¹Takto hovorí Hospodin: Sídi do domu judského kráľa a tam budeš hovoriť toto slovo

¹Thus said Jehovah, `Go down [to] the house of the king of Judah, and thou hast spoken there this word, and hast said,

²a povieš: Počuj slovo Hospodinovo, judský kráľu, ktorý sedíš na tróne Dávidovom, ty i tvoji služobníci i tvoj ľud, vy, ktorí vchádzavate týmito bránami:

²Hear a word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, who art sitting on the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people, who are coming in at these gates,

³Takto hovorí Hospodin: Konajte súd a spravedlivosť a vytrhnite olupovaného z ruky utlačovateľa a nečiňte krivdy, nečiňte násilia pohostínovi, sirote a vdove a nevylievajte nevinnej krvi na tomto mieste!

³Thus said Jehovah: Do ye judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, ye do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood ye do not shed in this place.

⁴Lebo ak naozaj budete činiť túto vec, vtedy budú vchádzať bránami tohoto domu kráľovia, ktorí budú sedieť Dávidovi na jeho tróne voziac sa na vozoch a jazdiac na koňoch, on, kráľ i jeho služobníci i jeho ľud.

⁴For, if ye certainly do this thing, Then come in by the gates of this house Have kings sitting for David on his throne, Riding on chariot, and on horses, He, and his servants, and his people.

⁵Ale ak nebudete poslúchať tieto slová, prisahám sám na seba, hovorí Hospodin, že bude púšťou tento dom.

⁵And if ye do not hear these words, By myself I have sworn — an affirmation of Jehovah, That this house is for a desolation.

⁶Lebo takto hovorí Hospodin o dome judského kráľa: Si mi jako Gileád, ako vrchol Libanona, ale istotne ťa obrátim na pustinu, na neobydlené mestá.

⁶For thus said Jehovah, Concerning the house of the king of Judah: Gilead [art] thou to Me — head of Lebanon, If not — I make thee a wilderness, Cities not inhabited.

⁷A vysvätím a tak pristrojím na teba zhubcov, každého s jeho zbraňou, ktorí pozotínajú tvoje najvýbornejšie cedry a pohádžu na oheň.

⁷And I have separated for thee destroyers, Each with his weapons, And they have cut down the choice of thy cedars, And have cast them on the fire.

⁸A prejdú mnohé národy popri tomto meste a povedia druh druhovi: Prečo tak učinil Hospodin tomuto veľkému mestu?

⁸And many nations have passed by this city, And they have said, each to his neighbour, For what hath Jehovah done thus to this great city?

⁹A rieknu: Pretože opustili smluvu Hospodina, svojho Boha, a klaňali sa iným bohom a slúžili im.

⁹And they have said, `Because that they have forsaken The covenant of Jehovah their God, And bow themselves to other gods, and serve them.`

¹⁰Neplačte nad mŕtvym ani ho neľutujte, lež áno, plačte za tým, ktorý ta ide, lebo sa viac nenavráti ani už neuvidí svojej rodnej zeme.

¹⁰Ye do not weep for the dead, nor bemoan for him, Weep ye sore for the traveller, For he doth not return again, Nor hath he seen the land of his birth.

¹¹Lebo takto hovorí Hospodin o Šallúmovi, synovi Joziáša, judského kráľa, ktorý kraľuje miesto Joziáša, svojeho otca, ktorý vyjde z tohoto miesta: Nenavráti sa sem viacej.

¹¹For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again;

¹²Ale na mieste, kam ho prestehujú, tam zomrie a neuvidí už viac tejto zeme.

¹²For in the place whither they have removed him he dieth, And this land he doth not see again.

¹³Beda tomu, kto stavia svoj dom nespravedlivosťou a svoje horné dvorany na postreší nepravým súdom, kto robotí svojím blížnym darmo a nedá mu jeho mzdy,

¹³Wo to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbour he layeth service for nought, And his wage he doth not give to him.

¹⁴kto hovorí: Vystavím si dom veľkých rozmerov a horné dvorany priestranné! A prelamuje si okná, pokrýva cedrinou a natiera farbou na červeno.

¹⁴Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,` And he hath cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermillion.

¹⁵Či sa nazdáš, že budeš kraľovať preto, že závodíš v cedrách? Hľa, tvoj otec, či ten nejedol a nepil? A keď činil súd a spravedlivosť, vtedy mu bolo dobre.

¹⁵Dost thou reign, because thou art fretting thyself in cedar? Thy father — did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him.

¹⁶Keď riešil pravotu chudobného a biedneho, vtedy bolo dobre. Či nie je to ono, znať mňa? hovorí Hospodin.

¹⁶He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well — is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Jehovah.

¹⁷Ale tvoje oči nehľadia a tvoje srdce nemyslí na iné ako na tvoje lakomstvo a na nevinnú krv, aby si ju vylial, na útisk a na zlomenie spáchať to.

¹⁷But thine eyes and thy heart are not, Except on thy dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence.

¹⁸Preto takto hovorí Hospodin o Jehojakimovi, synovi Joziáša, judského kráľa: Nebudú za ním plakať a hovoriť: Oj, môj brat! Alebo: Oj, moja sestro! Nebudú za ním plakať a nepovedia: Oj, pane! Alebo: Oj, jeho veličenstvo!

¹⁸Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honour.

¹⁹Pochovajú ho jako osla, vyvlečú a vyvrhnú von za brány Jeruzalema!-

¹⁹The burial of an ass — he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem.

²⁰Vyjdi hore na Libanon a krič, ó, dcéro Jeruzalema, a vydaj svoj hlas v Bázane a krič s vrchu Abárim, lebo sú skrúšení všetci tvoji milenci!

²⁰Go up to Lebanon, and cry, And in Bashan give forth thy voice, And cry from Abarim, For destroyed have been all loving thee.

²¹Hovorieval som ti v tvojom blahu a v pokoji; zavše si riekla: Nebudem poslúchať! To bola tvoja cesta od tvojej mladosti, lebo si nepočúvala na môj hlas.

²¹I have spoken unto thee in thine ease, Thou hast said, `I do not hearken,` This [is] thy way from thy youth, For thou hast not hearkened to My voice.

²²Všetkých tvojich pastierov spasie vietor, a tvoji milenci pojdú do zajatia. Vtedy sa budeš istotne hanbiť a stydieť sa budeš pre všetku svoju nešľachetnosť.

²²All thy friends consume doth wind, And thy lovers into captivity do go, Surely then thou art ashamed, And hast blushed for all thy wickedness.

²³Oj, ty, ktorá sedíš na Libanone a hniezdiš na cedrách; aká len budeš milostná, keď ti prijdú kŕče, bolesť ako bolesť tej, ktorá ide porodiť!

²³O dweller in Lebanon, making a nest among cedars, How gracious hast thou been when pangs come to thee, Pain — as of a travailing woman.

²⁴Ako že ja žijem, hovorí Hospodin, že keby bol Koniáš, syn Jehojakíma, judského kráľa, pečatným prsteňom na mojej pravej ruke, aj odtiaľ ťa strhnem.

²⁴I live — an affirmation of Jehovah, Though Coniah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah Were a seal on My right hand, Surely thence I draw thee away,

²⁵A vydám ťa do ruky tých, ktorí hľadajú tvoju dušu, a do ruky tých, ktorých tvári sa ty bojíš, a do ruky Nabuchodonozora, babylonského kráľa, a do ruky Chaldejov.

²⁵And I have given thee into the hand of those seeking thy life, And into hands of which thou art afraid, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of the Chaldeans.

²⁶A šmarím teba i tvoju mater, ktorá ťa porodila, na inú zem, kde ste sa nenarodili, a tam zomriete.-

²⁶And I have cast thee, And thy mother who bore thee, unto another country, Where ye were not born, and there do ye die.

²⁷A do zeme, ku ktorej v túžbe budú pozdvihovať svoju dušu navrátiť sa ta, ta sa nenavrátia.

²⁷And to the land whither they are lifting up their soul to return, Thither they do not return.

²⁸Či opovrhnutou nádobou rozbitou je tento muž, Koniáš? Či je azda nástrojom, v ktorom niet záľuby? Prečo tedy majú byť zašmarení on i jeho semeno a vrhnutí na zem, ktorej neznajú?

²⁸A grief — a despised broken thing — is this man Coniah? A vessel in which there is no pleasure? Wherefore have they been cast up and down, He and his seed, Yea, they were cast on to a land that they knew not?

²⁹Ó, zem, zem, zem, čuj slovo Hospodinovo!

²⁹Earth, earth, earth, hear a word of Jehovah,

³⁰Takto hovorí Hospodin: Zapíšte tohoto muža za muža bez detí, za človeka, ktorému sa nebude dobre vodiť za jeho dní. Lebo nebude sa dobre vodiť nikomu z jeho semena, mužovi, ktorý by sedel na stolici Dávidovej a panoval ešte nad Júdom.

³⁰Thus said Jehovah: Write ye this man childless, A man — he doth not prosper in his days, For none of his seed doth prosper, Sitting on the throne of David, And ruling again in Judah!
