1I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2Mene vodi in goni po temi, ne pa po svetlobi.
2He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
3Samo meni nasprotujoč, obrača proti meni roko svojo ves dan.
3Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
4Storil je, da se je postaralo meso moje in koža moja, kosti moje je potrl.
4My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
5Zidal je zoper mene in me obdal s strupeno grenkobo in nadlogo.
5He has built against me, and surrounded me with gall and travail.
6Velel mi je bivati v temnih krajih, kakor tisti, ki so mrtvi za vselej.
6He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
7Ogradil me je, da ne morem uiti, dejal me je v težko železje.
7He has walled me about, that I can’t go forth; he has made my chain heavy.
8Ko tudi kličem in vpijem, ne pusti k sebi prošnje moje.
8Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
9Pota moja je zagradil z rezanim kamenjem, steze mi je izprevrgel.
9He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
10Kakor prežeč medved mi je, kakor lev v zasedi.
10He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
11Pota moja je napravil tavajoča in me je raztrgal, me opustošil.
11He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
12Napel je lok svoj in me je postavil pšici svoji za cilj.
12He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13V ledice moje je izpustil tula svojega strelice.
13He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.
14V smeh sem vsemu ljudstvu svojemu, njih pesmica ves dan.
14I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
15Nasitil me je z najhujšo bridkostjo, upijanil me je s pelinom.
15He has filled me with bitterness, he has sated me with wormwood.
16In s kamenjem mi je zdrobil zobe, povalil me je v pepel.
16He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes.
17In vržena je daleč od miru duša moja, pozabil sem, kar je sreča.
17You have removed my soul far off from peace; I forgot prosperity.
18In rekel sem: Izginila je moč moja in moje upanje v GOSPODA.
18I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh.
19Spomni se edinščine moje in tavanja mojega, pelina in grenkega strupa!
19Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20Spominja se tega vedno duša moja in je potrta v meni.
20My soul still remembers them, and is bowed down within me.
21To si hočem vtisniti v srce, zato bom upal:
21This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
22Prevelika dobrotljivost GOSPODOVA je, da nismo docela pokončani, ker nima konca usmiljenje njegovo,
22It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail.
23novo je vsako jutro; preobila je zvestoba tvoja.
23They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
24Delež moj je GOSPOD, govori duša moja, zato bom upal vanj.
24Yahweh is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25Dober je GOSPOD njim, ki ga čakajo, duši, ki ga išče.
25Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
26Dobro je možu, da upa in tiho čaka rešitve GOSPODOVE.
26It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.
27Dobro je možu, da je nosil jarem v mladosti svoji.
27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
28Samoten naj sedi in molči, ker mu ga je naložil Gospod.
28Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he has laid it on him.
29V prah naj položi usta: morda je še upanje.
29Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
30Njemu, ki ga bije, naj pomoli lice svoje; nasiti se naj s sramoto.
30Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled full with reproach.
31Kajti Gospod ne zameta vekomaj;
31For the Lord will not cast off forever.
32marveč, ko je užalostil, se tudi usmili po obilosti dobrot svojih.
32For though he cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
33Nikakor ne muči iz srca, ne žali otrok človeških.
33For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.
34Če kdo gazi vse zvezane na zemlji,
34To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
35če zavija pravico možu pred obličjem Najvišjega,
35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
36če prekanja človeka v pravdi njegovi: ne bo li Gospod pazil na to?
36To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord doesn’t approve.
37Kdo je, ki je velel, in se je zgodilo, če ni tega zapovedal Gospod?
37Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it?
38Ali ne prihaja iz ust Najvišjega hudo in dobro?
38Doesn’t evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
39Kaj bi tožil človek, dokler živi? Vsakdo naj toži zaradi svojih grehov!
39Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40Preiskujmo ter izsledujmo pota svoja in vrnimo se do GOSPODA!
40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh.
41Povzdignimo dušo svojo z rokami vred k Bogu mogočnemu v nebesih!
41Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” in the heavens.
42Mi, mi smo se pregrešili in se uprli; ti nisi odpustil.
42We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned.
43Ogrnil si se z jezo in preganjal nas, moril si brez milosti.
43You have covered with anger and pursued us; you have killed, you have not pitied.
44Z oblakom si se ogrnil, da ne predere molitev.
44You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
45Za nesnago in izmeček si nas postavil sredi ljudstev.
45You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
46Vsi sovražniki naši so usta svoja razširili zoper nas.
46All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
47Groza in jama sta blizu nas, razdejanje in poguba.
47Fear and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.
48Potoke vodá toči oko moje zavoljo pogube hčere mojega ljudstva.
48My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49Oko moje se solzi in ne neha, ni nobenega prestanka,
49My eye pours down, and doesn’t cease, without any intermission,
50dokler se GOSPOD iz nebes ne ozre in ne vidi.
50Until Yahweh look down, and see from heaven.
51Oko moje mi žali srce zavoljo vseh hčer mesta mojega.
51My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
52Lovili so me hudo kakor ptičico, kateri me sovražijo brez vzroka.
52They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
53V jamo so pehnili življenje moje, da me uničijo, in kamenje so lučali v me.
53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me.
54Vode so mi kipele čez glavo, dejal sem: Pokončan sem!
54Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
55Klical sem ime tvoje, o GOSPOD, iz jame pregloboke.
55I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon.
56Glas moj si čul; ne skrivaj ušesa svojega zdihovanju mojemu, vpitju mojemu.
56You heard my voice; don’t hide your ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57Približal si se tisti dan, ko sem klical; rekel si: Ne boj se!
57You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, Don’t be afraid.
58Sodil si, Gospod, pravdo duše moje, odrešil si življenje moje.
58Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
59Videl si, o GOSPOD, krivico, ki se mi godi; razsodi pravdo mojo!
59Yahweh, you have seen my wrong. Judge my cause.
60Videl si vse njih maščevanje in vse njih naklepe zoper mene.
60You have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
61Slišal si njih zasramovanje, o GOSPOD, in vse njih namere zoper mene,
61You have heard their reproach, Yahweh, and all their devices against me,
62govorjenje tistih, ki so vstali nadme, in njih izmišljevanje zoper mene ves dan.
62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
63Glej jih, ko sede in ko vstajajo, da jim sem za pesmico!
63You see their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.
64Plačaj jim povračilo, GOSPOD, po njih rok delu.
64You will render to them a recompense, Yahweh, according to the work of their hands.
65Daj jim zaslepljenost srca, prokletje tvoje pridi nadnje!Preganjaj jih v jezi in zatri jih izpod nebes GOSPODOVIH!
65You will give them hardness of heart, your curse to them.
66Preganjaj jih v jezi in zatri jih izpod nebes GOSPODOVIH!
66You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Yahweh.
