⁹In veli: Pojdi in reci temu ljudstvu: Poslušajoč čujte, a ne umejte, in gledajoč vidite, a ne spoznajte!

⁹He said, “Go, and tell this people, ‘You hear indeed, but don’t understand; and you see indeed, but don’t perceive.’

¹⁰Stóri, da se odebeli temu ljudstvu srce, in zamaši mu ušesa in zatisni mu oči, da ne bi videli z očmi svojimi in ne slišali z ušesi svojimi in ne umeli s srcem svojim, da se ne izpreobrnejo ter jim ne pride zdravje.

¹⁰Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”

¹¹Nato rečem: Doklej, Gospod? In odgovori: Dokler se ne opustošijo mesta, da ne bo prebivalca, in hiše, da bodo brez ljudi, in dokler ne bo dežela opustošena in zapuščena

¹¹Then I said, “Lord, how long?” He answered, “Until cities are waste without inhabitant, and houses without man, and the land becomes utterly waste,

¹²in Gospod ne požene daleč ljudi ter bode veliko zapuščenih krajev v deželi.In ako jih še desetina ostane v njej, pokonča se tudi ta; toda kakor od terebinte in od hrasta, ko se posekata, ostane korenika, tako je sveto seme njih korenika.
