1Glejte, ni prekratka roka GOSPODOVA, da ne more rešiti, tudi uho njegovo ni gluho, da ne more slišati;
1Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; neither his ear heavy, that it can’t hear:
2ali krivice vaše so postale pregrada med vami in Bogom vašim, in grehi vaši so zagrnili obličje njegovo pred vami, da ne sliši.
2but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
3Zakaj roke vaše so oskrunjene s krvjo in prsti vaši s krivico, ustne vaše govore laži, jezik vaš golči krivičnost.
3For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness.
4Nihče ne kliče po pravičnosti in nihče se ne poteguje za pravdo v resnici; stavijo up na ničemurnost in govore laž, spočenjajo nadlogo in rode zlobo.
4None sues in righteousness, and none pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5Jajca modrasova vale in pajčevine tko; kdor jé njih jajca, umre, in če se katero stare, skoči iz njega gad.
5They hatch adders’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he who eats of their eggs dies; and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper.

6Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths.

8The way of peace they don’t know; and there is no justice in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whoever goes therein does not know peace.
9Zato je daleč od nas pravica in pravičnost ne prihaja do nas. Čakamo svetlobe, a glej: le tema! čakamo jasnega svita, a hodimo po črni temini!
9Therefore is justice far from us, neither does righteousness overtake us: we look for light, but, behold, darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity.
10Kakor slepci otipavamo steno, tavamo kakor brez oči; zadevamo se prav opoldne kakor ob mraku; med zdravimi smo kakor mrtvi.
10We grope for the wall like the blind; yes, we grope as those who have no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; among those who are lusty we are as dead men.
11Renčimo vsi kakor medvedje, žalostno grulimo kakor golobje. Čakamo pravice, ali ni je, rešenja, a daleč je od nas.
11We roar all like bears, and moan bitterly like doves: we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12Kajti pomnožile so se pregrehe naše pred teboj in grehi naši pričajo zoper nas; zakaj pregreh svojih smo si v svesti in krivice svoje poznamo:
12For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them:
13da odpadamo od GOSPODA in ga tajimo in se obračamo, da ne bi šli za Bogom svojim; zatiranje govorimo in odpad, sprejemamo v se besede lažnive in jih iz srca govorimo.
13transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14Tako je odvrnjena pravica, in pravičnost stoji oddaleč; zakaj resnica je padla na ulicah in poštenost ne more vstopiti.
14Justice is turned away backward, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness can’t enter.
15In resnica je redka reč, in kdor se ogiblje hudega, je drugim v plen. To je videl GOSPOD, in hudo je bilo v očeh njegovih, da ni nikake pravice.
15Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.
16In videl je, da ni nobenega moža, in se je zavzel, da ni nobenega posrednika. Zato mu je rešitev napravila rama njegova, in pravičnost njegova, ta ga je podpirala.
16He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him.
17In oblekel je pravičnost kakor oklep in dejal si čelado zveličanja na glavo; oblekel je, pravim, maščevanja oblačilo in ogrnil se je z gorečnostjo kakor s plaščem.
17He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.
18Prav po dejanjih, prav po njih bo povračal, togoto nasprotnikom svojim, kazen sovražnikom svojim; še otokom bo plačal povračilo.
18According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.
19In bali se bodo od zahoda imena GOSPODOVEGA in slave njegove od solnčnega vzhoda. Ko se kakor reka privali sovražnik, ga dih GOSPODOV zapodi v beg.
19So shall they fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Yahweh drives.
20In Sionu pride odrešenik in njim, ki se odvračajo od pregrehe v Jakobu, govori GOSPOD.Jaz pa – to je moja zaveza ž njimi, pravi GOSPOD: Duh moj, ki je nad teboj, in besede moje, ki sem jih položil v usta tvoja, se ne umaknejo iz tvojih ust, ne iz zaroda tvojega ust, ne iz ust potomcev tvojega zaroda, pravi GOSPOD, od tega časa vekomaj.
20“A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from disobedience in Jacob,” says Yahweh.
21Jaz pa – to je moja zaveza ž njimi, pravi GOSPOD: Duh moj, ki je nad teboj, in besede moje, ki sem jih položil v usta tvoja, se ne umaknejo iz tvojih ust, ne iz zaroda tvojega ust, ne iz ust potomcev tvojega zaroda, pravi GOSPOD, od tega časa vekomaj.
21“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says Yahweh. “My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says Yahweh, “from henceforth and forever.”
