¹Drzne li se kdo izmed vas, ko ima tožbo zoper drugega, pravdati se pred nepravičnimi in ne pred svetimi?

¹Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

²Ali pa ne veste, da bodo sveti sodili svet? In če bo po vas sojen svet, kaj ste nevredni, da sodite najmanjše stvari?

²Don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

³Ne veste, da bomo angele sodili? kaj še stvari, ki se tičejo tega življenja!

³Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

⁴Kadar imate torej sodbe, ki se tičejo tega življenja, ali postavljate za sodnike tiste, ki niso nič cenjeni v cerkvi?

⁴If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?

⁵Na sramoto vam govorim. Tako torej ni modrega med vami ne enega, ki bi mogel razsoditi med brati svojimi?

⁵I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?

⁶Ampak brat se z bratom pravda in to pred neverniki!

⁶But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!

⁷Že to je res celo slabo pri vas, da imate sodbe med seboj. Zakaj si ne daste rajši krivice delati? zakaj se rajši ne daste oškodovati?

⁷Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you, that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?

⁸Temuč vi delate krivico in napravljate škodo, in to bratom.

⁸No, but you yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that against your brothers.

⁹Ali pa ne veste, da krivičniki ne podedujejo kraljestva Božjega? Ne motite se: ne nečistniki, ne malikovalci, ne prešeštniki, ne mehkuži, ne moželežniki,

⁹Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

¹⁰ne tatje, ne lakomniki, ne pijanci, ne obrekovalci, ne roparji ne podedujejo kraljestva Božjega.

¹⁰nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

¹¹In taki ste bili nekateri; ali umili ste se, ali posvečeni ste bili, ali opravičeni ste bili v imenu Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa in v Duhu Boga našega.

¹¹Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹²Vse mi je dopuščeno, ali ni vse koristno. Vse mi je dopuščeno, ali jaz se ne dam ničemur obvladati.

¹²“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.

¹³Jedi so za trebuh, a trebuh za jedi, ali Bog bo onega in te pokončal. Telo pa ni za nečistost, nego za Gospoda in Gospod za telo.

¹³“Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

¹⁴Bog je pa Gospoda obudil, pa tudi nas obudi s svojo močjo.

¹⁴Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.

¹⁵Ne veste, da so vaša telesa udje Kristusovi? Vzamem naj torej ude Kristusove in jih storim ude nečistnice? Nikakor ne.

¹⁵Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!

¹⁶Ali pa ne veste, kdor se z nečistnico druži, da je eno telo ž njo? Kajti „ta dva“, je dejal, „bodeta eno meso“.

¹⁶Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two,” says he, “will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

¹⁷A kdor se z Gospodom druži, eden je duh ž njim.

¹⁷But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

¹⁸Bežite od nečistosti! Vsak greh, katerega koli stori človek, je zunaj telesa; kdor pa nečistuje, greši na lastnem telesu.

¹⁸Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

¹⁹Ali pa ne veste, da je vaše telo tempelj svetega Duha, ki prebiva v vas, ki ga imate od Boga, in niste sami svoji?Kajti kupljeni ste za drago ceno. Poslavite torej Boga v telesu svojem!

¹⁹Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,

²⁰Kajti kupljeni ste za drago ceno. Poslavite torej Boga v telesu svojem!

²⁰for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
