¹A Peter a Ján išli spolu hore do chrámu na modlitebnú hodinu, deviatu.

¹Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour 3:00 PM .

²A práve niesli nejakého muža, ktorý bol chromý od života svojej matky, a ktorého skladávali každý deň ku dveriam chrámu, zvaným Krásnym, aby si pýtal almužnu od tých, ktorí vchádzali do chrámu.

²A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.

³Tedy ten, keď videl Petra a Jána, že majú vojsť do chrámu, prosil, žeby mu dali almužnu.

³Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.

⁴A Peter uprel na neho zrak i s Jánom a povedal: Pozri na nás!

⁴Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”

⁵A on hľadel pozorne na nich očakávajúc, že dostane niečo od nich.

⁵He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.

⁶Ale Peter povedal: Striebra a zlata nemám, ale čo mám, to ti dám; v mene Ježiša Krista, toho Nazarejského, vstaň a choď!

⁶But Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

⁷A chytil ho za pravú ruku a pozdvihnul ho. A naskutku mu spevnely nohy a členky,

⁷He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.

⁸a vyskočiac stal si a chodil a vošiel s nimi do chrámu chodiac a poskakujúc a chváliac Boha.

⁸Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.

⁹A videl ho všetok ľud chodiť a chváliť Boha.

⁹All the people saw him walking and praising God.

¹⁰A poznali ho dobre, že to bol on, ktorý to prosieval o almužnu a sedával pri Krásnej bráne chrámovej, a naplnení boli zdesením a úžasom nad tým, čo sa mu to stalo.

¹⁰They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

¹¹A keď sa uzdravený, ten predtým chromý, držal Petra a Jána, sbehol sa k nim všetok ľud do dvorany, zvanej Šalamúnovej, celí predesení.

¹²A keď to videl Peter, odpovedal ľudu: Mužovia Izraeliti, čo sa tomu divíte? Alebo na nás prečo tak hľadíte, jako čo by sme to vlastnou mocou alebo zbožnosťou boli robili, aby chodil?

¹⁶A na viere jeho mena tohoto, ktorého vidíte a znáte, utúžilo jeho meno, a viera, daná skrze neho, dala mu toto úplné zdravie pred všetkými vami.

¹⁶By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁷A teraz, bratia, viem, že ste to urobili v nevedomosti jako aj vaše kniežatá,

¹⁹A tak čiňte pokánie a obráťte sa aby sa vystrely vaše hriechy, aby prišly časy občerstvenia od tvári Pánovej,

²⁰a aby poslal predurčeného vám Krista Ježiša,

²¹ktorého však musí prijať nebo až do časov napravenia všetkého, o čom hovoril Bôh skrze ústa všetkých svojich svätých prorokov od veku.

²²Lebo Mojžiš povedal otcom: Proroka vám vzbudí Pán, váš Bôh, z vašich bratov, ako mňa, toho budete počúvať vo všetkom, čokoľvek vám bude hovoriť,

²²For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.

²³a bude, že každá duša, ktorá by nepočúvala toho proroka, bude vyplienená z ľudu,

²³It will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ Deuteronomy 18:15,18-19

²⁴a tak aj všetci proroci od Samuela a rad-radom, ktoríkoľvek hovorili, aj predzvestovali tieto dni.

²⁴Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.

²⁵Vy ste synovia prorokov a smluvy, ktorú uzavrel Bôh s vašimi otcami povediac Abrahámovi: A v tvojom semene budú požehnané všetky čeľade zeme.

²⁶A keď vzbudil Bôh svojho Služobníka Ježiša, najprv ho poslal vám, aby vám dobrorečil, keď sa jeden každý odvrátite od svojich zlých skutkov.

²⁶God, having raised up his servant, Jesus, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness.”
