¹In prišla mi je beseda GOSPODOVA, govoreč:

¹The word of Yahweh came also to me, saying,

²Ne jemlji si žene in ne imej sinov ali hčer v tem kraju.

²You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place.

³Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD o sinovih in hčerah, rojenih v tem kraju, in o njih materah, ki jih rodé, in o njih očetih, ki so jih rodili v tej deželi:

³For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:

⁴Za najhujšimi boleznimi bodo umrli, ne bode joka po njih in pokopani ne bodo; za gnoj bodo na površju zemlje; in od meča in glada bodo padali in njih trupla bodo za jed pticam pod nebom in zverem zemeljskim.

⁴They shall die grievous deaths: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung on the surface of the ground; and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth.

⁵Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD: Ne stopaj v hišo žalosti in ne hodi jokat in ne miluj jih; kajti vzel sem nazaj svoj mir od tega ljudstva, govori GOSPOD, blagovoljnost in usmiljenje.

⁵For thus says Yahweh, Don’t enter into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, says Yahweh, even loving kindness and tender mercies.

⁶I veliki i mali bodo pomrli v tej deželi; ne bodo jih pokopali in jokali se ne bodo za njimi, ne bodo si delali vrezkov, ne pleše zanje;

⁶Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them;

⁷in ne bodo jim delili kruha ob žalovanju, da bi potolažili koga za umrlega, in piti jim ne bodo dajali iz čaše tolažbe za očeta ali za mater katerega izmed njih.

⁷neither shall men break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.

⁸Tudi v hišo pojedine ne hodi, da bi sedel med njimi, da bi jedel in da bi pil.

⁸You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.

⁹Zakaj tako pravi GOSPOD nad vojskami, Bog Izraelov: Glej, jaz storim, da pojde iz tega kraja pred vašimi očmi in v vaših dneh glas veselja in radosti glas, glas ženina in glas neveste.

⁹For thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

¹⁰In ko naznaniš temu ljudstvu vse te besede, če ti poreko: Zakaj je izgovoril GOSPOD zoper nas vso tisto preveliko nesrečo? in kaka je krivica naša ali kakšen je greh naš, s katerim smo grešili zoper GOSPODA, Boga našega?

¹⁰It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God?

¹¹tedaj jim reci: Zato ker so me zapustili očetje vaši, govori GOSPOD, in so hodili za tujimi bogovi ter jih častili in se jim klanjali; mene pa so zapustili in niso držali postave moje.

¹¹Then you shall tell them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;

¹²Vi pa ste delali huje kakor očetje vaši; kajti glej, vsak hodi po trmi hudobnega srca svojega, tako da ne poslušate mene.

¹²and you have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me:

¹³Zato vas vržem ven iz te dežele v deželo, ki je niste poznali ne vi, ne očetje vaši, in tam boste služili tujim bogovom noč in dan, ker vam ne dam milosti.

¹³therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor.

¹⁴Zatorej, glej, pridejo dnevi, govori GOSPOD, ko se ne bo več reklo: Kakor resnično živi GOSPOD, ki je izpeljal Izraelce iz dežele Egiptovske,

¹⁴Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be said, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

¹⁵ampak: Kakor resnično živi GOSPOD, ki je izpeljal Izraelce iz dežele severne in iz vseh krajev, kamor jih je bil izgnal. In jih bom pripeljal nazaj v njih deželo, katero sem bil dal njih očetom.

¹⁵but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them. I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.

¹⁶Glej, jaz pošljem k mnogim ribičem, govori GOSPOD, da jih bodo lovili kakor ribe; in nato pošljem k mnogim lovcem, da jih bodo lovili z vsake gore in z vsakega hriba, tudi iz skalnih lukenj.

¹⁶Behold, I will send for many fishermen, says Yahweh, and they shall fish them up; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.

¹⁷Kajti moje oči gledajo na vse njih poti, niso skrite obličju mojemu, tudi njih krivica ni prikrita mojim očem.

¹⁷For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.

¹⁸Ali poprej poplačam dvojno njih krivico in njih greh, zato ker so oskrunili deželo mojo s trupli svojih ostudnih stvari in so z gnusobami napolnili dediščino mojo.

¹⁸First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.

¹⁹O GOSPOD, moč moja in grad moj in pribežališče moje v dan stiske! K tebi pridejo narodi od koncev zemlje in poreko: Samo laž so podedovali očetje naši, ničemurnost in kar nič ne koristi.

¹⁹Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.

²⁰Kako si more človek delati bogove, ki vendar niso bogovi?Zato, glej, jim pokažem, takrat jim pokažem roko svojo in svojo moč, in spoznajo, da je ime moje Jehova.

²⁰Shall a man make to himself gods, which yet are no gods?

²¹Zato, glej, jim pokažem, takrat jim pokažem roko svojo in svojo moč, in spoznajo, da je ime moje Jehova.

²¹Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once will I cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yahweh.
