¹АЗБАСКИ бисьёр касон ба тартиб додани нақли воқеаҳое шурӯъ кардаанд, ки рӯй доданошон дар миёни мо пурра маълум аст,

¹Since many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us,

²even as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us,

³it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus;

⁴То ки ту боэътимодии таълимотеро, ки дар он тарбият ёфтаӣ, бидонӣ.

⁴that you might know the certainty concerning the things in which you were instructed.

⁵Дар айёми Ҳиродус, подшоҳи Яҳудо, Закарье ном коҳине аз навбати Абиё буд, ва зани ӯ аз духтарони Ҳорун буда, Элисобаъ ном дошт.

⁵There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

⁶Ҳар дуи онҳо пеши Худо одил буданд ва аз рӯи тамоми аҳком ва фароизи Худованд бекаму кост рафтор мекарданд.

⁶They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.

⁷Онҳо фарзанд надоштанд, зеро ки Элисобаъ нозой буд, ва ҳар ду ба гщронсолагй расида буданд.

⁷But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.

⁸Боре, вақте ки ӯ бо навбати худ пеши Худо каҳонат мекард,

⁸Now it happened, while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his division,

⁹Мувофиқи таомули каҳонат, куръа ба номи ӯ баромад, ки ба маъбади Худованд даромада, бухур кунад;

⁹according to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

¹⁰The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.

¹¹Баногоҳ фариштаи Худованд бар ӯ зоҳир гардида, дар тарафи рости қурбонгоҳи бухур истод.

¹¹An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

¹²Закарьё аз ин рӯъё музтариб шуда, ба ҳарос афтод.

¹²Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.

¹³Аммо фаришта ба ӯ гуфт: «Эӣ Закарьё, натарс, зеро ки дуои ту мустаҷоб шудааст, ва зани ту Элисобаъ ба ту писаре хоҳад зоид, ва ӯро Яҳьё хоҳӣ номид.

¹³But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

¹⁴«Ва туро шодмонӣ ва хурсандй насиб хоҳад шуд, ва бисьёр касон ба таваллуди ӯ шодӣ хоҳанд кард;

¹⁴You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth.

¹⁵«Зеро ки ӯ дар назари Худованд бузург хоҳад буд, ва шароб ва арақ нахоҳад нӯшид, ва аз шиками модари худ аз Рӯҳулқудс пур хоҳад буд,

¹⁵For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

¹⁶«Ва бисьёр касонро аз банӣИсроил ба Худованд Худои онҳо руҷӯъ хоҳад кунонд.

¹⁶He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God.

¹⁷«Ва пешопеши Ӯ бо рӯҳ ва қувваи Ильёс қадам хоҳад зад, го ки дилҳои падаронро ба фарзандон ва номутеонро ба ҳикмати одилон баргардонад ва халқи дурусте барои Худованд муҳайё созад».

¹⁷He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people prepared for the Lord.”

¹⁸Закарьё ба фаришта гуфт: «Инро аз рӯи чй бидонам? Зеро ки ман гщр ҳастам, зани ман низ ба пиронсолагй расидааст».

¹⁸Zacharias said to the angel, “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

¹⁹Фаришта дар ҷавоби ӯ гуфт: «Ман Ҷаброил ҳастам, ки ба ҳузури Худо меистам, ва фиристода шудаам барои он ки бо ту сухан ронам ва ин муждаро ба ту бирасонам.

¹⁹The angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news.

²⁰«Ва инак, забонат лол нгуда, то рӯзи ба амал омадани ин ту имконияти гап задан нахоҳӣ дошт, аз барои он ки басуханони ман, ки дар вақти худ ба иҷро хоҳанд расид, имон наовардӣ».

²⁰Behold, you will be silent and not able to speak, until the day that these things will happen, because you didn’t believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”

²¹Дар ин миён ҷамоат мунтазири Закарье буданд ва тааҷҷуб менамуданд, ки ӯ дар маъбад даранг мекунад.

²¹The people were waiting for Zacharias, and they marveled that he delayed in the temple.

²²Ва ҳангоме ки берун омад, ба онҳо гал заданатавонист, ва онҳо фаҳмиданд, ки ӯ дар маъбад рӯъее дидааст; ва ӯ ба онҳо имову ишора мекард, ва забонаш лол шуда буд.

²²When he came out, he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple. He continued making signs to them, and remained mute.

²³Вақте ки рӯзҳои ҳизматаш ба анҷом расқгь ба хонаи худ рафт.

²³It happened, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he departed to his house.

²⁴Ва баъд аз он рӯзҳо зани ӯ, Элисобаъ, ҳомила шуда, панҷ моҳ худро аз ҳама пинҳон дошт, ва гуфт:

²⁴After these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying,

²⁵«Дар ин рӯзҳо Худованд назар карда, ба ман чунин амал кард, то ки нанги маро аз миёни мардум бардорад».

²⁵“Thus has the Lord done to me in the days in which he looked at me, to take away my reproach among men.”

²⁶Ва дар моҳи шашум Ҷаброили фаришта аз ҷониди Худо ба Носира ном шаҳри Ҷалил фиристода шуд

²⁶Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

²⁷Назди бокирае ки номзади Юсуф ном марде аз ҳонадони Довуд буд; ва номи он бокира Марьям буд.

²⁷to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

²⁸Ва фаришта назди вай даромада, гуфт: «Салом бар Ту, эй пурфайз! Худованд бо туст; ту дар миёни занон муборак ҳастй».

²⁸Having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!”

²⁹Аммо ваи ӯро дида, аз суханонаш музтариб шуд ва дар дили худ гуфт, ки ин чй саломе бошад.

²⁹But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be.

³⁰Ва фаришта ба вай гуфт: «Эй Марьям, натарс, зеро ки ту назди Худо файз ёфтаӣ;

³⁰The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

³¹«Ва инак, ҳомила шуда, Писаре ҳоҳӣ зоид, ва Ӯро Исо ҳоҳӣ номид;

³¹Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name ‘Jesus.’

³²«Ва Ӯ бузург ҳоҳад буд ва Писари Ҳаққи Таоло номида ҳоҳад шуд; ва Худованд Худо тахти падараш Довудро ба Ӯ хоҳад дод;

³²He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,

³³«Ва ӯ бар ҳонадони Яъқуб то абад салтанат хоҳад ронд, ва салтанати Ӯ интихо нахоҳад дошт».

³³and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom.”

³⁴Марьям ба фаришта гуфт: «Ин чӣ гуна мешавад, дар сурате ки ман бокира ҳастам?»

³⁴Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?”

³⁵Фаришта дар ҷавоби вай гуфт: «Рӯҳулкудс бар ту хоҳад омад, ва қуввати Ҳаққи Таоло бар ту соя ҳоҳад афканд; бинобар ин он мавлуди Муқаддас ҳам Писари Худо номида ҳоҳад шуд;

³⁵The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God.

³⁶«Инак, ҳеши ту, Элисобаъ, ки ӯро нозой меноманд, ӯ низ дар пирии ҳуд писаре дар шикам дорад, ва ҳоло моҳи шашуми ӯст;

³⁶Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

³⁷«Зеро ки назди Худо ҳеҷ каломе бе оқибат намемонад».

³⁷For everything spoken by God is possible.”

³⁸Маръям гуфт: «Инак, канизи Худованд ҳастам; бигзор бо ман аз рӯи каломи ту бшпавад». Ва фаришта аз пеши вай рафт.

³⁸Mary said, “Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word.” The angel departed from her.

³⁹Дар он рӯзҳо Марьям роҳсипор шуда, бо шитоб ба шаҳре рафт, ки дар кӯҳистони Яҳудо воқеъ аст,

³⁹Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah,

⁴⁰Ва ба ҳонаи Закарьё даромада, ба Элисобаъ салом гуфт.

⁴⁰and entered into the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.

⁴¹Ва чун Элисобаъ саломи Марьямро шунид, бача дар шикамаш ба ҷунбиш омад; ва Элисобаъ аз Рӯҳулқудс пур шуд,

⁴¹It happened, when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, that the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

⁴²Ва бо овози баланд хитоб намуда, гуфт: «Ту дар миёни занон муборак ҳастӣ, ва муборак аст самараи шиками ту!

⁴²She called out with a loud voice, and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

⁴³«Ва ин ба ман аз куҷост, ки модари Худованди ман назди ман омадааст?

⁴³Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

⁴⁴«Зеро ки чун садои саломи ту ба гӯшам расид, бача аз шодй дар шикамам ба чунбиш омад;

⁴⁴For behold, when the voice of your greeting came into my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy!

⁴⁵«Ва хушо вай, ки имон овардааст, ки он чи аз ҷониби Худованд ба вай гуфта шудааст, ба амал хоҳад омад».

⁴⁵Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of the things which have been spoken to her from the Lord!”

⁴⁶Ва Марьям гуфт: «Чони ман Худовандро ситоиш мекунад,

⁴⁶Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord.

⁴⁷«Ва рӯҳи ман аз Худои Наҷотдиҳандаи ман ба ваҷд омад,

⁴⁸«Ки Ӯ бар фурӯтании канизи Худ назар кардааст; зеро ки минбаъд ҳамаи наслҳо маро ҳушбахт хоҳанд хонд;

⁴⁸for he has looked at the humble state of his handmaid. For behold, from now on, all generations will call me blessed.

⁴⁹«Зеро ки он Қодир чизи бузурге барои ман ба амал овард, ва исми Ӯ муқаддас аст,

⁴⁹For he who is mighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name.

⁵⁰«Ва марҳамати Ӯ насл ба насл барои касонест, ки аз Ӯ метарсанд;

⁵¹«Қуввати бозуи Худро зоҳир сохт; онҳоеро, ки аз андешаҳои дилашон мағрур буданд, пароканда кард;

⁵¹He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

⁵²«Зӯроваронро аз тахтҳо вожгун сохт ва фурӯтанонро сарафроз гардонд;

⁵²He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly.

⁵³«Гуруснагонро аз неъматҳо лур кард, ва сарватдоронро тиҳидаст фиристод;

⁵³He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty.

⁵⁴«Бандаи Худ Исроилро дастгирӣ кард, ба хотираи марҳамати Худ, -

⁵⁵«Чунон ки ба падарони мо гуфта буд, - ба Иброҳим ва насли ӯ то абад».

⁵⁵As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever.”

⁵⁶Ва Марьям қариб се моҳнаэди ӯ монд ва баъд бахонаи худ баргашт.

⁵⁶Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned to her house.

⁵⁷Чун вақти зоидани Элнсобаъ расид, ӯ писаре зоид.

⁵⁷Now the time that Elizabeth should give birth was fulfilled, and she brought forth a son.

⁵⁸Ва ҳамсояҳо ва хешу табори ӯ шуниданд, ки Худованд марҳамати Худро ба ӯ афзун кардааст, ва бо ӯ шод шуданд.

⁵⁸Her neighbors and her relatives heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy towards her, and they rejoiced with her.

⁵⁹Ва дар рӯзи ҳащтум омаданд, ки кӯдакро хатна кунанд, ва мехостанд ӯро, аз рӯи номи падараш, Закарьё ном монанд.

⁵⁹It happened on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him Zacharias, after the name of the father.

⁶⁰Лекин модараш дар ҷавоб гуфт: «Не, балки ӯ Яҳьё номида хоҳад шуд».

⁶⁰His mother answered, “Not so; but he will be called John.”

⁶¹Ба вай гуфтанд: «Дар авлоди ту касе нест, ки чунин ном дошта бошад».

⁶¹They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.”

⁶²Ва бо имову ишорат аз падараш пурсиданд, ки ӯро чӣ ном ниҳодан мехоҳад.

⁶²They made signs to his father, what he would have him called.

⁶³Ӯ тахтачае талабида, бар он навишт: «Нолш ӯ Яҳьёст». Ва ҳама мутааҷҷиб шуданд.

⁶³He asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, “His name is John.” They all marveled.

⁶⁴Дарҳол даҳон ва забони ӯ кушода шуд, ва ӯ ба сухан даромада, Худоро ҳамду сано хонд.

⁶⁴His mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue freed, and he spoke, blessing God.

⁶⁵Ва ҳамаи ҳамсояҳои онҳо ба ҳарос афтоданд; ватамоми ин воқеаро дар сар то сари кӯҳистони Яҳудо нақл мекарданд.

⁶⁵Fear came on all who lived around them, and all these sayings were talked about throughout all the hill country of Judea.

⁶⁶Ва ҳар кӣ мешунавид, инро дар дили худ ҷо дода, мегуфт: «Ин кӯдак кӣ хоҳад шуд?» Ва дасти Худованд бо ӯ буд.

⁶⁶All who heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, “What then will this child be?” The hand of the Lord was with him.

⁶⁷Падари ӯ, Закарье, аз Рӯҳулқудс пур шуд ва нубувват намуда, гуфт:

⁶⁷His father, Zacharias, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,

⁶⁸«Муборак аст Худованд Худои Исроил, ки қавми Худро парасторӣ намуда, ба вай халосй ато фармудааст,

⁶⁸“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and worked redemption for his people;

⁶⁹«Ва барои мо дар хонадони бандаи Худ Довуд шохи наҷот барпо кардааст,

⁷⁰«Чунон ки аз қадим бо забони анбиёи муқаддаси Худ гуфтааст,

⁷¹«Ки моро аз душманони мо ва аз дасти ҳамаи онҳое ки аз мо нафрат доранд, наҷот хоҳад дод;

⁷²«Ба падарони мо марҳамат намуда, аҳди муқаддаси Худро,

⁷²to show mercy towards our fathers, to remember his holy covenant,

⁷³«Қасамеро, ки Ӯба падари мо Иброҳим ёд карда буд, ба хотир хоҳад овард,

⁷⁴«Ва ба мо имконият хоҳад дод, ки аз дасти душманони худ халос шуда, бе тарсу бим

⁷⁴to grant to us that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, should serve him without fear,

⁷⁵«Ба Ӯ бо қудсият ва адолат хизмат кунем, дар ҳолате ки тамоми айёми умри худ пеши Ӯ бошем.

⁷⁶«Ва ту, эй кӯдак, набии Ҳаққи Таоло хонда хоҳӣ шуд, зеро ки пешопеши Худованд қадам хоҳй зад, то ки роҳҳои Ӯро муҳайё кунӣ.

⁷⁶And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,

⁷⁷«Ва ба қавми Ӯ бифаҳмонӣ, ки наҷот дар омурзиши гуноҳхои онҳост,

⁷⁸«Аз умқи марҳамати Худои мо, ки бо онморо Найири Толеъ аз олами боло парасторӣ намуд,

⁷⁸because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dawn from on high will visit us,

⁷⁹«То ки касони дар торикӣ ва сояи марг нишастаро мунаввар созад ва пойҳои моро ба роҳи осоиштагӣ равона кунад».

⁷⁹to shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death; to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

⁸⁰Ва кӯдак калон шуда, рӯҳаш қавӣ мегашт, ва то рӯзе ки бар Исроил зохир гардид, дар биёбонҳо буд.

⁸⁰The child was growing, and becoming strong in spirit, and was in the desert until the day of his public appearance to Israel.
