¹ข้าพเจ้ามิได้เป็นอัครสาวกหรือ ข้าพเจ้ามิได้มีเสรีภาพหรือ ข้าพเจ้ามิได้เห็นพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราหรือ ท่านทั้งหลายมิได้เป็นผลงานของข้าพเจ้าในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าหรือ

¹Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren’t you my work in the Lord?

²ถ้าข้าพเจ้ามิได้เป็นอัครสาวกในสายตาของคนอื่น ข้าพเจ้าก็ยังคงเป็นอัครสาวกในสายตาของท่านอย่างไม่ต้องสงสัย เพราะพวกท่านคือตราตำแหน่งอัครสาวกของข้าพเจ้าในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า

²If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

³ถ้าผู้ใดสอบสวนข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าก็จะบอกว่า

³My defense to those who examine me is this.

⁴เราไม่มีสิทธิ์ที่จะกินและดื่มหรือ

⁴Have we no right to eat and to drink?

⁵เราไม่มีสิทธิ์ที่จะพาพี่น้องซึ่งเป็นภรรยาไปไหนๆด้วยกัน เหมือนอย่างอัครสาวกอื่นๆ และบรรดาน้องชายขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าและเคฟาสหรือ

⁵Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

⁶เฉพาะข้าพเจ้าและบารนาบัสเท่านั้นหรือที่ไม่มีสิทธิ์จะเลิกทำงานหาเลี้ยงชีพ

⁶Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work?

⁷ใครบ้างที่เป็นทหารไปในการศึกสงคราม และต้องกินเสบียงของตัวเอง หรือใครบ้างที่ทำสวนปลูกต้นองุ่น และมิได้กินผลองุ่นในสวนนั้น หรือใครบ้างที่เลี้ยงสัตว์และมิได้กินน้ำนมของฝูงสัตว์นั้น

⁷What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn’t eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and doesn’t drink from the flock’s milk?

⁸ข้าพเจ้ากล่าวอย่างนี้ตามอย่างมนุษย์หรือ พระราชบัญญัติมิได้กล่าวอย่างนี้เหมือนกันหรือ

⁸Do I speak these things according to the ways of men? Or doesn’t the law also say the same thing?

⁹เพราะว่าในพระราชบัญญัติของโมเสสเขียนไว้ว่า `อย่าเอาตะกร้าครอบปากวัว เมื่อมันกำลังนวดข้าวอยู่' พระเจ้าทรงเป็นห่วงวัวหรือ

⁹For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Deuteronomy 25:4 Is it for the oxen that God cares,

¹⁰หรือพระองค์ได้ตรัสเพื่อประโยชน์ของเราทั้งหลาย แท้จริงคำนั้นท่านเขียนไว้เพื่อประโยชน์ของเราทั้งหลาย ให้คนที่ไถนาไถด้วยความหวังใจ และให้คนที่นวดข้าวนวดด้วยความหวังใจว่าจะได้ประโยชน์ตามที่เขาหวัง

¹⁰or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should partake of his hope.

¹¹ถ้าเราได้หว่านของสำหรับจิตวิญญาณให้แก่ท่าน แล้วจะมากไปหรือที่เราจะเกี่ยวของสำหรับเนื้อหนังจากท่าน

¹¹If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?

¹²ถ้าคนอื่นมีสิทธิ์ที่จะได้รับประโยชน์จากท่าน เราไม่มีสิทธิ์ที่จะได้รับยิ่งกว่าเขาอีกหรือ ถึงกระนั้นเราก็มิได้ใช้สิทธิ์นี้เลย แต่ยอมทนทุกข์ยากสารพัด เพื่อเราจะไม่เป็นอุปสรรคขัดขวางข่าวประเสริฐของพระคริสต์

¹²If others partake of this right over you, don’t we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.

¹³ท่านไม่รู้หรือว่าคนที่ปรนนิบัติเรื่องสิ่งบริสุทธิ์ ก็กินอาหารของพระวิหาร และคนปรนนิบัติที่แท่นบูชาก็รับส่วนแบ่งจากแท่นบูชานั้น

¹³Don’t you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?

¹⁴ทำนองเดียวกัน องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ทรงบัญชาไว้ว่า คนที่ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐควรได้รับการเลี้ยงชีพด้วยข่าวประเสริฐนั้น

¹⁴Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.

¹⁵แต่ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้ใช้สิทธิ์เหล่านี้เลย ที่ข้าพเจ้าเขียนเรื่องนี้ ก็มิใช่เพื่อจะให้เขากระทำอย่างนั้นแก่ข้าพเจ้า เพราะข้าพเจ้ายอมตายเสียดีกว่าที่จะให้ผู้ใดทำลายเกียรติอันนี้ของข้าพเจ้า

¹⁵But I have used none of these things, and I don’t write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.

¹⁶เพราะถึงแม้ว่าข้าพเจ้าประกาศข่าวประเสริฐนั้นข้าพเจ้าไม่มีเหตุที่จะอวดได้ เพราะจำเป็นที่ข้าพเจ้าจะต้องประกาศ ถ้าข้าพเจ้าไม่ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐวิบัติจะเกิดแก่ข้าพเจ้า

¹⁶For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about; for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me, if I don’t preach the Good News.

¹⁷เพราะถ้าข้าพเจ้าประกาศอย่างเต็มใจ ข้าพเจ้าก็จะได้บำเหน็จ หากกระทำการประกาศนั้นโดยฝืนใจ ก็ยังเป็นการที่ทรงมอบหน้าที่ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐไว้ให้ข้าพเจ้ากระทำ

¹⁷For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

¹⁸แล้วอะไรเล่าจะเป็นบำเหน็จของข้าพเจ้า คือเมื่อข้าพเจ้าประกาศข่าวประเสริฐ ข้าพเจ้าได้ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐของพระคริสต์โดยไม่คิดค่าจ้าง เพื่อจะไม่ได้ใช้สิทธิ์ในข่าวประเสริฐนั้นอย่างเต็มที่

¹⁸What then is my reward? That, when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.

¹⁹เพราะถึงแม้ว่าข้าพเจ้ามิได้อยู่ในบังคับของผู้ใด ข้าพเจ้าก็ยังยอมตัวเป็นทาสคนทั้งปวงเพื่อจะได้ชนะใจคนมากยิ่งขึ้น

¹⁹For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.

²⁰ต่อพวกยิว ข้าพเจ้าก็ทำตัวเหมือนยิว เพื่อจะได้พวกยิว ต่อพวกที่อยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัติ ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นเหมือนคนอยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัติ เพื่อจะได้คนที่อยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัตินั้น

²⁰To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;

²¹ต่อคนที่อยู่นอกพระราชบัญญัติ ข้าพเจ้าก็ทำตัวเหมือนคนนอกพระราชบัญญัติ เพื่อจะได้คนที่อยู่นอกพระราชบัญญัตินั้น (แต่ข้าพเจ้ามิได้อยู่นอกพระราชบัญญัติของพระเจ้า แต่อยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัติแห่งพระคริสต์)

²¹to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.

²²ต่อคนอ่อนแอ ข้าพเจ้าก็ทำตัวเหมือนคนอ่อนแอ เพื่อจะได้คนอ่อนแอ ข้าพเจ้ายอมเป็นคนทุกชนิดต่อคนทั้งปวง เพื่อจะช่วยเขาให้รอดได้บ้างโดยทุกวิถีทาง

²²To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

²³ข้าพเจ้าทำอย่างนี้เพราะเห็นแก่ข่าวประเสริฐ เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะได้มีส่วนกับท่านในข่าวประเสริฐนั้น

²³Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.

²⁴ท่านไม่รู้หรือว่าคนเหล่านั้นที่วิ่งแข่งกัน ก็วิ่งด้วยกันทุกคน แต่คนที่ได้รับรางวัลมีคนเดียว เหตุฉะนั้นจงวิ่งเพื่อชิงรางวัลให้ได้

²⁴Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win.

²⁵ฝ่ายนักกีฬาทุกคนก็เคร่งครัดในระเบียบทุกอย่าง แล้วเขากระทำอย่างนั้นเพื่อจะได้มงกุฎใบไม้ซึ่งร่วงโรยได้ แต่เรากระทำเพื่อจะได้มงกุฎที่ไม่มีวันร่วงโรยเลย

²⁵Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

²⁶ดังนั้นส่วนข้าพเจ้าวิ่งแข่งอย่างนี้โดยมีเป้าหมาย ข้าพเจ้าได้ต่อสู้อย่างนี้ ไม่ใช่อย่างนักมวยที่ชกลม

²⁶I therefore run like that, as not uncertainly. I fight like that, as not beating the air,

²⁷แต่ข้าพเจ้าระงับความปรารถนาฝ่ายเนื้อหนังให้อยู่ใต้บังคับ เพราะเกรงว่าโดยทางหนึ่งทางใดเมื่อข้าพเจ้าได้ประกาศแก่คนอื่นแล้ว ตัวข้าพเจ้าเองจะเป็นคนที่ใช้การไม่ได้

²⁷but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
