¹In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim was his servant three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.

²Ale Hospodin poslal na neho lúpežné čaty Chaldejov a čaty Sýrov a čaty Moábov a čaty synov Ammonových a poslal ich na Júdu, aby ho hubili podľa slova Hospodinovho, ktoré hovoril skrze svojich služobníkov prorokov.

²And Jehovah sent against him the bands of the Chaldeans, and the bands of the Syrians, and the bands of the Moabites, and the bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke through his servants the prophets.

³Verily, at the commandment of Jehovah it came to pass against Judah, that they should be removed out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done;

⁴i pre nevinnú krv, ktorú vylial, a naplnil Jeruzalem nevinnou krvou a Hospodin už nechcel odpustiť.

⁴and also [because of] the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah would not pardon.

⁵And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

⁶A tak ľahol Jehojakim a ležal so svojimi otcami, a kraľoval Jehojachin, jeho syn, miesto neho.

⁶And Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

⁷A egyptský kráľ už viacej nevyšiel zo svojej zeme, lebo babylonský kráľ pobral všetko, hen od Egyptského potoka až po rieku Eufrates, všetko, čo mal egyptský kráľ.

⁷And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt, from the torrent of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

⁸Jehojachin mal osemnásť rokov, keď začal kraľovať, a kraľoval tri mesiace v Jeruzaleme. A meno jeho matky bolo Nechušta, dcéra Elnatánová, z Jeruzalema.

⁸Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

⁹A robil to, čo je zlé v očiach Hospodinových, všetko tak, ako robil jeho otec.

⁹And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father had done.

¹⁰V tom čase prišli hore služobníci Nabuchodonozora, babylonského kráľa, do Jeruzalema, a mesto bolo obľahnuté.

¹⁰At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

¹¹A prišiel aj Nabuchodonozor, babylonský kráľ, proti mestu, kým ho obliehali jeho služobníci.

¹¹And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, while his servants were besieging it.

¹²Vtedy vyšiel Jehojachin, judský kráľ, k babylonskému kráľovi, on i jeho matka i jeho služobníci i jeho kniežatá i jeho komorníci, a babylonský kráľ ho vzal v ôsmom roku svojho kraľovania.

¹²And Jehoiachin king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his chamberlains; and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

¹³A vyniesol odtiaľ všetky poklady domu Hospodinovho a poklady domu kráľovho a otĺkol všetko náradie zo zlata, ktorého bol narobil Šalamún, izraelský kráľ, v chráme Hospodinovom, tak ako hovoril Hospodin.

¹³And he brought out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had said.

¹⁴A prestehoval celý Jeruzalem i všetky kniežatá i všetkých udatných mužov, desať tisíc zajatých, i všetkých tesárov a zámočníkov; nezostalo nič krome chudobného ľudu zeme.

¹⁴And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained but the poorest sort of the people of the land.

¹⁵A odviedol Jehojachina do Babylona i matku kráľovu i ženy kráľove i jeho komorníkov, i veľmožov zeme, tých všetkých odviedol do zajatia z Jeruzalema do Babylona

¹⁵And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his chamberlains, and the mighty of the land, he led into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon;

¹⁶i všetkých udatných mužov, sedem tisíc, i tesárov a zámočníkov tisíc. to všetko boli udatní bojovníci, a babylonský kráľ ich doviedol v zajatie do Babylona.

¹⁶and all the men of valour, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all strong men apt for war, and the king of Babylon brought them captive to Babylon.

¹⁷A babylonský kráľ urobil kráľom Mattaniáša, jeho strýca, miesto neho a premenil jeho meno na Cedekiáša.

¹⁷And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his uncle king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

¹⁸Cedekiáš mal dvadsaťjeden rokov, keď začal kraľovať, a kraľoval jedenásť rokov v Jeruzaleme. A meno jeho matky bolo Chamutaľ, dcéra Jeremiášova, z Libny.

¹⁸Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹⁹A robil to, čo je zlé v očiach Hospodinových, všetko tak, ako robil Jehojakim,

¹⁹And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

²⁰lebo pre hnev Hospodinov sa to dialo proti Jeruzalemu a proti Júdovi, dokiaľ ich len neodvrhol zpred svojej tvári. A Cedekiáš sa sprotivil babylonskému kráľovi.

²⁰For, because the anger of Jehovah was against Jerusalem and against Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
