Exodus

1

1Haddaba waa kuwan magacyadii wiilashii Israa'iil, oo Masar yimid; nin walba iyo reerkiisiiba waxay la yimaadeen Yacquub.
1Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt (every man and his household came with Jacob):
2Ruubeen, Simecoon, Laawi iyo Yahuudah,
2Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
3Isaakaar, Sebulun, iyo Benyaamiin,
3Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,
4Daan iyo Naftaali, iyo Gaad iyo Aasheer.
4Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.
5Oo dadkii ka soo go'ay xanjaadkii Yacquub oo dhammu waxay ahaayeen toddobaatan qof; Yuusufna Masar buu markii hore joogay.
5All the souls who came out of Jacob’s body were seventy souls, and Joseph was in Egypt already.
6Yuusufna, iyo walaalihiis, iyo farcankaas oo dhanba way wada dhinteen.
6Joseph died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.
7Oo reer binu Israa'iilna waa bateen, oo aad bay u kordheen, wayna tarmeen, oo aad iyo aad u xoogaysteen; dhulkiina way buuxiyeen.
7The children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.
8Haddaba Masar waxaa ka kacay boqor cusub oo aan Yuusuf aqoonin.
8Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who didn’t know Joseph.
9Markaasuu wuxuu dadkiisii ku yidhi, Bal eega, dadkii reer binu Israa'iil waa inaga badan yihiin, wayna inaga xoog weyn yihiin.
9He said to his people, “Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.
10Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies, and fight against us, and escape out of the land.”
11Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed ayay niman madax uga dhigeen si ay culaabtooda ugu dhibaan, oo waxay Fircoon u dhiseen magaalooyin wax lagu kaydiyo oo la yidhaahdo Fitom iyo Racmeses.
11Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. They built storage cities for Pharaoh: Pithom and Raamses.
12Laakiinse in kastoo ay aad u dhibeen, haddana aad bay u sii tarmeen, oo aad bay u faafeen. Oo reer binu Israa'iil aawadood ayay la murugaysnaayeen.
12But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. They were grieved because of the children of Israel.
13Oo Masriyiintiina waxay reer binu Israa'iil ku qasbeen inay qaxar ku adeegaan,
13The Egyptians ruthlessly made the children of Israel serve,
14oo waxay naftoodii ku dhibeen hawl aad u adag, oo ahayd dhoobo la qaso, iyo leben, iyo hawl kasta oo beeraha laga qabto, oo hawl kastoo ay ku qasbeen inay qabtaanba way ku qaxri jireen.
14and they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.
15Markaasaa boqorkii Masar wuxuu la hadlay umulisooyinkii Cibraaniyadaha ahaa, oo middood magaceeda Shifraah la odhan jiray, tan kale magaceedana Fuwah la odhan jiray,
15The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah,
16oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Markii aad umulinaysaan naagaha Cibraaniyadaha, oo aad aragtaan iyagoo gambarka umusha fadhiya, haddii uu wiil yahay, waa inaad dishaan, haddayse gabadh tahay, ha iska noolaato.
16and he said, “When you perform the duty of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them on the birth stool; if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”
17Laakiinse umulisooyinkii Ilaah bay ka cabsadeen, mana ay samayn wixii boqorkii Masar ku amray, ee way badbaadiyeen carruurtii labka ahayd.
17But the midwives feared God, and didn’t do what the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the baby boys alive.
18Markaasaa boqorkii Masar u yeedhay umulisooyinkii, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Maxaad waxan u samayseen, oo aad u badbaadiseen carruurtii labka ahayd?
18The king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and have saved the boys alive?”
19Markaasaa umulisooyinkii waxay Fircoon ku yidhaahdeen, Maxaa yeelay, naagaha Cibraaniyaduhu la mid ma aha naagaha Masriga, oo waa ka dhaqso badan yihiin, oo intii aan umulisooyinku u iman bay umulaan.
19The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women aren’t like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous, and give birth before the midwife comes to them.”
20Haddaba Ilaah si wanaagsan buu u sameeyey umulisooyinkii, dadkiina waa tarmay, oo aad bay u xoogaysteen.
20God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied, and grew very mighty.
21Oo waxay noqotay, in Ilaah umulisooyinkii reero u yeelay, maxaa yeelay, Ilaah bay ka cabsadeen.Markaasaa Fircoon wuxuu dadkiisii ku amray, oo ku yidhi, Wiil kasta oo dhasha waa inaad webiga ku tuurtaan, laakiinse gabadh kasta waa inaad badbaadisaan.
21It happened, because the midwives feared God, that he gave them families.
22Markaasaa Fircoon wuxuu dadkiisii ku amray, oo ku yidhi, Wiil kasta oo dhasha waa inaad webiga ku tuurtaan, laakiinse gabadh kasta waa inaad badbaadisaan.
22Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “You shall cast every son who is born into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.”
