¹Takto mi povedal Hospodin: Iď a kúpiš si ľanový opasok a opášeš ho na svoje bedrá, ale ho nedáš do vody.

¹Thus said Jehovah unto me, `Go, and thou hast got for thee a girdle of linen, and hast placed it on thy loins, and into water thou dost not cause it to enter:`

²A tak som kúpil opasok podľa slova Hospodinovho a opásal som ho na svoje bedrá.

²and I get the girdle, according to the word of Jehovah, and I place [it] on my loins.

³Potom stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne po druhé povediac:

³And there is a word of Jehovah unto me a second time, saying,

⁴Vezmi opasok, ktorý si kúpil, ktorý je na tvojich bedrách, a vstanúc idi k Eufratu a skry ho tam v skalnej trhline.

⁴`Take the girdle that thou hast got, that [is] on thy loins, and rise, go to Phrat, and hide it there in a hole of the rock;

⁵A odišiel som a skryl som ho pri Eufrate tak, ako mi prikázal Hospodin.

⁵and I go and hide it by Phrat, as Jehovah commanded me.

⁶Potom stalo sa po mnohých dňoch, že mi povedal Hospodin: Vstaň, idi k Eufratu a vezmi odtiaľ opasok, o ktorom som ti prikázal, aby si ho tam skryl.

⁶And it cometh to pass, at the end of many days, that Jehovah saith unto me, `Rise, go to Phrat, and take thence the girdle, that I commanded thee to hide there;`

⁷A išiel som k Eufratu a vykopúc vzal som opasok z miesta, kde som ho bol skryl. A hľa, opasok bol zkazený, nehodil sa na nič.

⁷and I go to Phrat, and dig, and take the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and lo, the girdle hath been marred, it is not profitable for anything.

⁸Vtedy stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

⁸And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Thus said Jehovah:

⁹Takto hovorí Hospodin: Takto zkazím pýchu Júdovu i mnohú pýchu Jeruzalema,

⁹Thus do I mar the excellency of Judah, And the great excellency of Jerusalem.

¹⁰tohoto zlostného ľudu, ktorí nechcú poslúchať moje slová, ktorí chodia podľa umienenosti svojho srdca a chodia za inými bohmi, aby im slúžili a aby sa im klaňali. A bude jako tento opasok, ktorý sa nehodí na nič.

¹⁰This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, Who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, And go after other gods to serve them, And to bow themselves to them, Yea it is — as this girdle, that is not profitable for anything.

¹¹Lebo jako sa pojí opasok k bedrám muža, tak som bol pripojil k sebe celý dom Izraelov a celý dom Júdov, hovorí Hospodin, aby mi boli ľudom a na meno, na chválu a na ozdobu, ale neposlúchali.

¹¹For, as the girdle cleaveth unto the loins of a man, So I caused to cleave unto Me The whole house of Israel, And the whole house of Judah, an affirmation of Jehovah, To be to Me for a people, and for a name, And for praise, and for beauty, And they have not hearkened.

¹²A povieš im toto slovo: Takto hovorí Hospodin, Bôh Izraelov: Každý žbán sa naplní vínom. A povedia ti: Či my nevieme dobre, že sa každý žbán naplní vínom?

¹²And thou hast said unto them this word, Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, `Every bottle is full of wine,` And they have said unto thee: `Do we not certainly know that every bottle is full of wine?`

¹³A povieš im: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Hľa, naplním všetkých obyvateľov tejto zeme i kráľov, ktorí sedia Dávidovi na jeho tróne, i kňazov i prorokov i všetkých obyvateľov Jeruzalema opilosťou.

¹³And thou hast said unto them, `Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness,

¹⁴A porozrážam ich jedného o druhého, a to otcov i synov spolu, hovorí Hospodin. Nebudem šetriť ani nebudem ľutovať ani sa nezľutujem tak, aby som ich nezkazil.

¹⁴And have dashed them one against another, And the fathers and the sons together, An affirmation of Jehovah, I do not pity, nor spare, nor have I mercy, So as not to destroy them.

¹⁵Počujte, nakloňte svoje uši, nebuďte vysokomyseľní, lebo Hospodin hovorí!

¹⁵Hear, and give ear — be not haughty, For Jehovah hath spoken.

¹⁶Dajte Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, slávu, prv ako uvedie tmu, a prv ako a zurážajú vaše nohy na vrchoch mrákavy. Lebo potom budete čakať na svetlo, ale ho obráti na tôňu smrti, premení ho na mrákavu.

¹⁶Give ye to Jehovah your God honour, Before He doth cause darkness, And before your feet stumble on dark mountains, And ye have waited for light, And He hath made it for death-shade, And hath appointed [it] for thick darkness.

¹⁷Ak neposlúchnete toho, na skrytých miestach bude plakať moja duša pre vašu prostopaš a potečie slzami, a moje oko bude roniť horké slzy, lebo zajaté bude stádo Hospodinovo.

¹⁷And if ye do not hear it, In secret places doth my soul weep, because of pride, Yea, it weepeth sore, And the tear cometh down mine eyes, For the flock of Jehovah hath been taken captive.

¹⁸Povedz kráľovi i kráľovnej: Sadnite hlboko dolu, lebo sostúpi ozdoba vašej hlavy, koruna vašej slávy.

¹⁸Say to the king and to the mistress: Make yourselves low — sit still, For come down have your principalities, The crown of your beauty.

¹⁹Mestá juhu budú pozavierané, a nebude nikoho, kto by otvoril; do zajatia bude prestehované celé Judsko, bude úplne prestehované.

¹⁹The cities of the south have been shut up, And there is none opening, Judah hath been removed — all of her, She hath been removed completely —

²⁰Pozdvihnite svoje oči a vidzte tých, ktorí prichádzajú od severa! Kde je to stádo, ktoré ti bolo dané, dcéro Júdova, drobné stádo tvojej slávy?

²⁰Lift up your eyes, and see those coming in from the north, Where [is] the drove given to thee, thy beautiful flock?

²¹Čo povieš, keď ustanoví nad tebou za hlavu tých, ktorých si ty sama učila byť kniežatami nad tebou? Či ťa nepochytia bolesti jako ženu, ktorá ide porodiť?

²¹What dost thou say, when He looketh after thee? And thou — thou hast taught them [to be] over thee — leaders for head? Do not pangs seize thee as a travailing woman?

²²A keď povieš vo svojom srdci: Prečo by maly tie veci prijsť na mňa? Pre množstvo tvojej neprávosti budú odhalené tvoje podolky, trýznené budú tvoje päty.

²²And when thou dost say in thy heart, `Wherefore have these met me?` For the abundance of thine iniquity Have thy skirts been uncovered, Have thy heels suffered violence.

²³Či voľakedy zmení murín svoju kožu alebo pardus svoje škvrny? Tak aj vy budete môcť robiť dobré naučiac sa robiť zlé.

²³Doth a Cushite change his skin? and a leopard his spots? Ye also are able to do good, who are accustomed to do evil.

²⁴A preto ich rozptýlim ako plevy, ktoré ta idú s vetrom na púšti.

²⁴And I scatter them as stubble, Passing away, by a wind of the wilderness.

²⁵To bude tvoj los, podiel, tebe odmeraný odo mňa, hovorí Hospodin, pretože si zabudla na mňa a nadejala si sa na faloš.

²⁵This [is] thy lot, the portion of thy measures from Me — an affirmation of Jehovah, Because thou hast forgotten me, And dost trust in falsehood.

²⁶Preto i ja vykašem tvoje podolky nad tvoju tvár, a tak sa bude vidieť tvoja hanba;

²⁶I also have made bare thy skirts before thy face, And thy shame hath been seen.

²⁷tvoje cudzoložstvá, tvoje rehotanie, mrzkosť tvojeho smilstva na kopcoch na poli; videl som tvoje hnusoby. Oj, beda tebe, Jeruzaleme! Či len nebudeš čistý? Dokedy ešte?

²⁷Thine adulteries, and thy neighings, The wickedness of thy whoredom, on heights in a field, I have seen thine abominations. Wo to thee, O Jerusalem, Thou art not cleansed, after when [is it] again?
