1“Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock you were cut from, and to the hold of the pit you were dug from.
2Glejte na Abrahama, očeta svojega, in na Saro, ki vas je rodila: kajti poklical sem ga, ko je bil edinec, in sem ga blagoslovil in ga pomnožil.
2Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
3Zakaj GOSPOD je potolažil Sion, potolažil je vse razvaline njegove in je naredil puščavo njegovo kakor raj in samoto njegovo kakor vrt GOSPODOV; veselje in radost bo na njem, zahvala in psalmov glas.
3For Yahweh has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahweh; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
4Poslušajte me, ljudstvo moje, in narod moj, obrnite ušesa v me! kajti postava pride od mene, in pravico svojo postavim ljudstvom za svetlobo.
4“Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.
5Blizu je pravičnost moja, izšlo je zveličanje moje, in roke moje bodo sodile ljudstva, v meni bodo imeli upanje otoki in čakali bodo rame moje.
5My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.
6Povzdignite proti nebesom oči in glejte zemljo spodaj! zakaj nebesa izginejo kakor dim in zemlja se postara kakor obleka, in prebivalci njeni pomrjo enako. Ali zveličanje moje bode vekomaj in pravičnost moja se ne okruši.
6Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in the same way: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
7Poslušajte me vi, ki poznate pravičnost, ljudstvo, ki ima postavo mojo v srcu svojem: Ne bojte se zasramovanja smrtnega človeka in ne plašite se njih preklinjanja!
7“Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don’t fear the reproach of men, neither be dismayed at their insults.
8Zakaj kakor sukno jih razje molj in kakor volno jih razgrize črvič; pravičnost moja pa bode vekomaj in zveličanje moje od roda do roda.
8For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations.”
9Zbudi se, zbudi, obleci moč, o rama GOSPODOVA! Zbudi se kakor v starih časih, pri nekdanjih rodovih! Ali nisi ti tista, ki je razdrobila Egipt [Hebr. Rahab.], ki je presunila morskega velikana?
9Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn’t it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?
10Ali nisi ti tista, ki je posušila morje, velikega brezna vode, ki je naredila morske globočine za pot, po katerem naj preidejo odkupljeni?
10Isn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
11In odrešenci GOSPODOVI se vrnejo ter pridejo na Sion s petjem, in večna radost bode nad njih glavo; veselje in radost jih objame, a žalovanje in zdihovanje pobegne.
11The ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their heads. They shall obtain gladness and joy. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
12Jaz, jaz sam sem tolažitelj vaš. Kdo si ti, da se bojiš človeka, ki umrje, in sina človekovega, ki izgine kakor seno?
12“I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;
13in da zabiš GOSPODA, stvarnika svojega, ki je razpel nebo in ustanovil zemljo, in si v strahu vedno, vsak dan, zaradi togote stiskalčeve, ko se pripravlja, da bi pogubil? In kje je togota stiskalčeva?
13and have forgotten Yahweh your Maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
14Hitro bo izpeljan v prostost tisti, ki je sključen v okovih, in ne umre in ne pade v jamo, tudi ne bo pogrešal kruha svojega.
14The captive exile shall speedily be freed; and he shall not die and go down into the pit, neither shall his bread fail.
15Zakaj jaz sem GOSPOD, Bog tvoj, ki razburjam morje, da bučé njegovi valovi; GOSPOD nad vojskami je ime njegovo.
15For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar: Yahweh of Armies is his name.
16In položil sem besede svoje v usta tvoja in zakril sem te z roke svoje senco, da zgradim nebesa in ustanovim zemljo ter rečem Sionu: Ljudstvo si moje.
16I have put my words in your mouth, and have covered you in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and tell Zion, ‘You are my people.’”
17Zbudi se, zbudi, vstani, jeruzalemska hči, ki si iz roke GOSPODOVE pila togote njegove čašo; kupo, čašo omotno si pila, izsrebala.
17Awake, awake, stand up, Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of Yahweh the cup of his wrath; you have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.
18Nikogar ni bilo, da bi jo bil vodil, izmed vseh otrok, ki jih je rodila, ne enega, ki bi jo bil prijel za roko, izmed vseh sinov, ki jih je vzredila.
18There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she has brought forth; neither is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons who she has brought up.
19Tisto dvoje se ti je prigodilo, kdo bi te miloval? –: razdejanje in podrtje, lakota in meč. Kako naj te potolažim?
19These two things have happened to you. Who will bemoan you? Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort you?
20Otroci tvoji so onemogli, leže po vseh ulicah in voglih kakor jelen v mreži; polni so togote GOSPODOVE, grožnje Boga tvojega.
20Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of Yahweh, the rebuke of your God.
21Zato čuj vendar, o ponižana in pijana, a ne vina:
21Therefore hear now this, you afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
22Tako govori Gospod tvoj, Jehova, in Bog tvoj, ki se poteguje za pravdo ljudstva svojega: Glej, iz roke tvoje jemljem čašo omotno, čašo togote svoje: ne boš je več pila.Ampak dam jo v roko njih, ki te ponižujejo, ki so govorili duši tvoji: Vrzi se na tla, da pojdemo čeznjo! In ti si naredila kakor tla hrbet svoj in kakor cesto čezenj gredočim.
22Thus says your Lord Yahweh, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, “Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again:
23Ampak dam jo v roko njih, ki te ponižujejo, ki so govorili duši tvoji: Vrzi se na tla, da pojdemo čeznjo! In ti si naredila kakor tla hrbet svoj in kakor cesto čezenj gredočim.
23and I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, ‘Bow down, that we may walk over you;’ and you have laid your back as the ground, and as the street, to those who walk over.”
