Matthew

12

1 Alwaato din ra, asibti* zaari fo hane, Yesu goono ga gana farey ra. A talibey mo go ga maa haray. Kal i soobay ka jeeniyaŋ ceeri ka kaama.
1At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
2 Amma waato kaŋ Farisi* fonda borey di woodin, i ne a se: «Guna haŋ kaŋ ni talibey goono ga te kaŋ si halal* i ma te asibti zaari ra.»
2But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”
3 Amma a ne i se: «Araŋ mana caw ka di haŋ kaŋ Dawda te no, waato kaŋ nga nda nga jama maa haray?
3But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;
4 A furo Irikoy* fuwo ra ka buuru* jisante ŋwa, kaŋ a mana halal a se a ma ŋwa, wala a banda borey mo se, kala day alfagey hinne se?
4 how he entered into God’s house, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Wala araŋ mana caw asariya ra no, mate kaŋ cine alfagey ga asibti zaaro kaynandi nd'a Irikoy windo ra, i sinda taali mo?
5 Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?
6 Amma ay ga ne araŋ se, wo kaŋ ga bisa Irikoy windo beeray go ne.
6 But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
7 Amma d'araŋ na woone feerijo bay: ‹Ay wo, suuji no ay ga ba, manti sargay bo› -- doŋ araŋ si taali dake boro kaŋ sinda taali boŋ.
7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 Amma Boro Izo ya asibti zaari Koyo no.»
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 Kal a tun noodin ka furo i diina marga fuwo ra.
9He departed there, and went into their synagogue.
10 Boro fo binde go noodin kaŋ kamba suugu. I na Yesu hã mo ka ne: «A ga halal no asibti zaari ra i ma boro no baani?» (zama i ma du k'a kalima se).
10And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” that they might accuse him.
11 Amma a ne i se: «Boro woofo no araŋ ra, d'a gonda feeji fo, feejo mo kaŋ guusu ra, asibti hane a s'a di k'a candi ka kaa taray?
11He said to them, “What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it, and lift it out?
12 Marge cine no boro bisa feeji darza! Yaadin mo no a ga halal boro ma gomni te asibti hane.»
12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”
13 Gaa no a ne bora se: «Ma ni kamba salle.» A na nga kamba salle mo, kal a du baani sanda afa cine.
13Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.
14 Amma Farisi* fonda borey fatta ka saaware a boŋ, mate kaŋ ngey ga te k'a halaci.
14But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
15 Amma kaŋ Yesu faham da woodin, a na nga gaa candi ka fay da noodin. Boro boobo n'a gana, a na ikulu no baani mo.
15Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,
16 A n'i lordi mo ka ne i ma s'a bangandi taray
16and commanded them that they should not make him known:
17 zama i ma sanno kaŋ i ci annabi Isaya do toonandi, kaŋ ne:
17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
18 «Guna, ay tamo neeya kaŋ ay suuban, kaŋ ay ga ba, Kaŋ ay fundo ga maa a kaani gumo. Ay g'ay Biya zumandi a boŋ, A ga cimi ciiti fe dumi cindey se.
18“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 A si gurjay, a si nga jinda sambu mo, Boro kulu si maa a jinda fondey gaa.
19He will not strive, nor shout; neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
20 A si kwaar'ize ceera pati ka kaa, Fitilla kaŋ maan buuyaŋ mo, a s'a wi, Hal a ma daŋ cimi ciito ma zaama.
20He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.
21 A maa ra mo no dumi cindey ga beeje.»
21In his name, the nations will hope.”
22 Gaa no i kand'a se follokom fo kaŋ dana, a beebe mo. Yesu n'a no baani, hala beeba salaŋ, a moy mo fiti, a go ga di.
22Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
23 Borey marga mo dambara ka ne: «Boro wo, manti Dawda izo no?»
23All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”
24 Amma waato kaŋ Farisi* fonda borey maa woodin, i ne: «Boro wo, Baalzabula* (kaŋ ga ti follayey koyo) dabaro no Yesu goono ga follayyaŋ gaaray d'a.»
24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
25 Amma kaŋ Yesu g'i miiley bay, a ne i se: «Koytaray kulu kaŋ fay ihinka ka gaaba nda care, woodin ga say. Kwaara kulu mo, wala windi, kaŋ fay ihinka ka care wangu ga kaŋ.
25Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
26 Da Saytan ga Saytan gaaray, yaadin gaa a fay ihinka nooya ka gaaba nda nga boŋ. Mate no a koytara ga te ka kay?
26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
27 D'ay goono ga follayey gaaray da Baalzabula dabaro, araŋ izey binde, may dabari no i goono ga follayey gaaray d'a? Woodin sabbay se, ngey wo ga bara araŋ se ciitikoyaŋ.
27 If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
28 Amma hala day Irikoy Biya* dabari no ay goono ga follayey gaaray d'a, yaadin gaa Irikoy koytara kaa araŋ do nooya.
28 But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 Wala mate no boro ga te ka furo gaabikooni fu ra k'a jinay ku, da manti bora jin ka gaabikoono haw no jina? Waato din gaa no a ga hin k'a fuwo jinayey ku.
29 Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
30 Boro kaŋ si ay banda ga gaaba nd'ay nooya. Boro kaŋ si margu ay banda mo, a ga say-say.
30 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.
31 Woodin sabbay se ay ga ne araŋ se, zunubi kulu da Irikoy alaasiray kulu, i ga borey yaafa nd'ey, amma Biya _Hanno|_* alaasiray i si borey yaafa nd'a.
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
32 Boro kulu mo kaŋ na sanni yaamo te Boro Izo boŋ, i g'a yaafa a se. Amma bora kaŋ ga sanni yaamo te Biya Hanna boŋ, i s'a yaafa nd'a zamana woone ra wala baa wo kaŋ ga kaa ra.
32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.
33 D'i ne tuuri-nyaŋo ihanno no, a izey mo ihanno yaŋ no. Wala i ma ne tuuri-nyaŋo ilaalo no, a izey mo ilaalo yaŋ no. Zama izey do no i ga tuuri-nya bay.
33 “Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
34 Araŋ wo, gazama izey, mate no araŋ ga te ka hari hanno ci, araŋ kaŋ ga ti boro laaley? Zama haŋ kaŋ na bine to, me ga ci.
34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
35 Boro hanno nga jisiri hanna ra no a ga hari hanno yaŋ kaa taray. Boro laalo mo nga jisiri laalo ra no a ga hari laalo yaŋ kaa taray.
35 The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.
36 Amma ay ga ne araŋ se, sanni yaamo kulu kaŋ borey ga salaŋ, ciiti zaaro ra i ga ye k'i lasaabu.
36 I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
37 Zama ni sanno do no i ga ni adilandi*, ni sanno do mo no i ga ni zeeri.»
37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
38 Alwaato din no asariya dondonandiko fooyaŋ da Farisi fonda borey tu ka ne a se: «Alfa, iri ga ba iri ma di alaama fo ni do.»
38Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
39 Amma a tu ka ne i se: «Zamana laalo da zina-teero wo borey goono ga alaama fo ceeci. I s'i no alaama kulu kala day annabi Yonana* alaama hinne.
39But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 Zama mate kaŋ cine Yonana goro cin hinza da zaari hinza teeku ham beero gunda ra, yaadin cine no Boro Izo mo ga goro cin hinza da zaari hinza laabo bina ra.
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 Ninawiya* borey ga tun suba-aliciyoma ciito ra zamana wo borey game ra k'i ciiti k'i zeeri mo, zama ngey wo tuubi waato kaŋ Yonana waazu. Guna mo, boro kaŋ bisa Yonana beeray neeya.
41 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
42 Dandi kambe wayboro bonkoono ga tun suba-aliciyoma ciito ra zamana wo borey game ra, k'i zeeri. Zama za ndunnya me no a fun ka kaa ka maa Suleymanu laakal sanney. Guna mo, nga kaŋ bisa Suleymanu beeray go ne.
42 The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.
43 Amma waati kaŋ follay fun boro banda, a ga dira ka gana naŋ kaŋ hari si, ka ceeci naŋ kaŋ ga fulanzam, a si du mo.
43 But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.
44 Gaa no, a ga ne: ‹Ay ga ye ay fu zeena ra, naŋ kaŋ ay fun.› Waato kaŋ a to noodin a ma gar boro kulu si fuwo ra, i n'a haabu k'a taalam.
44 Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came out,’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
45 Gaa no a ga koy ka kande follay iyye fooyaŋ nga banda kaŋ yaŋ ga futu ka bisa nga bumbo, i ma furo ka goro noodin. Bora din kokor banda gora ga laala ka jaase ijina. Yaadin mo no a ga ciya zamana laalo wo borey se.»
45 Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”
46 A goono ga salaŋ marga se binde, kal a nya d'a nya izey kaa. I go ga kay taray, i goono ga ceeci ngey ma salaŋ d'a.
46While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
47 Kala boro fo ne a se: «Guna, ni nya da ni nya izey neeya taray, i ga ba ngey ma salaŋ da nin.»
47One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
48 Amma a tu bora se kaŋ salaŋ d'a, ka ne: «May no ga ti ay nya? Wala may no ga ti ay nya izey mo?»
48But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
49 A na nga kambe salle nga talibey do haray ka ne: «Ay nya d'ay nya izey, ngey neeya.
49He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
50 Zama borey kulu kaŋ g'ay Baabo kaŋ go beena ra miila te, ngey no ga ti ay kayne alborey, d'ay waymey, d'ay nya.»
50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
