1Kdo je ta, ki prihaja od Edoma, v rdeče pobarvani obleki iz Bozre? Krasen je v svoji obleki, ponosno stopa v obili moči svoji! – Jaz sem, ki govorim v pravičnosti, premogočen za rešenje. –
1Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2Zakaj si rdeč po obleki in oblačila tvoja kakor njega, ki tlači v tlačilnici? –
2Why are you red in your clothing, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?
3Tlačil sem v tlačilnici sam, in izmed ljudstev ni bilo nikogar z menoj; zatorej sem jih teptal v jezi svoji in jih gazil v togoti svoji, da se je ž njih životnim sokom oškropila obleka moja in sem si vsa oblačila omadeževal.
3“I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yes, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.
4Zakaj dan maščevanja je bil v srcu mojem in moje leto odrešenja je prišlo.
4For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.
5In oziral sem se, a ni bilo nobenega pomočnika, in strmel sem, da ni nikogar, ki bi podpiral. Tedaj mi je rešenje prinesla rama moja, in togota moja, ta me je podpirala.
5I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my wrath, it upheld me.
6In teptal sem ljudstva v jezi svoji in sem jih upijanil v togoti svoji, in njih životni sok sem izlil na tla.
6I trod down the peoples in my anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”
7Milosti GOSPODOVIH se bom hvalno spominjal, slavnih del GOSPODOVIH, po vsem, kar nam je podelil GOSPOD, in obilne dobrote hiši Izraelovi, ki jim jo je izkazal po usmiljenju svojem in po obilosti milosti svojih.
7I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Yahweh and the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
8Kajti rekel je: Res, ljudstvo moje so, sinovi, ki ne bodo ravnali lažnivo. Torej jim je bil rešitelj.
8For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely:” so he was their Savior.
9V vsej njih stiski je bil sam stiskan, in angel obličja njegovega jih je reševal. V svoji ljubezni in usmiljenosti jih je odkupil sam in dvignil jih je nase ter jih nosil vse dni nekdanje.
9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
10Ali oni so se uprli in žalili duha svetosti njegove; zato se jim je izpremenil v sovražnika, sam se je boril proti njim.
10But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he himself fought against them.
11Tedaj se je spominjalo ljudstvo njegovo dni nekdanjih, dni Mojzesovih: Kje je, ki jih je izpeljal z morja s pastirji črede svoje vred? Kje je, ki je mednje dal duha svetosti svoje?
11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he who put his holy Spirit in their midst?
12ki jih je spremljal Mojzesu na desnici z veličastno ramo svojo? ki je razklal vode pred njimi, da bi si napravil ime večno?
12who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
13ki jih je vodil skozi globočine kakor konja po puščavi, da se niso spoteknili?
13who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?
14Kakor žival stopa nazaj v dolino, jih je peljal duh GOSPODOV v pokoj: tako si vodil ljudstvo svoje, da si napraviš ime veličastno.
14As the livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Yahweh caused them to rest; so you led your people, to make yourself a glorious name.
15Ozri se iz nebes in poglej iz prebivališča svetosti in veličasti svoje! kje je gorečnost tvoja in kje mogočna dela tvoja? Nagib svojega srca in svojo usmiljenost zadržuješ meni.
15Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where are your zeal and your mighty acts? the yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.
16Saj ti si oče naš; kajti Abraham ne ve za nas in Izrael nas ne pozna, ti, o GOSPOD, si oče naš; odrešenik naš od vekomaj ti je ime.
16For you are our Father, though Abraham doesn’t know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us: you, Yahweh, are our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is your name.
17Zakaj pripuščaš, o GOSPOD, da zahajamo od potov tvojih, zakaj si nam zakrknil srce, da se te ne bojimo? Vrni se k nam zaradi hlapcev svojih, zavoljo rodov dediščine svoje!
17O Yahweh, why do you make us to err from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
18Le malo časa jo je imelo v posesti ljudstvo svetosti tvoje: sovražniki naši so razteptali svetišče tvoje.Postali smo kakor tisti, ki jim nikoli nisi gospodoval, ki se niso imenovali po tvojem imenu!
18Your holy people possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.
19Postali smo kakor tisti, ki jim nikoli nisi gospodoval, ki se niso imenovali po tvojem imenu!
19We have become as they over whom you never bear rule, as those who were not called by your name.
