1Dad badan waxay ku dadaaleen inay soo hagaajiyaan sheeko ku saabsan wixii dhexdayada lagu sameeyey oo la hubsaday,
1Seeing that many did take in hand to set in order a narration of the matters that have been fully assured among us,
2siday noo ogeysiiyeen kuwii tan iyo bilowgii arkay oo Ereygii u shaqeeyey.
2as they did deliver to us, who from the beginning became eye-witnesses, and officers of the Word, —
3Sidaa darteed anigana waxaa ila wanaagsanayd inaan, anigoo tan iyo bilowgii wax walba oo dhacay aad u gartay, si hagaagsan kuugu qoro, Te'ofilosow sharaf weyn lahow,
3it seemed good also to me, having followed from the first after all things exactly, to write to thee in order, most noble Theophilus,
4inaad garatid hubniintii hadalkii lagu baray.
4that thou mayest know the certainty of the things wherein thou wast instructed.
5Wakhtigii Herodos ahaa boqorkii Yahuudiya, waxaa jiray wadaad la odhan jiray Sakariyas, oo ka mid ahaa safkii Abiya; haweenaydiisuna waxay ka mid ahayd hablihii reer Haaruun, magaceedana waxaa la odhan jiray Elisabed.
5There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest, by name Zacharias, of the course of Abijah, and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elisabeth;
6Labadooduba xaq bay ku ahaayeen Ilaah hortiisa, oo qaynuunnadii iyo xukummadii Rabbiga ayay eedla'aan ku socon jireen.
6and they were both righteous before God, going on in all the commands and righteousnesses of the Lord blameless,
7Ilmo ma ay lahayn, waayo, Elisabed madhalays bay ahayd, oo labadooduba way da'weynaayeen.
7and they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and both were advanced in their days.
8Waxaa dhacay, intuu shuqulkii wadaadnimadii safkiisa dartiis samaynayay Ilaah hortiisa,
8And it came to pass, in his acting as priest, in the order of his course before God,
9sida caadadii wadaadnimadu u ahayd, in shuqulkiisu ahaa inuu foox shido goortuu macbudka Rabbiga galay.
9according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot was to make perfume, having gone into the sanctuary of the Lord,
10Saacaddii fooxa ayaa dadkii badnaa oo dhammu dibadda ku tukanayeen.
10and all the multitude of the people were praying without, at the hour of the perfume.
11Markaasaa waxaa isaga u soo muuqatay malaa'igtii Rabbiga oo taagnayd meeshii fooxa lagu shido midigteeda.
11And there appeared to him a messenger of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of the perfume,
12Goortuu Sakariyas arkay ayuu naxay, wuuna cabsaday.
12and Zacharias, having seen, was troubled, and fear fell on him;
13Laakiin malaa'igtii baa ku tidhi, Ha baqin, Sakariyasow, waayo, baryadaadii waa la maqlay; afadaada Elisabedna wiil bay kuu dhali doontaa, magiciisana waxaad u bixin doontaa Yooxanaa.
13and the messenger said unto him, `Fear not, Zacharias, for thy supplication was heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear a son to thee, and thou shalt call his name John,
14Waxaad heli doontaa farxad iyo rayrayn; dad badanna dhalashadiisa ayay ku farxi doonaan,
14and there shall be joy to thee, and gladness, and many at his birth shall joy,
15waayo, Rabbiga hortiisa nin weyn buu ku ahaan doonaa, mana cabbi doono khamri ama wax lagu sakhraamo. Waxaana xataa uurka hooyadiis kaga buuxsami doona Ruuxa Quduuskaa.
15for he shall be great before the Lord, and wine and strong drink he may not drink, and of the Holy Spirit he shall be full, even from his mother`s womb;
16Reer binu Israa'iil badidoodana ayuu Rabbiga Ilaahooda ah ku soo jeedin doonaa.
16and many of the sons of Israel he shall turn to the Lord their God,
17Isaguna wuxuu ku hor mari doonaa ruuxii iyo xooggii Eliyaas inuu aabbayaasha qalbiyadooda ku soo jeediyo carruurta, iyo inuu caasiyiinta ku soo celiyo xigmadda kuwa xaqa ah, inuu Rabbiga u diyaargareeyo dad hagaagsan.
17and he shall go before Him, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn hearts of fathers unto children, and disobedient ones to the wisdom of righteous ones, to make ready for the Lord, a people prepared.`
18Sakariyas wuxuu malaa'igtii ku yidhi, Sidee baan waxan u garan doonaa? Waayo, anigu oday baan ahay, afadayduna waa da'weynaatay.
18And Zacharias said unto the messenger, `Whereby shall I know this? for I am aged, and my wife is advanced in her days?`
19Malaa'igtii baa u jawaabtay oo ku tidhi, Anigu waxaan ahay Jibriil oo Ilaah hortiisa istaaga. Waxaa la ii soo diray inaan kula hadlo oo aan warkan wanaagsan kuu keeno.
19And the messenger answering said to him, `I am Gabriel, who have been standing near before God, and I was sent to speak unto thee, and to proclaim these good news to thee,
20Bal eeg, waad aamusnaan doontaa, mana hadli kari doonto, ilaa maalinta waxyaalahan dhici doonaan, waayo, waad rumaysan weyday hadalladayda wakhtigooda la oofin doono.
20and lo, thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak, till the day that these things shall come to pass, because thou didst not believe my words, that shall be fulfilled in their season.`
21Dadkuna waxay sugayeen Sakariyas, oo waxay la yaabeen siduu macbudka ugu raagay.
21And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and wondering at his tarrying in the sanctuary,
22Markuu soo baxay ayuu la hadli kari waayay, markaasay garteen inuu macbudka wax ku arkay. Kolkaasuu gacanta ugu sii tilmaamayay iyaga, isagoo sii carrab la'.
22and having come out, he was not able to speak to them, and they perceived that a vision he had seen in the sanctuary, and he was beckoning to them, and did remain dumb.
23Kolkii maalmihii shuqulkiisii wadaadnimadu dhammaadeen ayuu wuxuu tegey gurigiisii.
23And it came to pass, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he went away to his house,
24Maalmahaas dabadeed afadiisa Elisabed ayaa uuraysatay, oo shan bilood ayay isqarisay iyadoo leh.
24and after those days, his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying —
25Sidaasaa Rabbigu iigu sameeyey maalmihii uu i eegay inuu ceebtayda dadka dhexdooda iiga qaado.
25`Thus hath the Lord done to me, in days in which He looked upon [me], to take away my reproach among men.`
26Bishii lixaad Ilaah baa malaa'ig Jibriil u soo diray magaalada Galili oo Naasared la odhan jiray
26And in the sixth month was the messenger Gabriel sent by God, to a city of Galilee, the name of which [is] Nazareth,
27ilaa gabadh bikrad ah oo u doonanayd nin la odhan jiray Yuusuf oo dhashii Daa'uud ahaa; gabadhana waxaa la odhan jiray Maryan.
27to a virgin, betrothed to a man, whose name [is] Joseph, of the house of David, and the name of the virgin [is] Mary.
28Malaa'igtii baa u soo gashay, oo waxay ku tidhi, Nabad, adigoo nimcaysan, Rabbiga ayaa kula jira.
28And the messenger having come in unto her, said, `Hail, favoured one, the Lord [is] with thee; blessed [art] thou among women;`
29Markaasay hadalkii ka naxday, oo waxay isku tidhi, Maxay tahay salaantan?
29and she, having seen, was troubled at his word, and was reasoning of what kind this salutation may be.
30Malaa'igtii baa ku tidhi, Ha baqin, Maryamay, waayo, nimco ayaad Ilaah ka heshay.
30And the messenger said to her, `Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God;
31Bal eeg, waad uuraysan doontaa, oo wiil baad umuli doontaa, magiciisana waxaad u bixin doontaa Ciise.
31and lo, thou shalt conceive in the womb, and shalt bring forth a son, and call his name Jesus;
32Nin weyn buu ahaan doonaa, waxaana loogu yeedhi doonaa Wiilka Kan ugu sarreeya, Rabbiga Ilaaha ahuna wuxuu siin doonaa carshigii awowgiis Daa'uud.
32he shall be great, and Son of the Highest he shall be called, and the Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father,
33Weligiiba wuxuu boqor u ahaan doonaa dadkii Yacquub, boqornimadiisuna ma idlaan doonto.
33and he shall reign over the house of Jacob to the ages; and of his reign there shall be no end.`
34Kolkaasaa Maryan waxay malaa'igtii ku tidhi, Sidee baa waxanu ku noqon doonaan? Anigu ninna garan maayo.
34And Mary said unto the messenger, `How shall this be, seeing a husband I do not know?`
35Malaa'igtii waa u jawaabtay oo ku tidhi, Ruuxa Quduuska ah ayaa kugu soo degi doona, oo xooggii Kan ugu sarreeya ayaa hoosiis kuu noqon doona, sidaa darteed kan quduuska ah oo kaa dhalan doona waxaa loogu yeedhi doonaa Wiilka Ilaah.
35And the messenger answering said to her, `The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee, therefore also the holy-begotten thing shall be called Son of God;
36Bal eeg, ina-adeertaa Elisabedna wiil bay uuraysatay iyadoo da'weyn; oo tanuna waxay tii madhalays loogu yeedhi jiray u tahay bisheedii lixaad.
36and lo, Elisabeth, thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month to her who was called barren;
37Waayo, wax aan Ilaah kari doonin ma jiro.
37because nothing shall be impossible with God.`
38Maryan ayaa tidhi, Waa i kan, waxaan ahay addoontii Rabbiga. Sidaad u hadashay ha ii noqoto. Markaasaa malaa'igtii ka tagtay.
38And Mary said, `Lo, the maid-servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to thy saying,` and the messenger went away from her.
39Maalmahaas Maryan baa kacday, oo waxay dhaqso u tagtay dhulkii buuraha lahaa ilaa magaalo ka mid ah reer Yahuudah,
39And Mary having arisen in those days, went to the hill-country, with haste, to a city of Judea,
40oo waxay gashay gurigii Sakariyas, oo salaantay Elisabed.
40and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
41Oo waxaa dhacay goortii Elisabed salaantii Maryan maqashay in ilmihii uurkeeda ku boodbooday; Elisabedna waxaa ka buuxsamay Ruuxa Quduuska ah.
41And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe did leap in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
42Markaasay cod dheer ku qaylisay oo tidhi, Dumarka dhexdooda waad ku barakaysan tahay, oo midhaha uurkaaga waa barakaysan yahay.
42and spake out with a loud voice, and said, `Blessed [art] thou among women, and blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb;
43Xaggee waxanu iiga yimaadeen in Sayidkayga hooyadiis iigu timaado?
43and whence [is] this to me, that the mother of my Lord might come unto me?
44Bal eeg, markii codkii salaantaadu dhegahayga ku dhacay, ilmaha uurkayga ku jira ayaa farxad la boodbooday.
44for, lo, when the voice of thy salutation came to my ears, leap in gladness did the babe in my womb;
45Waxaa barakaysan tii rumaysatay; waayo, waxyaalihii xagga Rabbiga looga sheegay ayay dhici doonaan.
45and happy [is] she who did believe, for there shall be a completion to the things spoken to her from the Lord.`
46Maryanna waxay tidhi, Naftaydu Rabbigay weynaynaysaa,
46And Mary said, `My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47Ruuxayguna wuxuu ku reyreeyey Ilaaha Badbaadiyahayga ah.
47And my spirit was glad on God my Saviour,
48Waayo, wuxuu eegay hoosaysnimada addoontiisa, Bal eeg, tan iyo hadhow qarniyada oo dhammu waxay iigu yeedhi doonaan tan barakaysan.
48Because He looked on the lowliness of His maid-servant, For, lo, henceforth call me happy shall all the generations,
49Waayo, kan xoogga leh ayaa waxyaalo waaweyn ii sameeyey; Magiciisuna waa Quduus,
49For He who is mighty did to me great things, And holy [is] His name,
50Tan iyo ab ka ab naxariistiisu waxay gaadhaa Kuwa isaga ka cabsada.
50And His kindness [is] to generations of generations, To those fearing Him,
51Wuxuu xoog ku sameeyey gacantiisa, Oo kuwii fikirradii qalbigoodii ku kibray ayuu kala firdhiyey.
51He did powerfully with His arm, He scattered abroad the proud in the thought of their heart,
52Kuwii xoogga lahaa ayuu carshiyadoodii ka soo dejiyey Oo kuwii hooseeyey ayuu sarraysiiyey.
52He brought down the mighty from thrones, And He exalted the lowly,
53Kuwii gaajaysnaa ayuu wax wanaagsan ka dhergiyey, Kuwii hodanka ahaana iyagoo madhan ayuu diray.
53The hungry He did fill with good, And the rich He sent away empty,
54Midiidinkiisii Israa'iil ayuu caawiyey Inuu xusuusto inuu u naxariisto
54He received again Israel His servant, To remember kindness,
55Ibraahim iyo farcankiisii weligoodba (Siduu awowayaasheennii ula hadlay).
55As He spake unto our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed — to the age.`
56Maryan waxay iyada la joogtay abbaaraha saddex bilood, markaasay gurigeeda ku noqotay.
56And Mary remained with her about three months, and turned back to her house.
57Hadda Elisabed wakhtigii ay umuli lahayd ayaa la joogay, oo wiil bay dhashay.
57And to Elisabeth was the time fulfilled for her bringing forth, and she bare a son,
58Derisyadeedii iyo xigaalkeedii ayay maqleen siduu Rabbigu naxariistiisii ugu weyneeyey iyada, wayna la farxeen.
58and the neighbours and her kindred heard that the Lord was making His kindness great with her, and they were rejoicing with her.
59Waxaa dhacay inay maalintii siddeedaad u yimaadeen inay wiilkii gudaan, oo waxayna u bixiyeen magicii aabbihiis Sakariyas.
59And it came to pass, on the eighth day, they came to circumcise the child, and they were calling him by the name of his father, Zacharias,
60Kolkaasaa hooyadiis u jawaabtay oo ku tidhi, Sidaas ma aha; waxaase loogu yeedhi doonaa Yooxanaa.
60and his mother answering said, `No, but he shall be called John.`
61Waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Xigaalkaaga kuma jiro qof magacaas loo bixiyey.
61And they said unto her — `There is none among thy kindred who is called by this name,`
62Waxay aabbihiis gacan ugu tilmaameen oo weyddiiyeen wuxuu doonayay in loogu yeedho.
62and they were making signs to his father, what he would wish him to be called,
63Markaasuu wuxuu weyddiistay loox oo ku qoray, isagoo leh, Magiciisu waa Yooxanaa. Wayna wada yaabeen.
63and having asked for a tablet, he wrote, saying, `John is his name;` and they did all wonder;
64Kolkiiba afkiisii ayaa furmay, oo carrabkiisiina waa debcay, markaasuu hadlay oo Ilaah ammaanay.
64and his mouth was opened presently, and his tongue, and he was speaking, praising God.
65Dadkii agtooda joogay oo dhammu way wada cabsadeen, oo hadalladan oo dhan waa lagaga hadlayay dalkii buuraha lahaa oo Yahuudiya oo dhan.
65And fear came upon all those dwelling around them, and in all the hill-country of Judea were all these sayings spoken of,
66Kuwa waxyaalahaas maqlay oo dhan ayaa qalbigooda geliyey oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Haddaba ilmahanu muxuu noqon doonaa? Waayo, gacantii Rabbiga ayaa la jirtay isaga.
66and all who heard did lay them up in their hearts, saying, `What then shall this child be?` and the hand of the Lord was with him.
67Markaasaa aabbihiis Sakariyas waxaa ka buuxsamay Ruuxa Quduuska ah, waxna wuu sii sheegay isagoo leh,
67And Zacharias his father was filled with the Holy Spirit, and did prophesy, saying,
68Ha ammaanmo Rabbiga ah Ilaaha Israa'iil, Waayo, dadkiisii ayuu soo booqday oo furtay.
68`Blessed [is] the Lord, the God of Israel, Because He did look upon, And wrought redemption for His people,
69Badbaadiye xoog leh ayuu inoogu kiciyey Gurigii midiidinkiisa Daa'uud,
69And did raise an horn of salvation to us, In the house of David His servant,
70(Siduu afkii nebiyadiisii quduuska ahaa tan iyo bilowgii uga hadli jiray),
70As He spake by the mouth of His holy prophets, Which have been from the age;
71Inuu inaga badbaadiyo cadaawayaasheenna iyo gacanta kuwa ina neceb oo dhan,
71Salvation from our enemies, And out of the hand of all hating us,
72Iyo inuu u naxariisto awowayaasheen, Iyo inuu axdigiisii quduuska ahaa xusuusto,
72To do kindness with our fathers, And to be mindful of His holy covenant,
73Oo ahaa dhaartii uu awoweheennii Ibraahim ugu dhaartay,
73An oath that He sware to Abraham our father,
74Inuu ina siiyo innagoo cadaawayaasheenna gacmahooda laynaga bixiyey Inaynu baqdinla'aan isaga ugu hawshoonno
74To give to us, without fear, Out of the hand of our enemies having been delivered,
75Quduusnimada iyo xaqnimada isaga hortiisa cimrigeenna oo dhan.
75To serve Him, in holiness and righteousness Before Him, all the days of our life.
76Adiguna, ilma yahow, waxaa laguugu yeedhi doonaa nebigii Kan ugu sarreeya, Waayo, waxaad hor mari doontaa Rabbiga hortiisa inaad jidadkiisa diyaargaraysid;
76And thou, child, Prophet of the Highest Shalt thou be called; For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord, To prepare His ways.
77Oo aad dadkiisa ogeysiisid badbaadada Ee dembidhaafkooda ah,
77To give knowledge of salvation to His people In remission of their sins,
78Ee laga hela naxariista weyn ee Ilaaheenna, Tan qorraxda soo baxda xagga sare inaga soo booqan doonta,
78Through the tender mercies of our God, In which the rising from on high did look upon us,
79Inay iftiimiso kuwa fadhiya gudcurka iyo hooskii dhimashada, Iyo inay cagaheenna jidkii nabadda ku kaxayso,Wiilkuna waa koray oo ruuxuu ka xoogoobay, wuxuuna joogay cidlada ilaa maalintii uu Israa'iil istusi lahaa.
79To give light to those sitting in darkness and death-shade, To guide our feet to a way of peace.`
80Wiilkuna waa koray oo ruuxuu ka xoogoobay, wuxuuna joogay cidlada ilaa maalintii uu Israa'iil istusi lahaa.
80And the child grew, and was strengthened in spirit, and he was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
