¹A kráľovná zo Šeby počula povesť o Šalamúnovi a prišla, aby zkúsila Šalamúna ťažkými otázkami v Jeruzaleme, a prišla s bohatstvom, veľmi velikým, a to s veľblúdmi, ktoré niesly voňavé veci a množstvo zlata i drahé kamene. A prijdúc k Šalamúnovi hovorila s ním o všetkom, čo mala vo svojom srdci.

¹When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bore spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.

²A Šalamún jej dal odpoveď na všetky jej slová, ani nebolo veci, ktorá by bola bývala skrytá pred Šalamúnom, na ktorú by jej nebol dal odpovedi.

²Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her.

³Vtedy, keď videla kráľovná zo Šeby múdrosť Šalamúnovu i dom, ktorý vystavil,

³When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

⁴a jedlá jeho stola a sediská jeho služobníkov a stanoviská jeho posluhovačov a ich rúcha a jeho pohárnikov a ich rúcha a jeho schodište, ktorým chodil hore do domu Hospodinovho, nebolo v nej viacej ducha od úžasu,

⁴and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, his cup bearers also, and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.

⁵a povedala kráľovi: Bola to pravda, čo som počula vo svojej zemi o tvojich veciach a o tvojej múdrosti,

⁵She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.

⁶a neverila som ich slovám, dokiaľ som neprišla, a dokiaľ nevidely moje oči, a hľa, nebola mi povedaná ani polovica veľkosti tvojej múdrosti; prevýšil si povesť, ktorú som počula.

⁶However I didn’t believe their words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me: you exceed the fame that I heard.

⁷Blahoslavení sú tvoji mužovia a blahoslavení títo tvoji sluhovia, ktorí stoja pred tebou ustavične a počúvajú tvoju múdrosť.

⁷Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and hear your wisdom.

⁸Nech je požehnaný Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, ktorý si ťa obľúbil, aby ťa dal na svoj trón za kráľa, Hospodinovi, tvojmu Bohu; pretože tvoj Bôh miluje Izraela postaviac ho tak, aby stál na veky, dal ťa nad nimi za kráľa, aby si činil súd a spravedlivosť.-

⁸Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne, to be king for Yahweh your God: because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore made he you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”

⁹A dala kráľovi sto dvadsať hrivien zlata a voňavých vecí veliké množstvo i drahých kameňov. Ani nebolo nikdy viacej dovezené toľko a takých voňavých vecí jako to, čo dala kráľovná zo Šeby kráľovi Šalamúnovi.

⁹She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

¹⁰Ale aj služobníci Chíramovi a služobníci Šalamúnovi, ktorí doviezli zlato z Ofíra, doviezli algummového dreva i drahých kameňov.

¹⁰The servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

¹¹A kráľ narobil z toho algummového dreva chodieb do domu Hospodinovho a do domu kráľovho a citár a hárf pre spevákov, a nebolo nikdy predtým vidieť takých vecí v zemi Júdovej.

¹¹The king made of the algum trees terraces for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers: and there were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.

¹²A kráľ Šalamún dal kráľovnej zo Šeby všetko, čo len chcela, čo si žiadala, krome toho, čo bola doniesla ku kráľovi. Potom sa obrátila a odišla do svojej zeme, ona i jej služobníci.-

¹²King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which she had brought to the king. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

¹³A váhy zlata, ktoré prišlo Šalamúnovi za jeden rok, bolo šesťsto šesťdesiat šesť hrivien zlata,

¹³Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

¹⁴krome toho, čo prišlo od kupcov a čo donášali obchodníci, ale i všetci kráľovia Arábie i správcovia zeme donášali Šalamúnovi zlato a striebro.

¹⁴besides that which the traders and merchants brought: and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

¹⁵A kráľ Šalamún spravil dvesto veľkých štítov z kovaného zlata; šesťsto šeklov kovaného zlata dal na jedenkaždý štít.

¹⁵King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one buckler.

¹⁶Spravil aj tristo malých štítov z kovaného zlata; tristo šeklov zlata dal na jeden taký štít. A kráľ ich složil v dome lesa Libanona.

¹⁶He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

¹⁷A kráľ spravil veliký trón zo slonovej kosti a pokryl ho čistým zlatom.

¹⁷Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

¹⁸Trón mal šesť stupňov i podnož zo zlata, ktoré boly prichytené k trónu, a operadlá boly z jednej i z druhej strany nad sediskom, a dvaja ľvi stáli vedľa operadiel.

¹⁸And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.

¹⁹A dvanásť ľvov tam stálo na šiestich stupňoch z jednej i z druhej strany. Nebolo nič také učinené pre niktoré kráľovstvo.

¹⁹Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.

²⁰A všetky nádoby kráľa Šalamúna, z ktorých sa pilo, boly zo zlata, a všetky nádoby domu lesa Libanona boly z rýdzeho zlata. Nebolo ničoho zo striebra, lebo striebro nebolo vo dňoch Šalamúnových považované za nič;

²⁰All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

²¹pretože kráľove lode chodily do Taršíša so služobníkmi Chíramovými; raz za tri roky prichádzaly taršíšske lode, ktoré dovážaly zlato a striebro, slonovu kosť a opice a pávy.

²¹For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

²²A kráľ Šalamún bol väčší od všetkých kráľov zeme čo do bohatstva a múdrosti.

²²So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

²³Preto všetci kráľovia zeme hľadali vidieť tvár Šalamúnovu, aby počuli jeho múdrosť, ktorú dal Bôh do jeho srdca.

²³All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

²⁴A tí všetci donášali každý svoj dar, strieborné nádoby a zlaté nádoby a rúcha, zbraň a voňavé veci, kone a mulice, čo na ktorý rok prišlo.-

²⁴They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

²⁵Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁶Panoval nad všetkými kráľmi od rieky až po zem Filištínov a až po hranicu Egypta.

²⁶He ruled over all the kings from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

²⁷A kráľ nahromadil striebra v Jeruzaleme jako kamenia a cedrového dreva nahromadil ako sykomôr, planých fíkov, ktorých je na rovine množstvo.

²⁷The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁸A kone dovádzali Šalamúnovi z Egypta i zo všetkých zemí.

²⁸They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

²⁹A ostatné deje Šalamúnove, prvé i posledné, či nie sú napísané v dejinách proroka Nátana a v proroctve Achiáša Šilonského a vo videniach vidiaceho Iddu o Jeroboámovi, synovi Nebátovom?

²⁹Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

³⁰A Šalamún kraľoval v Jeruzaleme nad celým Izraelom štyridsať rokov.

³⁰Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

³¹A tak ľahol Šalamún a ležal so svojimi otcami, a pochovali ho v meste Dávida, jeho otca. A kraľoval Rechabeám, jeho syn, miesto neho.

³¹Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
