¹Jotam je bil petindvajset let star, ko je zakraljeval, in vladal je šestnajst let v Jeruzalemu; in materi njegovi je bilo ime Jerusa, hči Zadokova.

¹A son of twenty and five years [is] Jotham in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jerushah daughter of Zadok.

²In delal je, kar je bilo prav v očeh GOSPODOVIH, po vsem, kar je bil delal Uzija, oče njegov, samo da ni šel v tempelj GOSPODOV. A ljudstvo je še ravnalo popačeno.

²And he doth that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Uzziah his father did; only, he hath not come in unto the temple of Jehovah; and again are the people doing corruptly.

³On je sezidal gorenja vrata pri hiši GOSPODOVI, tudi na zidu Ofelovem je zidal veliko.

³He hath built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah, and in the wall of Ophel he hath built abundantly;

⁴Dalje je sezidal mesta na Judovem gorovju, in v gozdih je zgradil gradove in stolpe.

⁴and cities he hath built in the hill-country of Judah, and in the forests he hath built palaces and towers.

⁵Bojeval se je tudi s kraljem sinov Amonovih in ga je premagal. In sinovi Amonovi so mu tisto leto dali sto talentov srebra in deset tisoč mer pšenice in deset tisoč ječmena. Toliko so mu dali sinovi Amonovi v drugem in v tretjem letu.

⁵And he hath fought with the king of the sons of Ammon, and prevaileth over them, and the sons of Ammon give to him in that year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat, and of barley ten thousand; this have the sons of Ammon returned to him both in the second year, and in the third.

⁶Tako je postal Jotam mogočen, ker je uravnal poti svoji pred GOSPODOM, svojim Bogom.

⁶And Jotham doth strengthen himself, for he hath prepared his ways before Jehovah his God.

⁸A son of twenty and five years was he in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;
