¹Jag har HERREN kär, ty han hör min röst och mina böner.

¹I love Jehovah, for he hath heard my voice [and] my supplications;

²Ja, han har böjt sitt öra till mig; i hela mitt liv skall jag åkalla honom.

²For he hath inclined his ear unto me, and I will call upon him during [all] my days.

³Dödens band omvärvde mig, och dödsrikets ångest grep mig; jag kom i nöd och bedrövelse.

³The bands of death encompassed me, and the anguish of Sheol took hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow:

⁴Men jag åkallade HERRENS namn: »Ack HERRE, rädda min själ.»

⁴Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: I beseech thee, Jehovah, deliver my soul.

⁵HERREN är nådig och rättfärdig, vår Gud är barmhärtig.

⁵Gracious is Jehovah and righteous; and our God is merciful.

⁶HERREN bevarar de enfaldiga; jag var i elände, och han frälste mig.

⁶Jehovah keepeth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me.

⁷Vänd nu åter till din ro, min själ, ty HERREN har gjort väl mot dig.

⁷Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

⁸Ja, du har räddat min själ från döden, mitt öga från tårar, min fot ifrån fall;

⁸For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

⁹jag skall få vandra inför HERREN i de levandes land.

⁹I will walk before Jehovah in the land of the living.

¹⁰Jag tror, ty därför talar jag, jag som var storligen plågad,

¹⁰I believed, therefore have I spoken. As for me, I was greatly afflicted.

¹¹jag som måste säga i min ångest: »Alla människor äro lögnaktiga.»

¹¹I said in my haste, All men are liars.

¹²Huru skall jag vedergälla HERREN alla hans välgärningar mot mig?

¹²What shall I render unto Jehovah, [for] all his benefits toward me?

¹³Jag vill taga frälsningens bägare och åkalla HERRENS namn.

¹³I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of Jehovah.

¹⁴Jag vill infria åt HERREN mina löften, ja, i hela hans folks åsyn.

¹⁴I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people.

¹⁵Dyrt aktad i HERRENS ögon är hans frommas död.

¹⁵Precious in the sight of Jehovah is the death of his saints.

¹⁶Ack HERRE, jag är ju din tjänare, jag är din tjänare, din tjänarinnas son; du har lossat mina band.

¹⁶Yea, Jehovah! for I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

¹⁷Dig vill jag offra lovets offer, och HERRENS namn vill jag åkalla.

¹⁷I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of Jehovah.

¹⁸Jag vill infria åt HERREN mina löften, ja, i hela hans folks åsyn,

¹⁸I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people,

¹⁹i gårdarna till HERRENS hus, mitt i dig, Jerusalem. Halleluja!

¹⁹In the courts of Jehovah's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
