Matthew

16

1 Farisi* fonda borey da Sadusi* fonda borey kaa. I goono ga Yesu si k'a ŋwaaray a ma beene alaama fo cabe ngey se.
1The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 Amma a tu ka ne i se: «Waato kaŋ wiciri kambu to araŋ ga ne: ‹Hari si kaa, zama beena ga ciray-ciray.›
2But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3 Susubay mo araŋ ga ne: ‹Hunkuna beena ga hirri, zama a ga ciray-ciray, a ga ziibi.› To. Araŋ ga hin ka beena baaru fayanka, amma araŋ si hin ka alwaatey alaamey fayanka.
3 In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!
4 Zamana laalo da zina-teero borey wo goono ga alaama fo ceeci. I s'i no alaama kulu kala day Yonana* alaama hinne.» Kal a dira k'i naŋ.
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them, and departed.
5 Waato kaŋ talibey kaa ya-haray daŋanta, i dinya ka kande buuru.
5The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
6 Yesu ne i se: «Araŋ ma haggoy da Farisi fonda borey da Sadusi fonda borey dalbuwo.»
6Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7 Talibey soobay ka care miisi ka ne: «Zama iri dinya ka kande buuru se no, wala?»
7They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”
8 Yesu mo kaŋ faham da woodin ne i se: «Ya araŋ cimbeeri kayna koyey, ifo se no araŋ goono ga lasaabu woone te, way, zama araŋ sinda buuru?
8Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, ‘because you have brought no bread?’
9 Day, hala hõ araŋ mana faham jina, wala? Araŋ si fongu buuru kunkuni guwa din boro zambar gu wano? Cilla kayna marge no araŋ du ka sambu?
9 Don’t you yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
10 Da mo koyne, buuru kunkuni iyye boro zambar taaci wane? Nga mo, cilla beeri marge no araŋ du ka sambu?
10 Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
11 Ifo se no araŋ mana faham kaŋ manti buuru sanni no ay goono ga te araŋ se? Amma araŋ ma te laakal nda Farisi fonda borey da Sadusi fonda borey dalbuwo!»
11 How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
12 Waato din gaa no i faham d'a sanno, manti buuru dalbu* sanni no a goono ga te ngey se, ka ne i ma laakal d'a, amma Farisi fonda borey da Sadusi fonda borey dondonandiyaŋo gaa no a go.
12Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 Waato kaŋ Yesu kaa Kaysariya, Filibi laabo ra, a na nga talibey hã ka ne: «Borey goono ga ne Boro Izo ya may no?»
13Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 I tu ka ne: «Afooyaŋ goono ga ne Yohanna baptisma* teekwa no, afooyaŋ mo ga ne Iliya no, afooyaŋ mo ga ne Irimiya no, wala doŋ annabey ra afo no.»
14They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
15 A ne i se: «Araŋ binde, araŋ ga ne ay ya may no?»
15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Siman Bitros tu ka ne: «Ni ya Almasihu no, Irikoy fundikoono Izo.»
16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Yesu tu ka ne a se: «Ni ya albarkante no, Siman Yonana ize, zama Adam-ize mana woone bangandi ni se, amma ay Baabo kaŋ go beena ra no.
17Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
18 Ay ga ne ni se koyne: nin no Bitros. Tondo wo boŋ no ay g'ay marga suubananta cina, wo kaŋ Alaahara hino mo si te a boŋ zaama.
18 I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
19 Ay ga beene koytara saaf'izey no ni se. Lordi kulu kaŋ ni ga haw ndunnya ra, i jin k'a haw beena ra no. Lordi kulu kaŋ ni ga feeri ne ndunnya ra, i jin k'a feeri beena ra mo.»
19 I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
20 Alwaato din no a na nga talibey gongormandi i ma si nga bangandi boro kulu se, kaŋ nga ya Almasihu no.
20Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
21 Za alwaato din no Yesu sintin ka cabe nga talibey se kaŋ tilas no nga ma koy Urusalima, ka taabi boobo haŋ arkusey* da alfaga beerey da asariya dondonandikoy kambey ra, i m'a wi. Zaari hinzanta hane mo a ma tun.
21From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
22 Amma Bitros n'a kaa waani ka sintin ka deen'a gaa: «Jam! Irikoy ma boriyandi, ya Rabbi! Woodin si du nin abada!»
22Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”
23 Amma Yesu bare ka ne Bitros se: «Ma ye ka fun ay banda, nin Saytan* wo! Ni ya hartayaŋ hari no ay se, zama ni si Irikoy hayey saal, kala borey waney.»
23But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”
24 Gaa no Yesu ne nga talibey se: «Da boro fo ga baa nga ma kaa ay banda, kal a ma nga boŋ ze jina ka nga kanjiyaŋ bundo sambu k'ay gana.
24Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 Zama boro kulu kaŋ ga miila nga ma nga fundo faaba, a fundo ga daray. Amma boro kulu kaŋ ga nga fundo nooyandi ay wo sabbay se ga du a.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
26 Zama riiba woofo no boro ga du baa day a du ndunnya kulu, amma a fundo ma daray? Ifo no mo boro ga no kaŋ ga hin ka nga fundo fansa?
26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
27 Zama Boro Izo ga kaa nga Baabo darza ra, nga nda nga malaykey. Alwaato din no a ga boro kulu bana nga goyo boŋ.
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
28 Haciika, ay ga ne araŋ se, boro fooyaŋ goono ga kay ne kaŋ yaŋ si buuyaŋ taba baa kayna kala nd'i di Boro Izo goono ga kaa nga koytara ra.»
28 Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”
