o lună în sus.

¹⁵“Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families. You shall count every male from a month old and upward.”

¹⁶Moise le -a făcut numărătoarea, după porunca Domnului, întocmai cum poruncise.

¹⁶Moses numbered them according to the word of Yahweh, as he was commanded.

¹⁷Iată cari sînt fiii lui Levi, după numele lor: Gherşon, Chehat şi Merari. -

¹⁷These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

¹⁸Iată numele fiilor lui Gherşon, după familiile lor: Libni şi Şimei.

³⁰Căpetenia casei părinteşti a familiilor Chehatiţilor era Eliţafan, fiul lui Uziel.

³⁰The prince of the fathers’ house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

³⁸Those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

³⁹Toţi Leviţii a căror numărătoare au făcut -o Moise şi Aaron, după porunca Domnului, după familiile lor, toţi bărbaţii, dela vîrsta de o lună în sus, au fost douăzeci şi două de mii.

³⁹All who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Yahweh, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

⁴⁰Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Fă numărătoarea tuturor întîilor născuţi de parte bărbătească dintre copiii lui Israel, dela vîrsta de o lună în sus, şi numără -i după numele lor.

⁴⁰Yahweh said to Moses, “Number all the firstborn males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

⁴¹Să iei pe Leviţi pentru Mine, Domnul, în locul tuturor întîilor născuţi din copiii lui Israel, şi vitele Leviţilor în locul tuturor întîilor născuţi din vitele copiilor lui Israel!``

⁴¹You shall take the Levites for me (I am Yahweh) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the livestock of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the livestock of the children of Israel.”

⁴²Moise a făcut numărătoarea tuturor întîilor născuţi dintre copiii lui Israel, după porunca pe care i -o dăduse Domnul.

⁴²Moses numbered, as Yahweh commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

⁴³Toţi întîii născuţi de parte bărbătească, a căror numărătoare au făcut -o, numărîndu-le numele, dela vîrsta de o lună în sus, au fost douăzeci şi două de mii două sute şapte zeci şi trei.

⁴³All the firstborn males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those who were numbered of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.

⁴⁴Domnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

⁴⁴Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁴⁵,,Ia pe Leviţi în locul tuturor întîilor născuţi din copiii lui Israel, şi vitele Leviţilor în locul vitelor lor; şi Leviţii vor fi ai Mei. Eu sînt Domnul.

⁴⁵“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am Yahweh.

⁴⁶Pentru răscumpărarea celor două sute şaptezeci şi trei, cari trec peste numărul Leviţilor, dintre întîii născuţi ai copiilor lui Israel,

⁴⁸and you shall give the money, with which their remainder is redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.”
