1To je povedal Jezus ter povzdigne oči k nebu in reče: Oče, ura je prišla; oslavi Sina svojega, da tudi Sin tvoj tebe oslavi;
1Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you;
2kakor si mu dal oblast nad vsem človeštvom, da dá večno življenje vsem, ki si mu jih dal.
2 even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him.
3Večno življenje je pa to, da spoznajo tebe, edinega resničnega Boga, in katerega si poslal, Jezusa Kristusa.
3 This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
4Jaz sem te oslavil na zemlji; delo sem dokončal, ki si mi ga dal, da ga storim:
4 I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do.
5in zdaj oslavi ti, Oče, mene sam pri sebi s slavo, ki sem jo imel pri tebi, preden je bil svet.
5 Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed.
6Razodel sem ime tvoje ljudem, katere si mi dal od sveta. Tvoji so bili, in meni si jih dal, in besedo tvojo so ohranili.
6 I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word.
7Sedaj vedo, da je vse, karkoli si mi dal, od tebe:
7 Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you,
8kajti besede, ki si jih meni dal, sem dal njim; in oni so jih sprejeli in spoznali resnično, da sem od tebe izšel, in so verovali, da si me ti poslal.
8 for the words which you have given me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew for sure that I came forth from you, and they have believed that you sent me.
9Jaz prosim zanje; ne prosim za svet, ampak za te, ki si mi jih dal, ker so tvoji;
9 I pray for them. I don’t pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.
10in vse moje je tvoje, in tvoje je moje; in oslavljen sem v njih.
10 All things that are mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.
11In nisem več na svetu, a ti so na svetu; jaz pa grem k tebi. Oče sveti! ohrani jih v imenu svojem, katere si mi dal, da bodo eno, kakor mi.
11 I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
12Dokler sem bil ž njimi, sem jih varoval v imenu tvojem; katere si mi dal, sem ohranil, in nobeden izmed njih ni poginil, razen sin pogube, da se izpolni pismo.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. Those whom you have given me I have kept. None of them is lost, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
13Sedaj pa grem k tebi, in to govorim na svetu, da imajo radost mojo dopolnjeno v sebi.
13 But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.
14Jaz sem jim dal besedo tvojo, in svet jih je sovražil, ker niso od sveta, kakor jaz nisem od sveta.
14 I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15Ne prosim, da jih vzemi s sveta, ampak da jih obvaruj zlega.
15 I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
16Od sveta niso, kakor jaz nisem od sveta.
16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.
17Posveti jih v resnici: tvoja beseda je resnica.
17 Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth. Psalm 119:142
18Kakor si mene poslal na svet, sem poslal tudi jaz nje na svet;
18 As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.
19in zanje sam sebe posvečujem, da bodo tudi oni posvečeni v resnici.
19 For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
20Ne prosim pa samo za te, ampak tudi za tiste, ki bodo po njih besedi verovali v mene:
20 Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word,
21da bodo vsi eno; kakor ti, Oče, v meni in jaz v tebi, da bodo tudi oni v nas eno, da bi svet veroval, da si me ti poslal.
21 that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.
22In jaz sem slavo, ki si jo meni dal, dal njim, da bodo eno, kakor smo mi eno.
22 The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one;
23Jaz v njih in ti v meni, da bodo popolnoma združeni v eno, in da spozna svet, da si me ti poslal in si jih ljubil, kakor si mene ljubil.
23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.
24Oče, katere si mi dal, hočem, kjer sem jaz, da bodo tudi oni z menoj, da vidijo mojo slavo, ki si mi jo dal, ker si me ljubil pred začetkom sveta.
24 Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
25Oče pravični! svet tebe ni spoznal, a jaz sem te spoznal, in ti so spoznali, da si me ti poslal;in oznanil sem jim ime tvoje, in oznanjeval ga bom: da bode ljubezen, s katero si me ljubil, v njih in jaz v njih.
25 Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me.
26in oznanil sem jim ime tvoje, in oznanjeval ga bom: da bode ljubezen, s katero si me ljubil, v njih in jaz v njih.
26 I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
