¹Baada ya Sabato, karibu na mapambazuko ya siku ile ya Jumapili, Maria Magdalene na yule Maria mwingine walikwenda kutazama lile kaburi.

¹Now late on the sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

²Ghafla kutatokea tetemeko kubwa la nchi; malaika wa Bwana alishuka kutoka mbinguni, akalivingirisha lile jiwe, akalikalia.

²And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.

³Alionekana kama umeme na mavazi yake yalikuwa meupe kama theluji.

³His appearance was as lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

⁴Walinzi wa lile kaburi wakatetemeka kwa hofu kubwa, hata wakawa kama wamekufa.

⁴and for fear of him the watchers did quake, and became as dead men.

⁵Lakini yule malaika akawaambia wale wanawake, "Ninyi msiogope! Najua kwamba mnamtafuta Yesu aliyesulubiwa.

⁵And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye; for I know that ye seek Jesus, who hath been crucified.

⁶Hayupo hapa maana amefufuka kama alivyosema. Njoni mkaone mahali alipokuwa amelala.

⁶He is not here; for he is risen, even as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

⁷Basi, nendeni upesi mkawaambie wanafunzi wake kwamba amefufuka kutoka wafu, na sasa anawatangulieni kule Galilaya; huko mtamwona. Haya, mimi nimekwisha waambieni."

⁷And go quickly, and tell his disciples, He is risen from the dead; and lo, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

⁸Wakiwa wenye hofu na furaha kubwa, hao wanawake walitoka upesi kaburini, wakakimbia kwenda kuwaambia wanafunzi wake.

⁸And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

⁹Mara, Yesu akakutana nao, akawasalimu: "Salamu." Hao wanawake wakamwendea, wakapiga magoti mbele yake, wakashika miguu yake.

⁹And behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

¹⁰Kisha Yesu akawaambia, "Msiogope! Nendeni mkawaambie ndugu zangu waende Galilaya, na huko wataniona."

¹⁰Then saith Jesus unto them, Fear not: go tell my brethren that they depart into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

¹¹Wale wanawake walipokuwa wanakwenda zao, baadhi ya walinzi wa lile kaburi walikwenda mjini kutoa taarifa kwa makuhani wakuu juu ya mambo yote yaliyotukia.

¹¹Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city, and told unto the chief priests all the things that were come to pass.

¹²Basi, wakakutana pamoja na wazee, na baada ya kushauriana, wakawapa wale askari kiasi kikubwa cha fedha

¹²And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave much money unto the soldiers,

¹³wakisema, "Ninyi mtasema hivi: Wanafunzi wake walikuja usiku, wakamwiba sisi tukiwa tumelala.

¹³saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

¹⁴Na kama mkuu wa mkoa akijua jambo hili, sisi tutasema naye na kuhakikisha kuwa ninyi hamtapata matatizo."

¹⁴And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and rid you of care.

¹⁵Wale walinzi wakazichukua zile fedha, wakafanya kama walivyofundishwa. Habari hiyo imeenea kati ya Wayahudi mpaka leo.

¹⁵So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying was spread abroad among the Jews, [and continueth] until this day.

¹⁶Wale wanafunzi kumi na mmoja walikwenda Galilaya kwenye ule mlima aliowaagiza Yesu.

¹⁶But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

¹⁷Walipomwona, wakamwabudu, ingawa wengine walikuwa na mashaka.

¹⁷And when they saw him, they worshipped [him]; but some doubted.

¹⁸Yesu akaja karibu, akawaambia, "Nimepewa mamlaka yote mbinguni na duniani.

¹⁸And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁹Nendeni basi, mkawafanye watu wa mataifa yote wawe wanafunzi wangu; mkiwabatiza kwa jina la Baba, na la Mwana, na la Roho Mtakatifu.

¹⁹Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:

²⁰Wafundisheni kushika maagizo yote niliyowapeni. Nami nipo pamoja nanyi siku zote; naam, mpaka mwisho wa nyakati."

²⁰teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
