1Zvino iwe taura zvinhu zvakafanira dzidziso mhenyu.
1But do *thou* speak the things that become sound teaching;
2Varume vakuru kuti vave vakadzikama, vanokudzwa, vakangwara, vapenyu parutendo, parudo, pakutsungirira;
2that the elder men be sober, grave, discreet, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
3saizvozvowo vakadzi vakuru, kuti pamafambiro vave sezvakafanira utsvene, kwete vacheri, kana vanokarira waini zhinji, vadzidzisi vezvinhu zvakanaka,
3that the elder women in like manner be in deportment as becoming those who have to say to sacred things, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is right;
4kuti vadzidzise vakadzi vaduku kusvinura mufungwa, kuda varume vavo, nekuda vana vavo,
4that they may admonish the young women to be attached to [their] husbands, to be attached to [their] children,
5vakachenjera, vakachena, vachengeti vemisha, vakanaka, vanoteerera varume vavo, kuti shoko raMwari rirege kunyombwa.
5discreet, chaste, diligent in home work, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of.
6Varume vaduku saizvozvo ukurudzire kuti vave vakasvinura;
6The younger men in like manner exhort to be discreet:
7pazvinhu zvose iwe uzviratidze semufananidzo wamabasa akanaka, padzidziso isakasvibiswa, nemugariro unokudzwa nekuvimbika,
7in all things affording thyself as a pattern of good works; in teaching uncorruptedness, gravity,
8nhauro yakagwinya isingagoni kushoorwa, kuti uyo wedivi rinopikisa anyare, asina chinhu chakaipa chaangareva pamusoro penyu.
8a sound word, not to be condemned; that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us:
9Kurudzira varanda kuzviisa pasi pavatenzi vavo, kuti vafadze pazvose, vasingakakavari,
9bondmen to be subject to their own masters, to make themselves acceptable in everything; not gainsaying;
10vasingabi, asi varatidze kutendeka kwakanaka kose, kuti vashongedze dzidziso yaMwari Muponesi wedu pazvinhu zvose.
10not robbing [their masters], but shewing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the teaching which [is] of our Saviour God in all things.
11Nekuti nyasha dzaMwari dzinoponesa dzakaratidzwa kuvanhu vose,
11For the grace of God which carries with it salvation for all men has appeared,
12Dzichitidzidzisa kuti, tichiramba kusava neuMwari nekuchiva kwenyika, tirarame nekusvinura, kururama neuMwari panyika yazvino,
12teaching us that, having denied impiety and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, and justly, and piously in the present course of things,
13tichimirira tariro yakaropafadzwa, nekuratidzwa kwekubwinya kwaMwari mukuru neMuponesi wedu Jesu Kristu.
13awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
14wakazvipa nekuda kwedu, kuti atidzikinure pakuipa kose, kuti azvinatsire vanhu vakasanangurwa, vanoshingairira mabasa akanaka.
14who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works.
15Taura zvinhu izvi, ukurudzire, utsiure nesimba rose; kurege kuva nomunhu unokuzvidza.
15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise thee.
