1Keď liečim Izraela, zjavuje sa neprávosť Efraimova a všelijaká zlosť Samárie, lebo robia falošne, a ide zlodej; vonku rabuje rota zbojníkov.
1`When I give healing to Israel, Then revealed is the iniquity of Ephraim, And the wickedness of Samaria, For they have wrought falsehood, And a thief doth come in, Stript off hath a troop in the street,
2Ani si nepovedia vo svojom srdci, že pamätám na všetku ich nešľachetnosť. Teraz ich obkľučujú ich skutky; sú pred mojou tvárou.
2And they do not say to their heart, [That] all their evil I have remembered, Now compassed them have their doings, Over-against My face they have been.
3Svojou nešľachetnosťou obveseľujú kráľa a svojimi klamstvami kniežatá.
3With their wickedness they make glad a king, And with their lies — princes.
4Všetci, koľko ich je, cudzoložia; podobní sú peci, vykúrenej od pekára; ten, kto roznecuje, prestane roznecovať iba od zarobenia cesta do jeho skysnutia.
4All of them [are] adulterers, Like a burning oven of a baker, He ceaseth from stirring up after kneading the dough, till its leavening.
5Deň nášho kráľa? Chorým ho urobily kniežatá rozpálením od vína; naťahuje svoju ruku s posmievačmi.
5A day of our king! Princes have polluted themselves [with] the poison of wine, He hath drawn out his hand with scorners.
6Lebo priblížili svoje srdce ku svojim úkladom ako pec; ich pekár spí celú noc; ráno horí ich srdce jako plápolajúci oheň.
6For they have drawn near, As an oven [is] their heart, In their lying in wait all the night sleep doth their baker, Morning! he is burning as a flaming fire.
7Všetci sú rozpálení jako pec a žerú svojich sudcov; všetci ich kráľovia popadali; nie je medzi nimi nikoho, kto by volal ku mne.
7All of them are warm as an oven, And they have devoured their judges, All their kings have fallen, There is none calling unto Me among them.
8Efraim sa smiešal s národami; Efraim je podpopolným chlebom neobráteným.
8Ephraim! among peoples he mixeth himself, Ephraim hath been a cake unturned.
9Cudzinci požierajú jeho silu, a on nevie o tom, i šedina ho už poprskala, a on nevie ničoho.
9Devoured have strangers his power, And he hath not known, Also old age hath sprinkled [itself] on him, And he hath not known.
10Pýcha Izraelova svedčí do jeho tvári, ale sa nenavrátili k Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, ani ho nehľadajú napriek všetkému tomu.
10And humbled hath been the excellency of Israel to his face, And they have not turned back unto Jehovah their God, Nor have they sought Him for all this.
11A tak je Efraim ako sprostá holubica, bez srdca, ktorá nemá rozumu. Volajú Egypt, idú do Assýrie!
11And Ephraim is as a simple dove without heart, Egypt they called on — [to] Asshur they have gone.
12Hneď, ako odídu, rozostriem na nich svoju sieť; stiahnem ich dolu jako nebeské vtáctvo; budem ich trestať podľa toho, čo sa slýchalo v ich shromaždení.
12When they go I spread over them My net, As the fowl of the heavens I bring them down, I chastise them as their company hath heard.
13Oj, beda im, že odišli odo mňa! Zkaza im, pretože zradne odpadli odo mňa, kým som ich predsa ja vykúpil, a oni hovoria proti mne lži.
13Wo to them, for they wandered from Me, Destruction to them, for they transgressed against Me, And I — I ransom them, and they have spoken lies against Me,
14Nekričia ku mne svojím srdcom, ale zavýjajú na svojich ložiach; shromažďujú sa pre obilie a pre vínnu šťavu; uhli proti mne.
14And have not cried unto Me with their heart, but howl on their beds, For corn and new wine they assemble themselves, They turn aside against Me.
15A ja, ktorý som ich trestal nato, aby som posilnil ich ramená, proti mne vymýšľajú zlé.
15And I instructed — I strengthened their arms, And concerning Me they think evil!
16Obracajú sa, ale nie k Najvyššiemu; sú jako klamné lučište; ich kniežatá padnú mečom, od zúrenia ich jazyka; to bude na nich posmech v Egyptskej zemi.
16They turn back — not to the Most High, They have been as a deceitful bow, Fall by sword do their princes, From the insolence of their tongue, This [is] their derision in the land of Egypt!
