¹Waxyaalahaas ka dib ereygii Ilaah baa Aabraam ugu yimid muuqasho ahaan, isagoo leh, Aabraamow, ha baqin: anigu waxaan ahay gaashaankaaga, abaalgudkaaguna aad buu u weynaan doonaa.

¹After these things hath the word of Jehovah been unto Abram in a vision, saying, `Fear not, Abram, I [am] a shield to thee, thy reward [is] exceeding great.`

²Oo Aabraam wuxuu yidhi, Sayidow Rabbiyow, maxaad i siin doontaa? Waayo, anigu carruurla'aan baan sii socdaa, reerkaygana waxaa dhaxli doona Eliiceser oo ah reer Dimishaq.

²And Abram saith, `Lord Jehovah, what dost Thou give to me, and I am going childless? and an acquired son in my house is Demmesek Eliezer.`

³Oo Aabraam wuxuu yidhi, Bal eeg, aniga ima aad siin farcan: oo mid gurigayga ku dhashay baa i dhaxlaya.

³And Abram saith, `Lo, to me Thou hast not given seed, and lo, a domestic doth heir me.`

⁴Oo bal eeg, ereygii Rabbigaa u yimid, isagoo leh, Ninkanu kuma dhaxli doono: laakiinse waxaa ku dhaxli doona wiil aad dhali doontid.

⁴And lo, the word of Jehovah [is] unto him, saying, `This [one] doth not heir thee; but he who cometh out from thy bowels, he doth heir thee;`

⁵Oo dibadduu u soo bixiyey, oo ku yidhi, Bal samada fiiri, oo xiddigaha tiri, haddaad tirin kartid: oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Sidaas oo kalaa farcankaagu ahaan doonaa.

⁵and He bringeth him out without, and saith, `Look attentively, I pray thee, towards the heavens, and count the stars, if thou art able to count them;` and He saith to him, `Thus is thy seed.`

⁶Oo Rabbiga wuu rumaystay; Ilaahna taas wuxuu ugu tiriyey xaqnimo.

⁶And he hath believed in Jehovah, and He reckoneth it to him — righteousness.

⁷Oo wuxuu ku yidhi isaga, Anigu waxaan ahay Rabbiga kaaga soo kaxeeyey Uur tii reer Kaldayiin, inaan ku siiyo dalkan si aad u dhaxashid.

⁷And He saith unto him, `I [am] Jehovah who brought thee out from Ur of the Chaldees, to give to thee this land to possess it;`

⁸Oo Aabraam wuxuu yidhi, Sayidow Rabbiyow, maxaan ku ogaadaa inaan dhaxli doono?

⁸and he saith, `Lord Jehovah, whereby do I know that I possess it?`

⁹Oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Ii kaxee qaalin lo' ah oo saddex jir ah, iyo ceesaan saddex jir ah, iyo wan saddex jir ah, iyo qoolley, iyo xamaam yar.

⁹And He saith unto him, `Take for Me a heifer of three years, and a she-goat of three years, and a ram of three years, and a turtle-dove, and a young bird;`

¹⁰Oo wuu u kaxeeyey kuwaas oo dhan, oo badhtankuu ka kala wada gooyay, oo badh kastaba kan kaluu hor dhigay: laakiinse shimbirrihii ma uu kala gooyn.

¹⁰and he taketh to him all these, and separateth them in the midst, and putteth each piece over against its fellow, but the bird he hath not divided;

¹¹Haad baana hilibkii ku soo degtay, laakiinse Aabraam baa ka eryay.

¹¹and the ravenous birds come down upon the carcases, and Abram causeth them to turn back.

¹²Oo kolkii qorraxdu sii dhacaysay, ayaa hurdo aad u weynu Aabraam ku soo dhacday; oo bal eeg, cabsi gudcur weyn leh baa ku soo degtay.

¹²And the sun is about to go in, and deep sleep hath fallen upon Abram, and lo, a terror of great darkness is falling upon him;

¹³Markaasuu wuxuu ku yidhi Aabraam, Ogow in hubaal farcankaagu ay dad qalaad ku ahaan doonaan dal aan kooda ahayn, oo ay u adeegi doonaan, oo afar boqol oo sannadood waa la dhibi doonaa;

¹³and He saith to Abram, `knowing — know that thy seed is a sojourner in a land not theirs, and they have served them, and they have afflicted them four hundred years,

¹⁴oo weliba quruuntaas ay u adeegi doonaan, xukun baan ku ridi doonaa; oo dabadeedna way ka soo bixi doonaan iyagoo xoolo badan wata.

¹⁴and the nation also whom they serve I judge, and after this they go out with great substance;

¹⁵Laakiinse adigu nabad baad ugu tegi doontaa awowayaashaa, oo waxaa lagu xabaali doonaa adigoo cimri dheer gaadhay.

¹⁵and thou — thou comest in unto thy fathers in peace; thou art buried in a good old age;

¹⁶Oo iyagu qarniga afraad halkan bay ku soo noqon doonaan: waayo, dembigii reer Amor weli ma dhamma.

¹⁶and the fourth generation doth turn back hither, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.`

¹⁷Oo waxay noqotay, markii qorraxdii dhacday oo ay ahayd gudcur, in girgire qiiqaya iyo dab ololaya ay dhex mareen cadadkii.

¹⁷And it cometh to pass — the sun hath gone in, and thick darkness hath been — and lo, a furnace of smoke, and a lamp of fire, which hath passed over between those pieces.

¹⁸Maalintaas Rabbigu Aabraam buu axdi la dhigtay, isagoo leh, Farcankaagaan siiyey dhulkan, oo laga bilaabo webiga Masar ilaa webiga weyn, oo ah webi Yufraad:

¹⁸In that day hath Jehovah made with Abram a covenant, saying, `To thy seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Phrat,

¹⁹reer Qeyn, iyo reer Qenas, iyo reer Qadmon,

¹⁹with the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,

²⁰iyo reer Xeed, iyo reer Feris, iyo reer Refaa'iim,iyo reer Amor, iyo reer Kancaan, iyo reer Girgaash, iyo reer Yebuus.

²⁰and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,

²¹iyo reer Amor, iyo reer Kancaan, iyo reer Girgaash, iyo reer Yebuus.

²¹and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.`
