¹Preto budeš milovať Hospodina, svojho Boha, a budeš ostríhať jeho nariadenie a jeho ustanovenia, jeho súdy a jeho prikázania po všetky dni.

¹Thou shalt love then Jehovah thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments continually.

²A budete znať dnes - lebo veď nehovorím s vašimi synmi, ktorí nepoznali a ktorí nevideli - výchovnú kázeň Hospodina, svojho Boha, jeho veľkosť, jeho silnú ruku a jeho vystreté rameno,

²And know ye this day ...; for [I speak] not with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God, his greatness, his powerful hand, and his stretched-out arm,

³jeho znamenia a jeho skutky, ktoré činil prostred Egypta faraonovi, egyptskému kráľovi, a celej jeho zemi,

³and his signs and his acts which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;

⁴i to, čo učinil egyptskému vojsku, jeho koňom a jeho vozom, ako ich zalial vodami Rudého mora, keď sa hnali za vami, a Hospodin ich zahubil, a je tak až do dnešného dňa;

⁴and what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and unto their chariots, over which he made the water of the Red sea flow as they pursued after you, and Jehovah destroyed them unto this day;

⁵a budete znať i to, čo vám činil na púšti, dokiaľ ste neprišli na toto miesto,

⁵-- and what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came to this place;

⁶a čo učinil Dátanovi a Abirámovi, synom Eliába, syna Rúbenovho, jako otvorila zem jeho ústa a pohltila ich aj ich čeľade aj ich stány i so všetkými živými bytosťami, ktoré išly s nimi, vprostred celého Izraela,

⁶and what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, -- how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, with their households, and their tents, and all the living substance that belonged to them, in the midst of all Israel.

⁷Lebo vaše vlastné oči to boly, ktoré to videly všetky tie veľké skutky Hospodinove, ktoré činil.

⁷For your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovah which he hath done.

⁸A tedy budete ostríhať každé prikázanie, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, aby ste boli silní a aby ste vošli a zaujali do dedičstva zem, do ktorej idete, aby ste ju zaujali do dedičstva,

⁸Keep then all the commandment which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and enter in and possess the land, whither ye pass over to possess it;

⁹a aby ste dlho žili na zemi, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom, že im ju dá aj ich semenu, zem, ktorá tečie mliekom a medom.

⁹and that ye may prolong your days in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give unto them and unto their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

¹⁰Lebo zem, do ktorej ty ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva, nie je ako Egyptská zem, z ktorej ste vyšli, kde si sial svoje semeno a polieval si svojou nohou jako zeleninovú zahradu.

¹⁰For the land, whither thou enterest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs;

¹¹Ale zem, do ktorej idete, aby ste ju zaujali do dedičstva, je zem, v ktorej sú vrchy a doliny, ktorá pije vodu, keď prší dážď z neba,

¹¹but the land, whereunto ye are passing over to possess it, is a land of mountains and valleys, which drinketh water of the rain of heaven,

¹²je to zem, o ktorú sa stará Hospodin, tvoj Bôh; oči Hospodina, tvojho Boha, sú ustavične obrátené na ňu od začiatku roka až do konca roka.

¹²a land which Jehovah thy God careth for; the eyes of Jehovah thy God are constantly upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

¹³A stane sa, ak budete naozaj poslúchať moje prikázania, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, milujúc Hospodina, svojho Boha, a slúžiac mu celým svojím srdcom a celou svojou dušou,

¹³And it shall come to pass, if ye hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹⁴že dám vašej zemi dážď na jeho čas, ranný i pozdný, a budeš spratávať svoje obilie i svoju vínnu šťavu i svoj olej.

¹⁴that I will give rain to your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain; and thou shalt gather in thy corn, and thy new wine, and thine oil;

¹⁵A dám bylinu na tvojom poli pre tvoje hovädá, a budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa.

¹⁵and I will give grass in thy field for thy cattle; and thou shalt eat and be full.

¹⁶Vystríhajte sa, aby sa nedalo zviesť vaše srdce, a odchýlili by ste sa odo mňa a slúžili by ste iným bohom a klaňali by ste sa im!

¹⁶Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside and serve other gods, and bow down to them,

¹⁷Lebo by sa zapálil na vás hnev Hospodinov, a zavrel by nebesia, a nebolo by dažďa, a zem by nevydala svojej úrody, a zahynuli by ste rýchle s povrchu tej krásnej zeme dobrej, ktorú vám dáva Hospodin.

¹⁷and Jehovah's wrath kindle against you, and he shut up the heavens, that there be no rain, and that the ground yield not its produce, and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah is giving you.

¹⁸Ale si položíte tieto moje slová na svoje srdce, a na svoju dušu a priviažete si ich na znamenie na svoju ruku, a budú uzlíkom na upomienku medzi vašimi očami.

¹⁸And ye shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

¹⁹A budete im vyučovať svojich synov hovoriac o nich, keď budeš sedieť vo svojom dome, i keď pojdeš cestou i keď budeš líhať i keď budeš vstávať;

¹⁹And ye shall teach them unto your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up;

²⁰a napíšeš ich na podvoje svojho domu i na svoje brány,

²⁰and write them upon the posts of thy house, and upon thy gates;

²¹aby bolo mnoho vašich dní i dní vašich synov na zemi, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom, že im ju dá, jako dni nebies nad zemou.

²¹that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens [which are] above the earth.

²²Lebo ak budete naozaj ostríhať každé toto prikázanie, ktoré vám ja prikazujem, aby ste ho činili milujúc Hospodina, svojho Boha, chodiac po všetkých jeho cestách a láskou sa ho pridŕžajúc,

²²For if ye diligently keep all this commandment which I command you [this day] to do it, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him,

²³vtedy vyženie Hospodin všetky tie národy zpred vašej tvári, a zaujmete do dedičstva národy, ktoré sú väčšie a mocnejšie ako vy.

²³then will Jehovah dispossess all these nations from before you, and ye shall take possession of nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

²⁴Každé miesto, na ktoré šľapí vaša noha, bude vaše, hen od púšte a od Libanona, od rieky, rieky Eufrates, až po zadné more bude vaše územie.

²⁴Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall your border be.

²⁵Nikto neobstojí pred vami; váš strach a vašu bázeň dá Hospodin, váš Bôh, na tvár celej zeme, po ktorej budete šliapať, tak ako vám hovoril.

²⁵No man shall be able to stand before you: the fear of you and the dread of you will Jehovah your God lay upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

²⁶Vidzže, ja vám dnes predkladám požehnanie a zlorečenie,

²⁶See, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

²⁷požehnanie, keď budete počúvať na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes,

²⁷a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you this day;

²⁸a zlorečenie, keby ste nepočúvali na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, a keby ste vybočili z cesty, ktorú vám ja prikazujem dnes, idúc za inými bohy, ktorých neznáte.

²⁸and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods which ye have not known.

²⁹A stane sa, keď ťa vovedie Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, do zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva, že dáš požehnanie na vrchu Gerizím a zlorečenie na vrchu Ébal.

²⁹And it shall come to pass, when Jehovah thy God hath brought thee into the land whither thou enterest in to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

³⁰Hľa, či nie sú oba vrchy za Jordánom, za cestou na západe slnka, v zemi Kananeja, ktorý býva na rovine naproti Gilgalu, pri dúbrave Móre?

³⁰Are they not on the other side of the Jordan, beyond the way toward the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites that dwell on the plain opposite to Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?

³¹Lebo vy prejdete cez Jordán, aby ste vošli zaujať do dedičstva zem, ktorú vám dá Hospodin, váš Bôh, a zaujmete ju do dedičstva a budete bývať v nej.

³¹For ye pass over the Jordan to enter in to possess the land which Jehovah your God giveth you, and ye shall take possession of it, and dwell therein.

³²A tedy budete hľadieť, aby ste činili všetky ustanovenia a súdy, ktoré vám ja predkladám dnes.

³²And ye shall take heed to do all the statutes and ordinances which I set before you this day.
