¹A Hospodin hovoril Mojžišovi a riekol:

¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²Pomsti synov Izraelových na Madianoch. Potom budeš pripojený k svojmu ľudu.

²Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.

³Vtedy hovoril Mojžiš ľudu a riekol: Vyzbrojte si zpomedzi seba mužov do vojny, a pojdú na Madiana dať na neho pomstu Hospodinovu.

³And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.

⁴Po tisíci mužov z pokolenia, zo všetkých pokolení Izraelových, vyšlete do vojny.

⁴Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

⁵A tak boli vydaní z tisícov Izraela po tisíci z každého pokolenia, spolu dvanásť tisíc vyzbrojených do vojny.

⁵And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

⁶A tedy ich vyslal Mojžiš, tisíc mužov na jedno pokolenie, do vojny, ich a Pinchasa, syna Eleazára, kňaza, do vojny, a sväté nádoby i trúby na trúbenie v jeho ruke.

⁶And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.

⁷A viedli vojnu proti Madianovi, tak ako prikázal Hospodin Mojžišovi, a pobili všetkých mužského pohlavia.

⁷And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.

⁸Pobili aj madianských kráľov medzi inými ich pobitými, Eviho, Rekema, Cúra, Chúra a Rebu, piatich madianských kráľov, aj Baláma, syna Beorovho, zabili mečom.

⁸And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

⁹A synovia Izraelovi zajali ženy Madianov aj ich drobné deti a všetky ich hovädá aj všetok ich dobytok aj všetok ich majetok ulúpili.

⁹And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;

¹⁰A všetky ich mestá, v ktorých bývali, i všetky ich hrady popálili ohňom.

¹⁰and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.

¹¹A pobrali všetku korisť i všetko, čo sa dalo vziať na ľuďoch i na hovädách.

¹¹And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;

¹²A doviedli zajatých k Mojžišovi a Eleazárovi, kňazovi, a k obci synov Izraelových dopraviac i pobrané i korisť do tábora, do Arbót-moába, ktoré je pri Jordáne, naproti Jerichu.

¹²and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.

¹³A vyšli, Mojžiš a Eleazár, kňaz, i všetky kniežatá obce oproti nim von za tábor.

¹³And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.

¹⁴Ale Mojžiš sa rozhneval na vodcov vojska, na tisícnikov a stotníkov, ktorí prichádzali z borby toho boja.

¹⁴And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;

¹⁵A Mojžiš im povedal: Či ste zachovali všetky ženy živé?

¹⁵and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

¹⁶Hľa, veď ony boly synom Izraelovým na radu Balámovu pokušením, aby ich zviedly do hriechu proti Hospodinovi, pre vec modly Peora, pre ktorú príčinu potom prišla tá porážka na obec Hospodinovu!

¹⁶Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.

¹⁷Preto teraz pobite všetko mužského pohlavia medzi deťmi a zabite aj každú ženu, ktorá poznala muža čo do súlože s mužským pohlavím.

¹⁷And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,

¹⁸A všetky deti medzi ženami, ktoré nepoznaly súlože mužského pohlavia, zachovajte si živé.

¹⁸but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.

¹⁹A vy táborte vonku za táborom sedem dní. Každý, ktorý ste niekoho zabili, jako i každý, ktorý ste sa dotkli zabitého, očistovať sa budete od hriechu tretieho dňa i siedmeho dňa, vy i vaše zajaté.

¹⁹And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.

²⁰Taktiež očistíte od hriechu i každé rúcho i každú vec z kože i všetko, čo je spravené z kozej srsti, jako i každú vec z dreva.

²⁰And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.

²¹A Eleazár, kňaz, povedal vojakom, ktorí boli išli do boja: Toto je ustanovenie zákona, ktoré prikázal Hospodin Mojžišovi:

²¹And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

²²Avšak zlato, striebro, meď, železo, cín a olovo,

²²Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

²³každú vec, ktorá vojde bez škody do ohňa, prepustíte cez oheň, a bude čistá, len že vodou oddelenia na očisťovanie očistí sa od hriechu; a všetko, čo neznesie ohňa, prepustíte cez vodu.

²³everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.

²⁴A siedmeho dňa operiete svoje rúcha a budete čistí, a potom vojdete do tábora.

²⁴And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.

²⁵A Hospodin riekol Mojžišovi:

²⁵And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁶Spočítaj sumu vzatého do zajatia z ľudí aj z hoviad, ty a Eleazár, kňaz, i hlavy otcov, obce.

²⁶Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;

²⁷A rozdelíš korisť na poly medzi tých, ktorí sa boli chopili boja, ktorí boli vyšli do vojny, a medzi celú ostatnú obec.

²⁷and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.

²⁸Potom vyzdvihneš dávku pre Hospodina od bojovníkov, ktorí boli vyšli do vojny: jednu dušu z päťsto, z ľudí, z rožného statku, z oslov i z drobného dobytka.

²⁸And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.

²⁹Z ich polovice to vezmete, a dáš to Eleazárovi, kňazovi, obeť pozdvihnutia Hospodinovu.

²⁹Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.

³⁰A z polovice koristi synov Izraelových vezmeš jedno zajaté z päťdesiatich, z ľudí, z rožného statku, z oslov a z drobného dobytka, zo všetkých hoviad, a dáš ich Levitom, ktorí strážia stráž príbytku Hospodinovho.

³⁰And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.

³¹A Mojžiš a Eleazár, kňaz, urobili tak, ako prikázal Hospodin Mojžišovi.

³¹And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

³²A bolo koristi, zvýšenej z lúpeže, ktorú ulúpil ľud čaty: drobného dobytka šesťsto sedemdesiatpäť tisíc,

³²And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,

³³rožného statku sedemdesiatdva tisíc,

³³and seventy-two thousand oxen,

³⁴oslov šesťdesiatjeden tisíc

³⁴and sixty-one thousand asses,

³⁵a ľudských duší, zo žien, ktoré nepoznaly súlože s mužským pohlavím, všetkých duší bolo tridsaťdva tisíc.

³⁵and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.

³⁶A polovice, podielu tých, ktorí boli vyšli do vojny, bolo, čo do počtu drobného dobytka, tristo tridsaťsedem tisíc päťsto.

³⁶And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,

³⁷A dávky pre Hospodina bolo z drobného dobytka šesťsto sedemdesiatpäť,

³⁷and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;

³⁸a rožného statku bolo tridsaťšesť tisíc a ich dávka pre Hospodina sedemdesiatdva kusov,

³⁸and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;

³⁹oslov tridsať tisíc päťsto a ich dávka pre Hospodina šesťdesiatjeden kusov.

³⁹and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;

⁴⁰Ľudských duší bolo šestnásť tisíc a ich dávka pre Hospodina tridsaťdva duší.

⁴⁰and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.

⁴¹A Mojžiš dal dávku, obeť to pozdvihnutia Hospodinovu, Eleazárovi, kňazovi, tak ako prikázal Hospodin Mojžišovi.

⁴¹And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

⁴²A z polovice synov Izraelových, ktorú vzal Mojžiš od mužov, ktorí bojovali.-

⁴²And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,

⁴³A polovice koristi obce bolo z drobného dobytka tristo tridsať sedem tisíc päťsto,

⁴³(now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,

⁴⁴rožného statku tridsaťšesť tisíc,

⁴⁴and thirty-six thousand oxen,

⁴⁵oslov tridsať tisíc päťsto

⁴⁵and thirty thousand five hundred asses,

⁴⁶a ľudských duší šestnásť tisíc -

⁴⁶and sixteen thousand human persons,)

⁴⁷a tedy Mojžiš vzal z polovice synov Izraelových jedno zajaté z päťdesiatich, z ľudí i z hoviad, a dal ich Levitom, ktorí strážili stráž príbytku Hospodinovho, tak ako prikázal Hospodin Mojžišovi.

⁴⁷... of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

⁴⁸Potom pristúpili k Mojžišovi vodcovia, ktorí boli ustanovení nad tisícami vojska, tisícnici a stotníci,

⁴⁸And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,

⁴⁹a riekli Mojžišovi: Tvoji služobníci spočítali sumu bojovníkov, ktorí boli v našej ruke, a nechýba z nás ani jeden.

⁴⁹and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.

⁵⁰Preto obetujeme obetný dar Hospodinovi, každý z toho, čo ktorý dostal, už či zlatú nádobu či záponu na nohu či náramok či prsteň či náušnice a či retiazku, pokryť hriech na našich dušiach pred Hospodinom.

⁵⁰So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.

⁵¹A Mojžiš a Eleazár, kňaz, vzali od nich zlato, všelijaké klenoty, umele vypracované.

⁵¹And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.

⁵²A bolo všetkého zlata tej obeti pozdvihnutia, ktorú obetovali Hospodinovi, šestnásť tisíc sedemsto päťdesiat šeklov, od tisícnikov a stotníkov.

⁵²And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.

⁵³Mužovia vojska totiž ulúpili každý sebe.

⁵³(The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.)

⁵⁴A tedy vzal Mojžiš a Eleazár, kňaz, zlato od tisícnikov a stotníkov a vniesli ho do stánu shromaždenia na pamiatku synom Izraelovým pred Hospodinom.

⁵⁴And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
