1சிநெயாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அம்ராப்பேலும், ஏலாசாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அரியோகும், ஏலாமின் ராஜாவாகிய கெதர்லா கோமேரும், ஜாதிகளின் ராஜாவாகிய திதியாலும் இருந்த நாட்களில்;
1It happened in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim,
2அவர்கள் சோதோமின் ராஜாவாகிய பேராவோடும், கொமோராவின் ராஜாவாகிய பிர்சாவோடும், அத்மாவின் ராஜாவாகிய சிநெயாவோடும், செபோயீமின் ராஜாவாகிய செமேபரோடும், சோவார் என்னும் பேலாவின் ராஜாவோடும் யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
2that they made war with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar).
3இவர்களெல்லாரும் உப்புக்கடலாகிய சித்தீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே கூடினார்கள்.
3All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (the same is the Salt Sea).
4இவர்கள் பன்னிரண்டு வருஷம் கெதர்லாகோமேரைச் சேவித்து, பதின்மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலே கலகம் பண்ணினார்கள்.
4Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year, they rebelled.
5பதினாலாம் வருஷத்திலே கெதர்லாகோமேரும், அவனோடே கூடியிருந்த ராஜாக்களும் வந்து, அஸ்தரோத்கர்னாயீமிலே இருந்த ரெப்பாயீமியரையும், காமிலே இருந்த சூசிமியரையும், சாவேகீரியத்தாயீமிலே இருந்த ஏமியரையும்,
5In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings who were with him, and struck the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
6சேயீர் மலைகளில் இருந்த ஓரியரையும், வனாந்தரத்துக்கு அருகான எல்பாரான்மட்டும் முறியடித்து,
6and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to Elparan, which is by the wilderness.
7திரும்பிக் காதேஸ் என்னும் என்மிஸ்பாத்துக்கு வந்து, அமலேக்கியருடைய நாடனைத்தையும், அத்சாத்சோன் தாமாரிலே குடியிருந்த எமோரியரையும் கூடச் சங்கரித்தார்கள்.
7They returned, and came to En Mishpat (the same is Kadesh), and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that lived in Hazazon Tamar.
8அப்பொழுது சோதோமின் ராஜாவும், கொமோராவின் ராஜாவும், அத்மாவின் ராஜாவும், செபோயீமின் ராஜாவும், சோவார் என்னும் பேலாவின் ராஜாவும் புறப்பட்டுச் சித்தீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே,
8The king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar) went out; and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of Siddim;
9ஏலாமின் ராஜாவாகிய கெதர்லாகோமேரோடும், ஜாதிகளின் ராஜாவாகிய திதியாலோடும், சிநெயாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அம்ராப்பேலோடும், ஏலாசாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அரியோகோடும் யுத்தம்பண்ணப் புறப்பட்டு, அந்த ஐந்து ராஜாக்களோடும் இந்த நாலு ராஜாக்களும் யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
9against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.
10அந்தச் சித்தீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கு எங்கும் நிலக்கீல் உண்டாகும் கேணிகள் இருந்தது. சோதோம் கொமோராவின் ராஜாக்கள் முறிந்தோடி அங்கே விழுந்தார்கள்; மீந்தவர்கள் மலைகளுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
10Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there, and those who remained fled to the hills.
11அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் சோதோமிலும் கோமோராவிலுமுள்ள பொருள்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும், போஜனபதார்த்தங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார்கள்.
11They took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way.
12ஆபிராமின் சகோதரனுடைய குமாரனாகிய லோத்து சோதோமிலே குடியிருந்தபடியால், அவனையும், அவன் பொருள்களையும் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள்.
12They took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who lived in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
13தப்பியோடின ஒருவன் எபிரெயனாகிய ஆபிராமிடத்தில் வந்து அதை அறிவித்தான்; ஆபிராம் தன்னோடே உடன்படிக்கை செய்திருந்த மனிதராகிய எஸ்கோலுக்கும், ஆநேருக்கும் சகோதரனாகிய மம்ரே என்னும் எமோரியனுடைய சமபூமியிலே அப்பொழுது குடியிருந்தான்.
13One who had escaped came and told Abram, the Hebrew. Now he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner; and these were allies of Abram.
14தன் சகோதரன் சிறையாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டதை ஆபிராம் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் தன் வீட்டிலே பிறந்த கைபடிந்தவர்களாகிய முந்நூற்றுப் பதினெட்டு ஆட்களுக்கும் ஆயுதம் தரிப்பித்து, தாண் என்னும் ஊர் மட்டும் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து,
14When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.
15இராக்காலத்திலே அவனும், அவன் வேலைக்காரரும் பிரிந்து, பவிஞ்சுகளாய் அவர்கள்மேல் விழுந்து, அவர்களை முறியடித்து, தமஸ்குவுக்கு இடதுபுறமான ஓபாமட்டும் துரத்தி,
15He divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
16சகல பொருள்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்; தன் சகோதரனாகிய லோத்தையும், அவனுடைய பொருள்களையும், ஸ்திரீகளையும், ஜனங்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
16He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative, Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17அவன் கெதர்லாகோமேரையும், அவனோடிருந்த ராஜாக்களையும் முறியடித்துத் திரும்பிவருகிறபோது, சோதோமின் ராஜா புறப்பட்டு, ராஜாவின் பள்ளத்தாக்கு என்னும் சாவே பள்ளத்தாக்குமட்டும் அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோனான்.
17The king of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18அன்றியும், உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசாரியனாயிருந்த சாலேமின் ராஜாவாகிய மெல்கிசேதேக்கு அப்பமும் திராட்சரசமும் கொண்டுவந்து,
18Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine: and he was priest of God Most High.
19அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்து: வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உடையவராகிய உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் ஆபிராமுக்கு உண்டாவதாக.
19He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth:
20உன் சத்துருக்களை உன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த உன்னதமான தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் என்று சொன்னான். இவனுக்கு ஆபிராம் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்.
20and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all.
21சோதோமின் ராஜா ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: ஜனங்களை எனக்குத் தாரும், பொருள்களை நீர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் என்றான்.
21The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, and take the goods to yourself.”
22அதற்கு, ஆபிராம் சோதோமின் ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து; ஆபிராமை ஐசுவரியவனாக்கினேன் என்று நீர் சொல்லாதபடிக்கு நான் ஒரு சரட்டையாகிலும் பாதரட்சையின் வாரையாகிலும், உமக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் யாதொன்றையாகிலும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளேன் என்று,
22Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,
23வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உடையவராகிய உன்னதமான தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு நேராக என் கையை உயர்த்துகிறேன்.
23that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’
24வாலிபர் சாப்பிட்டதுபோக, என்னுடனே வந்த ஆநேர், எஸ்கோல், மம்ரே என்னும் புருஷருடைய பங்குமாத்திரமே வரவேண்டும்; இவர்கள் தங்கள் பங்கை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும் என்றான்.
24I will accept nothing from you except that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them take their portion.”
