¹In ko je stopil z gore, so šle za njim velike množice.

¹When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

²In glej, gobavec pride ter se mu poklanja in reče: Gospod, če hočeš, me moreš očistiti.

²Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

³In Jezus iztegne roko ter se ga dotakne, rekoč: Hočem, bodi očiščen! In takoj je bil očiščen svojih gob.

³Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁴In reče mu Jezus: Glej, da nikomur ne poveš, temuč pojdi, pokaži se duhovniku in opravi daritev, ki jo je ukazal Mojzes, njim v pričevanje.

⁴Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

⁵Ko pa pride v Kafarnavm, pristopi k njemu stotnik, ga zaprosi

⁵When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,

⁶in reče: Gospod, hlapec moj leži doma mrtvouden in se grozno muči.

⁶and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”

⁷Jezus mu reče: Pridem in ga ozdravim.

⁷Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

⁸In stotnik odgovori in reče: Gospod, nisem vreden, da prideš pod streho mojo, ampak reci le besedo, in hlapec moj ozdravi.

⁸The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁹Kajti tudi jaz sem človek pod oblastjo in imam vojake pod seboj, pa velim temu: Pojdi! in gre, in drugemu: Pridi! in pride, in hlapcu svojemu: Stori to! in stori.

⁹For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

¹⁰Ko pa Jezus to sliši, se začudi in reče tistim, ki so šli za njim: Resnično vam pravim, pri nikomer v Izraelu nisem našel tolike vere.

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

¹¹Pravim vam pa, da jih pride mnogo od vzhoda in zahoda, in sedeli bodo z Abrahamom in Izakom in Jakobom v nebeškem kraljestvu,

¹¹ I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

¹²a sinovi kraljestva bodo vrženi v zunanjo temo: tam bo jok in škripanje z zobmi.

¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹³In Jezus veli stotniku: Pojdi, in kakor si veroval, naj se ti zgodi. In hlapec njegov je ozdravel tisto uro.

¹³Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.

¹⁴In ko pride Jezus na Petrov dom, vidi taščo njegovo, da leži in jo trese mrzlica.

¹⁴When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

¹⁵In dotakne se njene roke, in mrzlica jo pusti; in je vstala ter mu je stregla.

¹⁶Ko se je pa zvečerilo, mu prineso mnogo obsedencev; in izžene duhove z besedo in ozdravi vse bolnike;

¹⁶When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;

¹⁷da se izpolni, kar je rečeno po proroku Izaiju, ki pravi: „On je nase vzel slabosti naše in nosil bolezni naše.“

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” Isaiah 53:4

¹⁸Ko pa vidi Jezus mnogo ljudstva okoli sebe, ukaže iti na drugo stran.

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁹Pa pristopi k njemu neki pismar in mu reče: Učenik, hočem za tabo hoditi, kamorkoli pojdeš.

¹⁹A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

²⁰In reče mu Jezus: Lisice imajo brloge in ptice pod nebom gnezda, a Sin človekov nima, kamor bi naslonil glavo svojo.

²⁰Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

²¹A nekdo drugi učencev njegovih mu reče: Gospod, dovoli mi najprej, da grem in pokopljem očeta svojega.

²¹Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

²²Jezus mu pa reče: Pojdi za menoj in pusti, naj mrtvi pokopavajo mrliče svoje.

²²But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²³In ko vstopi v ladjo, vstopijo za njim učenci njegovi.

²³When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.

²⁴In glej, velik vihar nastane na morju, tolik, da zagrinjajo valovi ladjo: on pa je spal.

²⁴Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

²⁵In pristopijo učenci ter ga zbudé, govoreč: Gospod, otmi nas, pogibljemo!

²⁵They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

²⁶In jim reče: Kaj ste boječi, maloverni? Tedaj vstane, zapretí vetrovom in morju, in velika tihota nastane.

²⁶He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁷Ljudje se pa začudijo in reko: Kdo neki je ta, da so mu tudi vetrovi in morje pokorni?

²⁷The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

²⁸In ko pride na drugo stran, v pokrajino Gadarenov, ga srečata dva obsedenca, ki sta prišla iz grobov, in sta bila silno divja, da ni mogel nihče mimo iti po tisti poti.

²⁸When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, NU reads “Gadarenes” two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.

²⁹In glej, zakričita in rečeta: Kaj imaš z nami, Jezus, Sin Božji? Si li sem prišel, da bi nas pred časom mučil?

²⁹Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

³⁰In daleč od njiju se je pasla velika čreda svinj.

³⁰Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³¹Zli duhovi pa ga prosijo, govoreč: Če nas izganjaš, pošlji nas v čredo svinj.

³¹The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

³²In jim veli: Pojdite! In oni zapusté obsedenca in odidejo v čredo svinj; in glej, vsa čreda se zakadi z brega v morje in potonejo v vodi.

³²He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

³³Pastirji pa zbežé in prišedši v mesto, naznanijo vse, tudi to o obsedencih.In glej, vse mesto pride Jezusu naproti, in ko ga ugledajo, zaprosijo, naj odide iz njih krajev.

³³Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.
