¹A prorok Elizeus zavolal jedného zo synov prorokov a riekol mu: Prepáš svoje bedrá, vezmi túto nádobku oleja do svojej ruky a idi do Rámot-gileáda.

¹Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

²A keď ta prijdeš, obzri sa tam po Jehu-vovi, synovi Jozafata, syna Nimšiho. A keď prijdeš k nemu, urobíš to, aby vstal spomedzi svojich bratov, a zavedieš ho do najodľahlejšej izby.

²When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.

³Potom vezmeš nádobku s olejom a vyleješ na jeho hlavu a povieš: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Pomazal som ťa za kráľa nad Izraelom! A hneď otvoríš dvere a utečieš a nebudeš čakať.

³Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

⁴Tak odišiel mládenec, služobník prorokov, do Rámot-gileáda.

⁴So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.

⁵A keď prišiel, hľa, sedeli tam velitelia vojska. A riekol: Veliteľu, mám ti niečo povedať. A Jehu povedal: Komu zo všetkých nás? A odpovedal: Tebe, veliteľu.

⁵When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

⁶Vtedy vstal a vošiel do domu. A vylial olej na jeho hlavu a riekol mu: Takto hovorí Hospodin, Bôh Izraelov: Pomazal som ťa za kráľa nad ľudom Hospodinovým, nad Izraelom.

⁶He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

⁷A zbiješ dom Achaba, svojho pána, a tak pomstím krv svojich služobníkov prorokov i krv všetkých služobníkov Hospodinových na ruke Jezábelinej.

⁷You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

⁸A zahynie celý dom Achabov, a vytnem Achabovi močiaceho na stenu, zavretého i opusteného, v Izraelovi.

⁸For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

⁹A dám, aby bol dom Achabov ako dom Jeroboáma, syna Nebátovho, a jako dom Bášu, syna Achiášovho.

⁹I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

¹⁰A Jezábeľ budú žrať psi na podiele Jizreela, a nebude toho, kto by pochoval. A otvoriac dvere utiekol.

¹⁰The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.

¹¹Keď potom vyšiel Jehu k služobníkom svojho pána, vraveli mu: Či je pokoj? Prečo prišiel k tebe ten blázon? A povedal im: Vy znáte človeka i jeho reč.

¹¹Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”

¹²Ale oni povedali: To je klam. Nože nám povedz! A riekol: Tak a tak mi povedal a riekol: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Pomazal som ťa za kráľa nad Izraelom.

¹²They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

¹³Vtedy vzali rýchle každý svoje rúcho a prestreli pod neho na vrch, na holé schodov a zatrúbiac na trúbu povedali: Jehu kraľuje!

¹³Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

¹⁴A tak sa sprisahal Jehu, syn Jozafata, syna Nimšiho, proti Jorámovi, vtedy, keď strážil Jorám v Rámot-gileáda spolu so všetkým Izraelom pred Hazaelom, sýrskym kráľom.

¹⁴So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

¹⁵Ale kráľ Jorám sa bol navrátil, aby sa hojil v Jizreele zo svojich rán, ktoré mu zadali Sýrovia, keď bojoval s Hazaelom, sýrskym kráľom. A Jehu povedal: Ak je vaša vôľa, nech nevyjde nikto z mesta, kto by utiekol, aby to išiel oznámiť v Jizreele.

¹⁵but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”

¹⁶Potom vysadol Jehu na voz a išiel do Jizreela, lebo tam ležal Jorám. A Achaziáš, judský kráľ, bol prišiel dolu navštíviť Joráma.

¹⁶So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

¹⁷A pozorujúci strážca stál na veži v Jizreele. A keď uvidel zástup Jehu-vov, keď prichádzal, povedal: Vidím nejaký zástup. A Jorám riekol: Vezmi jazdca a pošli im oproti, aby sa opýtal, či je pokoj?

¹⁷Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

¹⁸A tedy odišiel jazdec na koni oproti nemu a povedal: Takto hovorí kráľ: Či znamená váš príchod pokoj? A Jehu odpovedal: Čo tebe do pokoja? Obráť sa a poď za mnou. A pozorujúci strážca oznámil a riekol: Posol prišiel až k nim, ale sa nevracia.

¹⁸So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

¹⁹Vtedy poslal druhého jazdca na koni, ktorý keď prišiel k nim, povedal: Takto hovorí kráľ: Či pokoj? Ale Jehu zase odpovedal: Čo tebe do pokoja? Obráť sa a poď za mnou.

¹⁹Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”

²⁰A pozorujúci strážca oznámil a riekol: Prišiel až k nim, ale sa nevracia. Ale pohon je ako pohon Jehu-va, syna Nimšiho, lebo šialene ženie.

²⁰The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”

²¹Vtedy riekol Jorám: Zapriahni! A zapriahol do voza. A tak vyšiel Jorám, izraelský kráľ, aj Achaziáš, judský kráľ, každý na svojom voze, a vyjdúc vústrety Jehu-vovi stretli sa s ním na podiele Nábota Jizreelského.

²¹Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

²²A stalo sa, keď uvidel Jorám Jehu-va, že povedal: Či pokoj, Jehu? A on odpovedal: Čo jaký pokoj, dokiaľ sa páchajú smilstvá Jezábeli, tvojej matere a jej čarodejstvá tak mnohé?

²²It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

²³Vtedy obrátil Jorám svoje ruky, dal sa na útek a riekol Achaziášovi: Zrada, Achaziášu!

²³Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”

²⁴Ale Jehu pochytiac lučište ranil Joráma medzi jeho ramenami, tak že strela prenikla jeho srdce, a sklesol dohromady na svojom voze.

²⁴Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

²⁵Potom riekol Jehu Bidekárovi, svojmu vojvodcovi: Vezmi, hoď ho na podiel poľa Nábota Jizreelského. Lebo rozpamätaj sa, jako sme kedysi, ja a ty, jazdili spolu po páre za Achabom, jeho otcom, že Hospodin vyniesol proti nemu toto bremä.

²⁵Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:

²⁶Je isté, že som videl krv Nábotovu i krv jeho synov včera, hovorí Hospodin; a tak ti zaplatím na tomto podiele, hovorí Hospodin. Preto teraz vezmi, hoď ho na podiel poľa, podľa slova Hospodinovho.

²⁶‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”

²⁷A keď to videl Achaziáš, judský kráľ, utekal cestou zahradného domu. Ale Jehu ho prenasledoval a povedal: Aj toho, zabite ho! A tak ho ranil na voze na svahu vrchu Gúra, ktorý je pri Jibleáme. A utiekol do Megidda a zomrel tam.

²⁷But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.

²⁸A jeho služobníci ho zaviezli do Jeruzalema a pochovali ho v jeho hrobe s jeho otcami v meste Dávidovom.

²⁸His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.

²⁹A v jedenástom roku Joráma, syna Achabovho, začal kraľovať Achaziáš nad Júdom.

²⁹In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

³⁰Potom prišiel Jehu do Jizreela. A keď počula o tom Jezábeľ, nalíčila svoje oči líčidlom a ozdobila svoju hlavu a vyzerala oblokom.

³⁰When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.

³¹A keď vošiel Jehu do brány, riekla: Či je pokoj, Zimri, vrahu svojho pána?

³¹As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

³²A on pozdvihnúc svoju tvár k obloku povedal: Kto je so mnou, kto? A vyzerali na neho dvaja či traja komorníci.

³²He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

³³A riekol: Shoďte ju! A shodili ju, a niečo z jej krvi strieklo na stenu i na kone. A zašliapal ju.

³³He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.

³⁴Keď potom vošiel a najedol sa a napil, povedal: Nože pozrite, kde je tá zlorečená, a pochovajte ju, lebo je dcéra kráľova.

³⁴When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”

³⁵A tak odišli, aby ju pochovali, ale nenašli z nej iba lebku, nohy a päste rúk.

³⁵They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

³⁶A keď sa navrátili a oznámili mu to, povedal: Je to slovo Hospodinovo, ktoré hovoril skrze svojho služobníka Eliáša Tišbänského povediac: Na podiele Jizreela budú žrať psi telo Jezábelino.

³⁶Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

³⁷A bude vraj mŕtve telo Jezábelino jako hnoj na tvári poľa na podiele Jizreela, takže nepovedia: Toto je Jezábeľ.

³⁷and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
