¹Ingen som är snöpt, vare sig genom krossning eller genom stympning, skall komma in i HERRENS församling.

¹He that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

²Ingen som är född i äktenskapsbrott eller blodskam skall komma in i HERRENS församling; icke ens den som i tionde led är avkomling av en sådan skall komma in i HERRENS församling.

²A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

³Ingen ammonit eller moabit skall komma in i HERRENS församling; icke ens den som i tionde led är avkomling av en sådan skall någonsin komma in i HERRENS församling --

³An Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;

⁴detta därför att de icke kommo eder till mötes med mat och dryck på vägen, när I drogen ut ur Egypten, och därför att han mot dig lejde, Bileam, Beors son, från Petor i Aram-Naharaim, för att denne skulle förbanna dig.

⁴because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

⁵Men HERREN, din Gud, ville icke höra på Bileam, utan HERREN, din Gud, förvandlade förbannelsen till välsignelse för dig, ty HERREN, din Gud, älskade dig.

⁵But Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.

⁶Du skall aldrig, i all din tid, fråga efter deras välfärd och lycka.

⁶Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

⁷Edoméen skall däremot icke för dig vara en styggelse, ty han är din broder. Egyptiern skall icke heller för dig vara en styggelse, ty i hans land har du bott såsom främling.

⁷Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.

⁸Barn som födas av dessa i tredje led må komma in i HERRENS församling.

⁸Children that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.

⁹När du drager ut mot dina fiender och slår läger, skall du taga, dig till vara för allt vad orent är.

⁹When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.

¹⁰Om bland dig finnes någon som icke är ren, därigenom att något har hänt honom under natten, så skall han gå ut till något ställe utanför lägret; han får icke komma in i lägret.

¹⁰If there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;

¹¹Och mot aftonen skall han bada sig i vatten, och när solen går ned, får han gå in i lägret. --

¹¹and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.

¹²Du skall hava en särskild plats utanför lägret, dit du kan gå avsides.

¹²Thou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.

¹³Och du skall jämte annat som du bär hava en pinne, och när du vill sätta dig därute, skall du med den gräva en grop och sedan åter täcka över din uttömning.

¹³And thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.

¹⁴Ty HERREN, din Gud, vandrar fram i ditt läger för att hjälpa dig och giva dina fiender i ditt våld; därför skall ditt läger vara heligt, så att han icke hos dig ser något som väcker hans leda och fördenskull vänder sig bort ifrån dig.

¹⁴For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

¹⁵En träl som har flytt till dig från sin herre skall du icke utlämna till hans herre.

¹⁵Thou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:

¹⁶Han skall få stanna hos dig, mitt ibland dig, på det ställe som han utväljer inom någon av dina städer, var han finner för gott; och du skall icke förtrycka honom.

¹⁶he shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.

¹⁷Ingen tempeltärna skall finnas bland Israels döttrar, och ingen tempelbolare bland Israels söner.

¹⁷There shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.

¹⁸Du skall icke bära skökolön och hundpenningar in i HERRENS, din Guds, hus, till gäldande av något löfte; ty det ena som det andra är en styggelse för HERREN, din Gud.

¹⁸Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

¹⁹Du skall icke taga ränta av din broder, varken på penningar eller på livsmedel eller på något annat varpå ränta kan tagas.

¹⁹Thou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:

²⁰Av utlänningen må du taga ränta, men icke av din broder, på det att HERREN, din Gud, i allt vad du företager dig, må välsigna dig i det land dit du nu kommer, för att taga det i besittning.

²⁰of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

²¹Om du har gjort ett löfte åt HERREN, din Gud, skall du icke dröja att infria det, ty HERREN, din Gud, skall förvisso utkräva det av dig, och synd kommer att vila på dig.

²¹When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.

²²Men om du underlåter att göra något löfte, så kommer icke därigenom synd att vila på dig.

²²But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

²³Vad dina läppar hava talat skall du hålla och göra, i enlighet med det frivilliga löfte du har givit HERREN, din Gud, och uttalat med din mun.

²³What is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.

²⁴När du kommer in i din nästas vingård, får du där äta druvor, så mycket dig lyster, till dess du bliver mätt, men du får icke lägga något i ditt kärl.

²⁴When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

²⁵När du kommer in på din nästas sädesfält, får du plocka ax med din hand, men med skära får du icke komma vid din nästas säd.

²⁵When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.
