¹Varför larma hedningarna och tänka folken fåfänglighet?

¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

²Jordens konungar resa sig upp, och furstarna rådslå med varandra, mot HERREN och hans smorde:

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, The word “Anointed” is the same as the word for “Messiah” or “Christ” saying,

³»Låt oss slita sönder deras bojor och kasta deras band ifrån oss.»

³“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

⁴Han som bor i himmelen ler, HERREN bespottar dem.

⁴He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” will have them in derision.

⁵Då talar han till dem i sin vrede, och i sin förgrymmelse förskräcker han dem:

⁵Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

⁶»Jag själv har insatt min konung på Sion, mitt heliga berg.»

⁷Jag vill förtälja om vad beslutet är; HERREN sade till mig: »Du är min son, jag har i dag fött dig.

⁷I will tell of the decree. Yahweh said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.

⁸Begär av mig, så skall jag giva dig hedningarna till arvedel och jordens ändar till egendom.

⁸Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

⁹Du skall sönderslå dem med järnspira, såsom lerkärl skall du krossa dem.»

⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

¹⁰Så kommen nu till förstånd, I konungar; låten varna eder, I domare på jorden.

¹⁰Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹¹Tjänen HERREN med fruktan, och fröjden eder med bävan.

¹¹Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹²Hyllen sonen, så att han icke vredgas och I förgåns på eder väg; ty snart kunde hans vrede upptändas. Saliga äro alla de som taga sin tillflykt till honom.

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son or, Kiss the son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
