1இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலும், யாக்கோபின் குடும்பம் அந்நிய பாஷைக்காரரான ஜனத்திலுமிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது,
1When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language;

5கடலே, நீ விலகியோடுகிறதற்கும்; யோர்தானே, நீ பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்புகிறதற்கும்;

6You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs?
7பூமியே, நீ ஆண்டவருக்கு முன்பாகவும், யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அதிரு.
7Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.
