¹In duh me je vzdignil in me prenesel k vzhodnim vratom hiše GOSPODOVE, ki so obrnjena proti vzhodu. In glej, ob vhodu v vrata je bilo petindvajset mož; in videl sem sredi njih Jaazanija, sina Azurjevega, in Pelatija, sina Benajevega, kneza ljudstva.

¹Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward: and see, at the door of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw in their midst Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

²In mi je rekel: Sin človečji, to so tisti možje, ki izmišljajo krivico in sklepajo hudobne svete v tem mestu,

²He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city;

³ki govore: Ni blizu čas, da bi zidali hiše; to mesto je lonec, mi pa meso.

³who say, The time is not near to build houses: this is the caldron, and we are the meat.

⁴Zatorej prorokuj zoper nje, prorokuj, sin človečji!

⁴Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.

⁵In duh GOSPODOV pride nadme in mi veli: Reci: Tako pravi GOSPOD: Tako ste govorili, o hiša Izraelova; kajti jaz vem, kar preudarjate v srcu svojem.

⁵The Spirit of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahweh: Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

⁶Vi ste pomnožili prebodence svoje v tem mestu in ulice njegove ste napolnili s prebodenci.

⁶You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.

⁷Zato pravi tako Gospod Jehova: Prebodenci vaši, ki ste jih ob tla pometali sredi mesta, oni so meso, to mesto pa je lonec; vas pa odpeljejo ven iz njega.

⁷Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Your slain whom you have laid in its midst, they are the meat, and this is the caldron; but you shall be brought out of its midst.

⁸Meča ste se bali, in meč pripeljem nad vas, govori Gospod Jehova.

⁸You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you, says the Lord Yahweh.

⁹In peljal vas bom iz mesta in vas dal v roke tujcem, in izvršim sodbe nad vami.

⁹I will bring you forth out of its midst, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

¹⁰Od meča boste padali: ob meji Izraelovi vas bom sodil. In spoznate, da sem jaz GOSPOD.

¹⁰You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

¹¹To mesto vam ne bo lonec, tudi vi ne boste meso sredi njega: ob meji Izraelovi vas bom sodil.

¹¹This shall not be your caldron, neither shall you be the meat in its midst; I will judge you in the border of Israel;

¹²In spoznate, da sem jaz GOSPOD, po čigar postavah niste živeli in čigar ustanovil niste izpolnjevali, temuč ravnali ste po naredbah poganskih narodov, ki so okoli vas. –

¹²and you shall know that I am Yahweh: for you have not walked in my statutes, neither have you executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you.

¹³In zgodilo se je, ko sem prorokoval, da je umrl Pelatija, sin Benajev. Tedaj padem na obraz in zavpijem z močnim glasom in rečem: Ah, Gospod Jehova! hočeš li docela pokončati ostanek Izraelov?

¹³It happened, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

¹⁴In beseda GOSPODOVA pride do mene, govoreč:

¹⁴The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁵Sin človečji, tvoji bratje, tvoji bratje, tvojega sorodništva možje in vsa družina Izraelova, vsi sploh so tisti, katerim so govorili prebivalci v Jeruzalemu: Ostanite daleč od GOSPODA! nam je ta dežela dana v posest.

¹⁵Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.

¹⁶Zato reci: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Čeprav sem jih daleč pregnal med narode in čeprav sem jih razkropil po deželah, jim vendar hočem biti majhno svetišče po deželah, kamor so prišli.

¹⁶Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.

¹⁷Zato reci: Tako pravi Gospod Jehova: Res, zberem vas izmed ljudstev in skupim vas iz dežel, v katere ste se razkropili, in dam vam zemljo Izraelovo.

¹⁷Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

¹⁸In ko pridejo vanjo, odpravijo iz nje vse ostude njene in vse gnusobe njene.

¹⁸They shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all its abominations from there.

¹⁹In dam jim eno srce in dodelim novega duha v njih osrčje, in vzamem kameneno srce iz njih telesa in jim dam meseno srce:

¹⁹I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

²⁰da bi živeli po mojih postavah in sodbe moje izpolnjevali in po njih ravnali. In bodo mi ljudstvo in jaz jim bodem Bog.

²⁰that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

²¹Tistim pa, katerih srce živi po mislih njih grdob in gnusob, tistim spravim njih dejanje nad glavo, govori Gospod Jehova.

²¹But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

²²Tedaj so vzdignili kerubimi peruti in kolesa so šla vzporedno ž njimi; in slava Boga Izraelovega je bila zgoraj nad njimi.

²²Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

²³In slava GOSPODOVA se je vzdignila iznad sredi mesta in se je ustavila na gori, ki je proti jutru pred mestom.

²³The glory of Yahweh went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

²⁴In duh me vzdigne kvišku in me prenese v prikazni po duhu Božjem k ujetnikom v Kaldejo. In prikazen, ki sem jo videl, izgine gori pred menoj.In govoril sem ujetnikom besede GOSPODOVE, ki mi jih je bil pokazal.

²⁴The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

²⁵Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that Yahweh had shown me.
